My ICal is COMPLETELY messed up.

I realized a few months ago after completing a software update on my Macbook, that my ICal events were completely gone! and its screwed up 100%
Some problems I'm having:
-Can't create new events (Command-N, Command-E, NOTHING HAPPENS!)
-The mini calender on the bottom left hand corner is frozen on January 2001... yeah.
-Whenever I try to quit ICal it just freezes. If I want to exit the app I have to do the whole force quit thing.
I've tried almost everything I could think of. I deleted the Calenders folder, nothing. I reset my preferences... nothing works.
I've read one complaint identical to mine on this forum so I can't be the only one!... any ideas on what the problem is? Or some things I can try to do to fix it?
PS- I stopped using ICal months ago after this issue popped up since nothing worked. So I gave up on it. My schedule's getting busy this summer and it'd be great if I could use the app! hahah

Firstly, there is no white unibody Macbook made in 2012. The last MacBook ever made was in 2010.
If you truly have a MacBook then you should get out your original installer DVD, boot from the DVD, erase the hard drive, then reinstall OS X. Upgrade the OS to Mavericks by first updating it to 10.6.8, then accessing the App Store using your Apple ID and password. Download the Mavericks installer - it's free - and install it.

Please set the EQ setting on you iPod to "flat". It does not help, please restore your iPod to factory settings

Why do I keep getting problems with Apple not recognizing my email password? This suddenly started and just reminds me of the mess that mobileme was. Calendar dev also is not working. What a complete mess!

Can't access my email - endless messages saying password is wrong, which it is not. Mobileme all over again. I now need to forward all Apple mail to GMail, which is how an email system should work. Same is true with the calendar - a complete mess on the integration with my Google calendar.
This is really, really a pain!!

OK this is Cormacin Texas - these idiots have put me through the hoops, effectively locking me out of the support forum. Anyway I've solved the problem - it took 3.5 hours, involved a trip to the Genius bar at the local Apple store, and one and a half hours escalating through the dial-in help support - which was about the only thing the Genius was good for.
What you need to know is:
1. Apple are having problems with their servers, but have not published the fact - we've all wasted a lot of time because these guys want to keep their Customer Sat scores high, I guess. (I'm starting to feel like one of their Chinese factory workers!)
2. This server problem is compounded by the fact that it only affects a few random servers
3. It in turn can lead to problems sending emails which require you to change your Apple Mail password, and in my case surgically remove bad records for various hidden email and library folders. (Good luck with that!)
So, a problem that they hide, a knock-on set of work that the problem indirectly causes, which they also hide, and a support structure that is geared for hardware, not the services that they are now selling.
My suggestion is to change your mail password using the web (icloud.com) access to Mail and see if that works. After that, remove and reset up your Apple email (Preferences) and pray that you don't have to join endless telephone answering lines where some of the folks will cut you off because they can't be arsed.
The two guys that finally helped me were brilliant, knew their stuff and could not have done a better job. The key guy was Danny - if you get him, your golden!

I think you should just rebuild your library.
Clear it out, then drag all the song files back in. You'll lose your ratings and playcounts, etc but I don't see what else you can do.

You have a hardware problem. It is probably the hard drive is either to full, not enough free space, or it is starting to fail.
If you have an external drive connec that to the system and use the Recovery HD, Command + r keys at startup, to install a clean fresh copy of OS X Lion on the external then run the system from that. It will be slower but if you don't get the beachball then that is the sign your internal drive is on its way out or is filled up with files and not enough free space.

U510 Boot Completely Messed Up

So my u510 was originally installed with Win8, and I wanted to dual boot Ubuntu alongside it, so I shrinked the existing windows volumes slightly in order to make room for the new partition, but in the process of installing I may have royally screwed myself over somehow.
When I boot up the laptop, the Lenovo logo appears for a short while (can't go into BIOS/BootMenu anymore), then the screen just has a blinking "_" at the top left corner and is unresponsive to any sort of input.
In hindsight, I probably should have done this while I wasn't half asleep, as now I don't remember what exactly I was doing anymore. Any idea what I can do to fix this? I'm pretty sure a majority of my data is there, I've just completely messed up one or some of the partitions, as my windows partition was working fine until i restarted and started getting these errors.

Keychains are Completely Messed Up

Hey there all. So, my friends computer's keychains are completely messed up, and it is the System keychain. 3 months ago it was the login keychain. I, at this point, think that we should just redownload Mavericks and run the installation like a upgrade. Would that fix it, or would something else?

Try Keychain First Aid first. If that doesn't work, you can reset Keychain completely: Resetting your keychain in Mac OS X
(Resetting a keychain sets aside the original default keychain file and creates a new one.)

View of my device is completely messed up

Ever since I upgraded to iTunes 10, the screen under "devices" that shows what's on my iPhone is completely messed up. The main screen shows headings for "iPhone," "Version" and "Options," but each of those sections is blank. Also, there are no tabs for music, movies, apps, etc. It's all gone. Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache.
*Press and hold Shift and left-click the Reload button.

