My iChat account on Messages stays logged out Mountain Lion

Since I upgraded to Messages Beta while on Lion, my iChat account has randomly logged out constantly while in use...
The only way I could fix this was by restarting my computer, but eventually it would log out, and stay logged out, again.
Now having upgraded to Mountain Lion, and today updating to 10.8.1 (hoping it would fix the issue), nothing has helped.
In Mountain Lion, my Messages now logs out within 5 minutes of being logged in, and stays logged out.
I've tried fixing the port on the account, using/not using SSL, trying with/without using proxy, etc...
I'm not a pro with using these complicated internet thingys, but I just want my iChat to work (in Messages!!!!).

Please google search for "Mountain Lion disk crash" before upgrading you mac pro. You might need to replace you Mac hard drive after the upgrade.So many people had the same problems including me.
Be aware of the Mountain Lion upgrade problem.

I am receiving the following message when logging out of my bank account. What does this mean and how can I eliminate it? Thanks

I tried both actions but nothing was listed in either option. Thanks anyway. The only other thing I can think of is that in order to use Mozilla it must transfer data from my Yahoo.com account. I have had an old computer that broke down, and I have a new one that I want to connect to Firefox Home on my iPod, yet using the same account. I have logged out of Firefox Home on my iPod, and I would like to log in again.

I would just like to be able to log in to both devices using the account, but I cant add a device on my iPod because I have logged out.

First go to your iTunes menu, STORE, login with your AppleID (if you have not done so), then Authorise your computer under the same STORE menu
Now , go to iTunes store and select "Purchased" from the Quick Links side bar on the top right window. Go through all the tabs to download again for free.

I am using Messages on an iMac, Mountain Lion: Status always grayed out.

How do I delete e-mail accounts in Mail 6.0 using Mountain Lion?

I have installed Mountain Lion on my MBP.
Since then I have developed a problem with Mail Version 6.0 (1485). When I send mail from my regular account as picked at the bottom of the New Message box it is the one I use all the time. I write the message and send it and then Mail puts in other/different e-maill addresses I have. I have gone into preferences and disabled the accounts to no avail. I have highlighted them and tried to get the DELETE button to highlight but it is grayed out.
Stopping the accounts from being the FROM account would be good but lacking that I am happy to just DELETE them but can't figure out how. I printed out the Help File on deleting and it was incorrect on where and what to click.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Why when I delete a message in iMessage on Ipad, the same message doesn't disappear automatically also in Messages on OS X (Mountain Lion)?

I've always had this kind of issue. When I write a new message on Ipad using 'iMessage', it appears immediately even on my Imac running OS X Mountain Lion. But when I delete on Ipad a message, I always had to do the same operation on my Imac because the deletion is not automatic in Mountain Lion. Is it normal? Is it a normal feature of the OS X or is there something wrong with Icloud? Has it ever happen to anyone? Thanks if you can help me.

Sometime I think I would like it if I could delete an iMessage completely.
Other times when reading them on my iPhone I wish to leave them until I can answer them with something that is on my Mac.
It seems that as a device or a Mac that is off line can "catch up" on iMessages sent within a few hours would suggest that the iMessages are held on the server for a period.
It would be handy for different levels of "deletion".

Google Talk not working with Messages after upgrade to Mountain Lion

After upgrading to Mountain Lion, I'm no longer able to use Google Talk with the new Messages App. It worked fine on iChat, but now I cannot enable the account. When I try to check the enable box, it immediately unchecks itself and nothing happens. Any suggestions?

Open Finder, press Option key and select Go > Library. Open Preferences and delete com.apple.imessage.bag.plist and com.apple.imservice.iMessage.plist

Whys does Messages app freeze in Mountain Lion?

Whenvever I click the app it take really long to respond and whenever I write a message and press Return the rainbow wheel shows up and it take a good minute or so to respond again. It also shows the rainbow wheel after recieveing messages. This is very annoying I tried to run just the Messages app and finder but it still does that. If anyone knows how to solve this problem, please help.

I would also ask which message service this is over ?
iMessages may be slow from time to time depending on how busy the server is (noting many new devices being registered and an holiday increase in People messaging anyway).
You may be using Jabber server that is popular such and the GoogleTalk or Facebook ones.
I would not expect a delay using an AIM or AIM valid name. (They sold off ICQ which gave them lots of Bandwidth)
I would also ask what Font you have chosen to Send Messages in and what, if any, Incoming Override Font you are using ?
I would check in the Font Book whether the chosen Fonts are active.

How do I get the messaging to work with Mountain Lion?

I downloaded Mountain Lion. So far everything seems to be working properly but I can't seem to use the new messaging feature. I click on the message icon.....I can access my contacts (although it gives me NO choice of email address - seems to only pick AOL). I've tested it and the recipient doesn't receive the message nor do I see the message on any of my other devices. It's like something isn't syncing. Was I supposed to do something to start it......perhaps turn on a setting? anybody?? thanks.

Open Messages, select Messages from the App Menu and go to preferences.
Under accounts, you should have an iMessage account linked to your AppleID or iCloud account.
You may also need to click "enable this account" checkbox

Mail does not retreive messages after upgrading to Mountain Lion

I just upgraded my work iMac (2009) to Mountain Lion last night and now it will not retreive any messages from my work email account (POP). It was working fine yesterday (and for the past 3+ years) while I was still on Lion, but despite searching for answers and trying multiple solutions for several hours, I still cannot get it to work. Among other things, I have deleted and then added the account back (multiple times); restarted the Mac (multiple times); and zapped the PRAM, but nothing has fixed it yet.
When I select "Get Mail" from that mailbox and watch the Activity Monitor, it connects to the server, says "Fetching new mail", then "Preparing to retreive new mail", but it then just disappears after about about a minute and makes the "no mail" beep. There are no error messages, but I can see in the bottom "Mail Activity" window that it says it's downloading 40+ messages but nothing shows up. The mail account still works on my iPhone and I can check the mail on my webmail server, so I don't think it has anything to do with the server especially since it worked fine yesterday.
Any insight would be much appreciated because it's driving me crazy!!

I forgot to mention (and add a new level of strangeness) that Mail is retreiving all of my messages from my personal (AT&T) account without issue.
And I just discovered an even bigger problem: all of my emails from my Sent and other folders from my work account are completely gone!
I may have no choice but to revert to my Lion system as of yesteday, before I installed ML.

Grey blank page for some messages since upgrading to mountain lion

Just upgraded several days ago from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion (10.8.3) and I have notice that some email messages (Apple Mail) I only get a blank grey page. I know I have a lot of messages in my mail account and wonder if that might be the problem. Any help would be appreciated.

I tried rebuild but it did not help. I still have a grey empty page on some messages. They usually part of a conversation, I tried to uncheck the "organize by conversation" but I still randomly have that problem. Sometimes if I quit and reopen Mail it goes away but other times it doesn't. Is it possible that having a large number of messages in the inbox might be responsible?

Message app disappeared with Mountain Lion install attempt

I attempted to install Mountain Lion on my "early 2008" MacBook ... did not install, but somehow the iCloud Message app disappeared ... any ideas?

Sometimes restarting the router/modem can help with downloads.
However, if the connection is slow or flaky, it is difficult to get a clean download with a file that large.
