My iCal stopped showing the day

Suddenly my iCal stopped showing the day when I open events or to-dos.
When I begin a new event, I get the event box fine, with all components, but the date shows as (for example, this month) 06/2011, only the month and year (sometimes with the time, as in 06/2011 1030). But not the day.
Now I can't specify a day when I want to add an event.
What gives?

Cannot turn on "Show the day of the week" option in Date & Time

OS X Lion turns "Show the day of the week" option off each time I open that preference pane and after every reboot. My region in Formats tab of Language & Text preference pane is set to "Russia (Russian)". I've noticed that the problem doesn't appear when region is set to US (I didn't try others). Is there any known workaround, except changing my region preference?

And I have a workaround, until Фззду fixes it finally:
1) Go to the ~/Library/Preferences, locate a file named com.apple.menuextra.clock.plist, open it with Plist editor (comes with XCode) or just with TextEdit.
2) There's DateFormat key in it, change it to "EEE H:mm", save the file.
3) Now Cmd-I (right click - Get info) on that file in Finder, and check option named "Locked" ("Защита").
System Preferences' Date & Time pane sets the aforementioned DateFormat to "ccc H:mm" when you tick the "Show the day of the week" option, while in Russian locale. And in English it becomes "EEE H:mm". The problem is that Sys.pref and even SystemUIServer (that shows the menu) processes somehow do not like the former value and erase it. After every relaunch of SystemUIServer (after reboot or being killed) tries to change "EEE" to "ccc" again (which would be cleared to nothing next time), that is why you have to lock the plist file.

This can be caused by a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

try another cable it's a std cable that most consumer electronic use
if that does not help then I would try to connect it by a microUSB cable to see if I could restore the firmware from a computer running itunes
if that does not help then I would say that the appletv have died

I have three AE's on a wds, one suddenly stopped showing the music tab

I have three AE's on a wds (one base and two remotes) , one (remote) suddenly stopped showing the music tab but functions well otherwise.
I tried resetting and reloading firmware (6.2) but to no avail. All AEs are on same network with same firmware and the other two stream airtunes perfectly.
Any takers?

One other poster (I can't find the posting) reported the same problem and when he contacted Apple they had advised the AE may have gone bad, and he had to send it in for repair.

ICal still shows previous day in ical proper, but shows current date in the dock

iCal is open in the MONTH, on my desktop permanently, but it continually shows yesterdays date. It isn't till I actually click on the following day in iCal proper that the date changes to the current date. The iCal icon on the dock works fine with no issues. When I first purchased the iMac iCal worked aok. Software is continually updated.

I have the same issue. I am also running iCal 5.0.2 under Lion 10.7.3. It worked fine for me on Lion 10.7.2, and it still works ok for me on my iPhone 4 running iOS 5.1. It does look like a bug to me. I have the issue connecting to a Google Calendar as well as to another (non-Apple) CalDAV server.
Let me know if you call Apple Support to report this issue.

I noticed that the issue only happens to specific user with specific computer. Please do the following checking to narrow down the issue:
1. please update the Outlook client with the latest patches and service packs.
2. disable using Exchange cached mode and check whether the issue happens in Online mode in this computer.
3. Start
Outlook in safe mode to have a try.
4. Perform a clean boot
in your Windows for the new machine.

My ipad2 email suddenly stopped showing detail of message only subject is shown, this happens with my 3 email accounts (icloud, hotmail, exchange); if I do reply or forward detail is shown.

Try closing the Mail app completely and see if the email text shows when you re-open the Mail app : from the home screen (i.e. not with the Mail app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Mail app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work then also do a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

Stop showing the time

I just got an iPod Classic, and its really annoying me that the time is always showing. When I'm listening to music, I want to have the current song on the screen, not the time. However, it only shows the song for a few seconds, then the time comes back on. I have to touch the wheel to get the song to show again. This is very annoying. I wear a watch for a reason. I don't need the time displayed on my iPod. Any suggestions on how to get the time to stop showing?

I have an issue with the time at the moment. I have set the clock to 24hr, however on 'screen saver' mode it is displaying 12hr time!

How can i get my iphone 5 to stop rebooting and actually show my screen. All it does is show the apple logo and then its goes away and the screen stays on but shows nothing. I can triple click to invert colors but that only makes the black screen white. My lock button does not work either so i cannot hard reset

It appears you have a hardware failure. Certainly the lock button has failed. Without that button you cannot reset which is the first thing to try in cases like yours. Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support.
