My iChat buddies dont show up and also having login problems.

I am having two problems with my ichat. My buddies dont sign online and I also experience the login problem where it opens and collapses many times and says that I have tried to logon too many times. Please help. I have searched this message board and thus far nothing that I have found has worked

Try logging on to AIM on port 443 rather than port 5190.
Go to IChat in the menu bar > Preferences > Accounts.
Log out of AIM and then use the Server Settings tab
Set the port to 443(press return/enter(you might have to tick and untick SSL for 443 to stick)).
Log back in again.

are you referring to the audio meters panel? im on windows, and i can right click the meters panel and get options for "dynamic peaks". there are audio effects, from the effects panel if thats what you are looking for? i have one named "Dynamics" as well as several compressors.

I have to restart mail most times before it starts recieving or recognizes the pop server.
As I said a lot of recipients do not recieve my mails when there is an attachment or when I reply to their email.

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions. To do this, click here and pick a method; if that page doesn't list one for your country or you're unable to call, fill out and submit this form.
They wouldn't be security questions if they could be bypassed without Apple verifying your identity.

When I drag a photo to the timeline on iMovie, a different photo appears. I've tried recreating thumbnails, and also created the problem photos in a test library.

When I drag a photo to the timeline on i-Movie sometimes a different photo, or even a video appear and sometimes it is just a black screen. I've tried recreating thumbnails, and even copied the problem photos into a test library, but still can't get it to work. Genius Bar kept my laptop 6 days and didn't do anything to help, just said the project was corrupt and I would need to recreate. Just tried a completely new project with totallty different photos and still experiencing the same problem. Anyone else had this issue?

Also having odd problems with AppleTV since iTunes8

I'm also having problems since the upgrade to iTunes8, but mine seem to be different than others recounted, so I'm adding a new post.
I purchased the recent Stargate and watched a few minutes, but stopped. When I went back to watch the rest, it and other already watched Stargate shows weren't accessible. When I connected iTunes, the new Stargate synced, and the older shows still showed, in the AppleTV list. Oddly enough, they also showed on the AppleTV.
However, when I closed iTunes, the shows no longer showed on AppleTV.
I have plenty of space, so that's not a problem. And the shows aren't removed from AppleTV. However, they're only showing up on AppleTV when iTunes is up and running.
I'm thinking that the syncing process between iTunes and AppleTV has been altered. Unfortunately, not without bugs. At least, I'm assuming the interface has changed--there's been nothing official from Apple.

Let me see if I can explain it more clearly for you.
I had a new TV show. I watched five minutes of it. Left. Came back. Went to watch it and it no longer showed in AppleTV. Now, this show isn't supposed to disappear when half watched.
This is all new behavior with iTunes8. In addition, with pre-iTunes 8 behavior, shows wouldn't be pulled from the AppleTV unless deleted from the iTunes, or running out of room.
So, no, iTunes 8.0 is definitely impacting on AppleTV, but not necessarily in a positive manner. In particular, the removing the TV show when it hadn't been completely watched was definitely not wanted behavior.

think the current itune version removed the feature and that you should use iclouds to sync your outlook stuff and your ios
but read they will be adding the direct sync from itunes again in the next version of itunes or something like that
for now just use icloud it's free and easy to setup

My Blackberry Z10 restarting itself & also having Network Problems

I have been using Blackberry Z10 for +/- 16 months now and I was happy with it from the beginning but as time goes on, it's frustrating me a lot as a result I sometimes question myself if I ever made the best decision for choosing "Blackberry" than other Cellphone Manufactures like Samsung or iPhone.
My Handset is running the latest OS Version: 10.2.1.3247 and I always update or upgrade it as soon as there's new release hoping that it will improve but that doesn't seem to help either. To add more salt on the wound, it keeps having Network problems during the night and weekends and I would much appreciate it if this problem could be resolved ASAP.

OK, I was having a very similar problem, and I had never done a security wipe since owning the phone. So, doing a security wipe cleared the issue up for me 99%. Once in a great while I will still get a restart. But it's very, very infrequent.
I know it can be a pain doing a security wipe, because it basically resets your phone (without effecting the OS) as if new -- but that means removing all your contacts, messages etc. So, be sure to back it up if you try it.
Also, be sure your battery isn't loose in the housing. I also has this issue (and it caused random restarts) so cut a tiny piece of a business card and shimmed the battery on the side opposite the contacts. Shimming the battery would be a simple fix, if it worked. So, maybe you'd want to try that first.

Setting the Airport into bridge mode won't affect the speed either way - that's a function of your internet connection and also your wireless signal. Bridge mode avoids the conflicts which arise when two routers are both trying to allocate IP numbers to the connected devices (this might cause speed loss, though more usually it simply prevents connection).
If you are only connecting wirelessly to the Airport you should if possible turn off the wireless on the Verizon as it's simply cluttering the airwaves.

Hi, I just upgraded to snow leopard and every time i add a buddy they show up offline. I know that they are online because there computer was right next to me and on the same network.

There can be several reasons.
In Snow Leopard/iChat 5 you don't have to chose the Type of Buddy you are Adding in any AIM Based List. You now type the Screen Name in full.
Examples
ralphjohnsr for AIM
[email protected] for the Older .Mac Service type email ID (It will not be a working Email unless they are using it with MobileMe.)
[email protected] if they are using a MobileMe (@me.com) name.
They could be set to Invisible in their Buddy List.
In their iChat > Preferences > Accounts > Security they could be set to "Allow Specific People" and you have not been added to that List.
You are in their Block List.
Also check your Block and Allow Lists.
The most common error is just misspelling the Buddy's Screen Name.
If they can See you in their Buddy List start a Text Chat then use the Buddies Menu and the Add item which will add the Screen Name connected to the "Right" Buddy List.

Icon not showing up (and also some of my images periodically)

Hello All;
I'm having two graphical issues with my App:
1) The Icon does not show up despite being referenced correctly and showing up fine in the simulator. Does it have to be a png of exactly the dimensions 57 x 57?
2) I have a bunch of different background images that get loaded into a view periodically during my app...and it seems some of them are not showing up sometimes, but only sometimes. These file are not small filesize wise so is that the problem? If I trim down the file sizes will that rectify the situation? On that point are there any guidelines regarding this sort of thing?

I am seeing the exact same thing. The Icon.png image appears white on the device and the images that the app loads are black. I run the sample apps on the device and the same thing happens. Running the code in the simulator works like a charm. So I dont think its code related. I think its an SDK/driver/OS configuration issue.
