My icalendar is "stuck" on upgrading!

I cannot access any of it's features.  When I go into system preferences, ICloud, the Icalendar box is checked, but "gray" and it constantly says "starting".  My mobile devices are fine… it's just my macbook ical that seems to be frozen.  Please help!

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest by trying to open the iCloud preference pane. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you boot, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, reboot as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of steps 1 and 2.

    Yes, it does.
FAQ: Will Photoshop Elements work with my camera, or Why won't my raw files open?
It can handle the raw files covered by the ACR 6.7 version.
For newer cameras, you can use the free Adobe DNGconverter to batch convert a folder into the DNG raw format that PSE10 can read and edit.
(see the link in the upper document)
Fine JPG to be downloaded at a time.
All versions of Elements can open many jpegs at the same time, and the organizer lets you import as many as you want?

  • Ical is stuck on upgrading !

My ical has been stuck on "Upgrading ical Calendars" for two days now - i have force quit but still same - can anyone help please?

    jrObert,
The advice that was given for the OP was offered almost three years ago, and the OP was using OS X 10.6. You are most likely using a newer version of OS X. Try this updated list of instructions.
    1. Disconnect your computer from your internet connection.
    2. From the  Menu, select Force Quit...>Calendar.
    3. Paste this text ~/Library into the Finder>Go>Go to Folder...window and select "Go." This will open the Users Library Folder.
    4. Then open the Calendars Folder in that Library Folder, and move any any files with "Cache" listed in the name field to your Desktop.
    5. Next open the Preferences Folder in the same Library Folder, and move the com.apple.iCal.plist file to the Desktop.
    6. Log out/in or restart, and open Calendar.

  • Ipad Mini stuck in upgrade mode

During softwar upgrade my son pulled minipad from USB port.  Pad is stuck in upgrade mode and unable to power down.  The apple icon with 1/8 of the status bar is on main screen.  Any suggestions on how to get out of "stuck mode"

You can try rebooting the iPad, but if that wont work, you will probably have to restore using recovery mode.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • ICal, Mail and Finder times all stuck since upgrade!  System clock O.K.

    Very strange problem:
All of my calendar event times (in iCal), email message receipt times (in Mail), and file modification/creation times (in Finder) are listed as some time between 7:00-7:59 AM or PM, regardless of time of day! My system clock (as it appears in the menu bar) is fine!
    More details:
iCal: the events still look like they're at the right times, i.e. the blocks are in the right places, with the correct spacing, etc etc, they are just labeled with times between 7:00-7:59 AM/PM. Similarly, alarms go off at the correct time. Also, in the day or week listing, the column on the left which is supposed to show times instead just says "Sat" for all times, except "Noon" (at noon).
This is continuous since upgrading to snow leopard a couple weeks ago. Seemingly no other problems besides this.
I don't know much about the OS, but I don't understand how the system clock (in the menu bar) could be fine, but every other sign of time-keeping is completely off. I just its just something about the labeling of times, instead of the actual record of them?!
I have screen shots of the problems if that might help clarify (apparently I can't attach them however).
    Thanks for your help!

    Hi,
    Any solutions to your problems?
Just found my Mom has the same 'time stuck' problem (iMac OS X 10.6.7) Finder 'Date Modified' is stuck at 2/14/2011. Also, the Time/Date displays correctly on the Menu bar but when click on it, the drop down menu shows a gray out 2/14/2011, etc.
Much appreciated of any help. Thx.

    Hi sachin,
Need to check couple of things here.
1.check for the back ground work process.
2.check the free space in /usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/global .if there is no free space to write the job log then backgorund job will not run.
3.Also check for the free space in archive log directory
paste the log for this particular phase so that we can analyze further.

  • How do I get my iPhone 4S out of Recovery Mode w/o restoring? (got stuck when upgrading to ios 7)

Last night I upgraded my iPhone 4S to ios 7, and this morning when I went to use it I was stuck in Recovery Mode - How do I get my iPhone 4S out of it w/o restoring? I have photos, contacts, etc  Iwant to get off the phone. I tried Tiny Umbrella and RecBoot but no dice. I was not able to get any help from the Apple tech on the phone. They only suggestions offered were to check to see if iPhoto or the Finder would show my device so I could copy over my photos.
    Thanks, Chad

See: Resolve iOS update and restore errors - Apple Support
That error usually means that your computer antivirus is blocking the update.
It can also mean that your phone was jailbroken, or your computer was used to jailbreak some iOS device in the past.

  • SAP Business One Client Stuck While upgrading

    Hi Experts,
I have successfully run the upgrade 8.8 patch leve 8 on the server(windows 2003). The server also had the client installed.
As usually we opened up the client for autoupgrade, it seems like it was taking too much time to upgrade and it looked like the client upgrade got stuck.
So we ended the task(The client icon on the desktop disappeared the next moment. ) and tried to upgrade the client using the B1share folder.
We get the messages like Error 1605: This action is valid only for currently installed products . when i say okay
    Error:Number:0*80040702
Description: Failed to load Dll; Creator dll
Next i have also tried to uninstall from add\remove programs, then it says
error 1628: failed to complete installation.
Please let me know how to solve this problem.
    Regards,
    Chidamber.

  • Stuck when upgrading to 3.1.

I'm having trouble applying the update. It didn't restore the phone, and not I have the picture of the cable plugging into iTunes on the phone. I hit "Restore" and I get an error: --The iPhone "iPhone" could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (2009). What do I do? I need my phone back!

I've got a similar problem, but the error code I get is 2006. 'The iPhone "iPhone" could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (2006).' I have upgraded to iTunes 9, and was trying to upgrade my iPhone to 3.1.
The message directed me to "More Information" (http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1275). I have tried all the resolution steps it suggests (i.e. updating iTunes, restarting the computer, trying another USB port, trying another USB cable, trying on a different computer, trying on another user account) but none of them solved the problem. I'm now a bit stuck.
This is unusual in my experience with Apple. Usually it all just works.

  • Any videos slow/stuck after upgrading to new Flash 11.8.800.94

After upgrading to the new flash 11.8.800.94 on Firefox 23, the videos are stuck. I have uninstalled and reinstalled any/all versions of Adobe Flash, but still the same issue. I went back to Flash 10.3 version For Windows and it works fine. But I am little skeptical in using it as it does not have protection for the swf security issues. Till then I plan to revert back to Chrome, as it as well as IE works fine with Flash 11.8 version. Pls let me know if you have any solution.

I also have the same issue, which started last week. I am running FireFox 23 on Windows 7. Flash 11.8x (and also 11.7x) causes Firefox to hang when opening a web page that has flash content on it. This issue is not with the flash video content playing as the web site is hangs before I even have a chance to launch the flash video. I have to start task manager in Windows 7 to kill the firefox process to get control of the browser back. I also went back to Flash 10.3 and the web sites are fine opening, no issues. Please let me know if you have any questions.