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":

Skype is completely messed up

OK so today I was just skyping with some friends. I decide to group call them, then I realize I can't hang up, so I'm like, maybe it's just bugged, I'll just end process and relogin. However, when I tried to relogin, the dialogue box stated that I already had skype open. Then I ended all skype processes, logged in again, and for some reason, everything was completely messed up. The friends I was skyping earlier don't appear under my contacts (skype wants me to share contact information), when I send messages, they are pending, I can't change my status, and when I call, they can't pick up and I can't hang up. Ended task again, couldn't log in since apparently I had skype open.
Looking online on the forums, I found this:
Quit Skype or use Windows Task Manager to kill any Skype.exe process. Go to Windows Start and in the Search/Run box type %appdata%, press Enter or click the OK button. The Windows File Explorer will pop up. There locate a folder named “Skype”. Rename this folder to something different, e.g. Skype_old. Restart Skype.
Tried it, I logged in, same process. Can't send messages, friends don't appear as contacts, etc.
Reinstalled skype, same problem.
Reverted back to the un-updated skype, same thing occurs.
Both versions of the Windows 8 skype are messed up (the one in store and the desktop version)
Mobile version works fine.

Please, run the DirectX diagnostics tool.
Go to Windows Start and in the Run box type dxdiag.exe and press the OK button. This will start the DirectX diagnostics program. Run this diagnostics and save the results to a file. Please, attach this file to your post.

First thought: Have you used the same Apple ID for all the purchases you're talking about? If not, that could cause an issue.
Assuming you've used the same Apple ID all the way through everything you're talking about, here's the second set of questions:
When you say you can't play the songs from the iPhone playlist, can you see the playlist on the iPhone? Is the song visible in the playlist? Is it visible under "Songs" in iTunes on your iPhone? Is it visible in "Albums" on your iPhone? Is the song in iCloud?

Made a series of errors; now iCal is a complete mess

Hi, several days ago I mistakenly shut down my G5 while a sync was in progress, and since then, my Calendar events have not been syncing properly (I have a G5, a Powerbook G4 and an iPhone). I tried resetting sync data to no avail. So I just tried deleting the Calendar Cache from my G5's Home/Library/Calendars.
Unfortunately, when doing that, I made a series of mistakes. I deleted the calendar folders with multiple letter/numeral names from the Home/Library/Calendars folder, which caused all events and calendars (except for "Home" and "Work") to disappear from iCal; and this condition remained even after I tried resetting sync data from MobileMe.
So I dragged the letter/numeral Calendar folders from the trash back to Home/Library/Calendars, and deleted the events within those folders, and tried resetting sync data again from MobileMe. The result is multiple duplicated calendars in my G5's iCal, but no events.
Any suggestions?

What you describe for the remote is typical if the remote's battery is weak. They do have a certain shelf-life. You may want to swap out the battery and re-associate the remote with the computer.
The clicking hard-disk is a concern. You ought not be able to hear much of anything from the drive and it probable means a hardware issue with the drive. The shutdown message you get is consistent with a hardware fault, possibly related to the drive. It's likely the cause of most of the other issues that you see.
I would suggest that you take the machine in for warranty service.

Itunes completely messed up...

i tried searching through threads to find this but no luck, so hopefully somewhere can answer or help me here.
im having a MESS load of problems with my itunes since i reformatted my computer. i reinstalled the newest version many times, updated my ipod many times but still nothing...
either i open my itunes and it completely Freezes and i have to exit the program. or i get it to load fine, but its not recognizing my ipod...so i will restart my computer untill it recognizes the ipod..
once i get it to recognize my ipod, my itunes either A) freezes as soon as i try to update my ipod or B) says Updating Ipod...but only flashes the update really quick, and doesnt update anything onto my ipod..
ive never heard of people having this many problems, i really dont know what else to do
anyone heard of all these problems?

Hey try this:
Turn Norton 2005's Personal Firewall OFF, (turn it OFF Permanently until your ready to turn it back on) then click CONFIGURE.
Under the PROGRAMS tab remove any reference to Apple iTunes or iTunes or iTunes Helper Module or anything related. and reboot.
After coming back go back to Norton 2005's Personal Firewall, click CONFIGURE. Under the PROGRAMS tab click ADD at the bottom, a SELECT A PROGRAM
window will pop up. Add the following files one at a time, iTunes.exe, iTunesHelper.exe, QuickTimePlayer.exe, qttask.exe, QTInfo.exe. The last 3 are found
in your Quicktime folder where that is in your system. Click OK. Turn Norton 2005's Personal Firewall ON, and try starting iTunes again.
This worked for me. It seems the Quicktime files were never automatically entered into my Norton 2005's Personal Firewall allowable programs listing. Adding them
manually should help. I also noticed that from my previous version of iTunes the program listed in the Firewall was named Apple iTunes and not iTunes after I upgraded to 6.
Let me know if this works out.
