My iCal will not let me add new events since Jan. 1,2013. I get an error message that directs me to the console, whatever this is. Frustrating and confusing!!!

My iCal will not allow me to add any new entries. I get an error message that says I encountered a critical error while saving to data base and directs me to te console whatever this is??? This just started after the first of the year?

My iCal worked fine on my MacBook Pro so I ran Chronosync between my MacBook Pro laptop and iMac, the problem seems to have disappeared. Both computers have a working iCal now and I have my fingers crossed that they will stay so!!!

Ical will not let me add new events

Hi. I am working on a mac at my new job and I was trying to use the ical on here to setup my calendar. However, when I click in the field I get a warning message that says: "You cannot change events or To Do items on calendars you've subscribed to."
I didn't subscribe to this calendar, it is the original calendar given to me when I opened ical. I tried adding a new calendar and adding on that but it gives me the same message. Any suggestions on what to do to fix this? Thanks!!

Welcome to Discussions.
With iCal closed, try deleting it's preference file (User/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iCal.plist).
If this does not work try repairing permissions. Open Disk Utility (Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility) and select your boot volume on the left and click Repair Permissions.
If neither of these work post back.

Ical will not delete or add new events to subscribed calendars on iPhone or iPad

So,
The crazy thing is...all of this works fin on my iPhone.
But, my wife, she has an iPhone, and iPad, and a user lognin on our computer where she keeps all of her calendars.
She subscribes to my calendars as well.
If I add anything to my calendar...it show up on her mac and not her iphone or iPad.
If I add something to my iPhone, it shows up on the Mac, but not on the iPad.
If she adds something to my phone, it shows up on her Mac and not on her iPhone.
If SHE adds something to one of the calendars I have subscribed to...it works fine.
This is getting very annoying as marital dstrife continues to build as we are unable to plan our week by simply looking at the clanedar before we schedule something.
PLEASE! ANYBODY!!

Yes, I was aware of this but the phrase "Any items imported from audio CDs or acquired from other sources will not copy from your device to the iTunes library." is what worries me. Will this eliminate my Notes, Calendar Events, etc or will it apply mostly just to the music?

Please give a bit more system details. Which OS and version are you on? Is it 32 bit or 64 bit. Try downloading the Creative Cloud App if not already installed from: https://creative.adobe.com/products/creative-cloud. You can choose to install PS from withing this app and need not rely on web page.

I can't sync my iPhone movies. I have 3 movies but now I am getting an error message that says some of the items in the iTunes library were not copied becuase they could not be found. Two of the movies are from the iTunes store and one is froma movie recently purchased.

Had the same issue, found a solution.
The iTunes Store open in my iTunes was U.S. and the apps on my iPad are from Switzerland's store. So I went to iTunes Store in iTunes, then opened the App Store tab and at the bottom right of this tab clicked the round american Flag button. Changed to Switzerland, went to Store>Authorize this computer (which it did sucessfully) and after that syncronization worked great. Hope this helps

Custom color-palette keeps becoming read-only and will not let me add new swatches

I need to make a custom colour palette for work that i can open on different adobe programs, share with others and add new swatches to as I go. I create a custom palette, save it a custom name but whenever I re-open it, it has become a read-only palette and I can no longer add custom swatches to it. How do I get around this problem if I need to keep adding colours to my custom palettes?

In case you need to keep swatches from the ASE:
create a new document
empty the swatches panel
add all the swatches from the ASE into that document's swatches panel
add new colors as swatches
from the swatches panel's menu select "save library"

ICal won't let me add new events.

I can't add any new events to my iCal on my Macbook Pro.
But I can edit the existing ones.
I can also add events on my iCloud calendar online and on my iPhone and it will show up on my iCal on my Macbook Pro.

ICal will not let me enter an event on a certain date.

Ok, so I'm trying to enter an event on Sunday the 7th of October on my MBP's iCal (5.0.3) and every time I double click on the date in month or week view, it leaps to Saturday the 6th. I've tried entering the event on my iPad and it shows up on the right date there, but when it goes to the cloud and comes to my MBP the event has leapt over to Saturday the 6th again!! I have tried refreshing all and then I deleted my p.list and logged out and then in again, but I'm still unable to enter any events for Sunday the 7th on my MBP's iCal.
Anybody got any clues?

Sometimes iCal doesn't handle properly days when the clock changes; Sunday 7th October is your next change. Try changing your time zone to another with the same offset from UTC - eg Papua. I think it is a fault in the time zone file, rather than in iCal itself.
