My ichat lost it's freaken mind... im ******... please help

this morning... my computer ran out of battery... so it died.
I hook it up to a power source and then my ichat starts up likes it's the first time... with the 'welcome to ichat' ... so i click continue and my buddy list pops up and everything looks fine, until I go to IM someone... My font and my sounds are totally default again. Also, my away messages [all 20+ of them] are gone! I restarted my computer and looked for new updates ... nothing... I have searched and found nothing on the forums... if anyone knows what happened and knows how to fix it please let me know! Thanks.

I have never heard of this.
Do you use Time Machine ?
If so open Users/(your account)/Library/Preferences and then use QuickLook on the com.apple.ichat.plist and check if the Time Machine version has the Missing info.
If it does drag it to the above mentioned spot and use it to replcae the one you have.

First off, Apple doesn't support downgrading and it can potentially brick your phone. With that being said, if you created a back up in iOS 7 Beta and are trying to restore it to iOS6, you wont be able to. You need to upgrade first then restore from your backup. Don't be suprised if it doesn't work. There is a very real possibilty you may have to start from scratch.

Syncing to iTunes doesn't make delete your message or photos.
where you syncing to a different computer than the one you normally sync to?
Are you sure you weren't restoring instead of syncing.
If you have a backup of your phone that included those message or photos then use that backup.

Is your iPod online or offline? If it's offline or physically turned off; no power. Your only option is to physically go look for it. If your online and you set up find my iPhone with iCloud you should be able use that to help you, BUT if you did not set this up before you lost the iPod, I believe your back to physically go look for it, sorry. Imovie quit and i just lost my project... Please help

I was working on a trailer and imovie quit unexpectantly and when I reloaded my project was gone? Please help!! This has happened before but my project was always visible when i reloaded. I also noticed a different project i was working on is not showing up either.

Same thing happen to me. I went to 'Finder' clicked on the folder called 'Movies' and there should be a folder called 'Imovie Projects' my lost project was in that folder and I just clicked on it and it came back up in Imovie

Lost Contacts Through iCloud Sync. Please Help!

I've had an iPhone 4 for a while. The wife just took delivery of an iPhone 4S. We both use the same MacBook. We also both share the same Apple ID Account. I Sync'd my contacts with the Macbook sometime ago. When my wife changed over from her old iPhone 3G to her new 4S she sync'd contacts. Then she set up her new 4S and sync'd again. She got all her contacts and my old contacts! We both had iCloud Contacts enabled. The wife then went into her contacts on her iPhone and deleted all the unwanted contacts (My Contacts!). Now all I have left on my iPhone are her contacts! I've lost all mine!!! They Don't even appear in the Contacts App on the Macbook! Please help!

I just got off of the phone with Apple support. The one option they identified was to see if there was device back-up in iTunes. Here is how:
Open iTunes
Click on the iTunes in toolbar (top left of computer)
Open preferences
Open Devices
This should show the back-up compressed files by date
I had one from my original sync with the new 4S. Now, we did not go through the process as I may have another option to obtain my contacts through the Exchange server as this is my business phone. You can contact support and work with them as they were extremely helpful, and it was easy to schedule a meeting time.

Moved songs, lost in process.... please help!

I bought a laptop and tranfered my library from my desktop to it. I decided to make my laptop home and removed itunes from the desktop. Something went wrong with the laptop and I had to do a system recovery and lost everything. I still have all my songs on my ipod and I cant get any from my computer to my ipod and vice versa. PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!

If I'm understanding right your wanting to load the songs that are on your iPod to your laptop hard drive. If so this may help you in doing so...
1. Double-click on the My Computer icon on the Desktop.
2. Locate your iPod in the window that appears and select it.
3. Choose Folder Options from the Tools menu in the My Computer window.
4. Click the View tab in the Folder Options window that appears.
5. Look for the Hidden Files and Folders entry. Below this entry enable the Show Hidden Files and Folders option and click Apply to reveal the hidden files.
6. Dismiss the Folder Options windows by clicking the OK button.
7. Double-click the iPod’s icon in the My Computer window.
8. Move to the Finder and double-click on the iPod’s icon on the Desktop.
You’ll discover that several more items now appear in the iPod window. Among them is a folder called iPod_Control.
9. Double-click the iPod_Control folder.
Inside the iPod_Control folder you’ll find the Device, iTunes, and Music folders along with the iPodPrefs file.
10. Drag the Music folder to your Mac’s Desktop to copy it to your computer.
As the name implies, this is where music is stored on the iPod.
11. Return to iTunes and drag the Music folder you just copied to iTunes’ main window.
The songs you copied from the iPod will be added to iTunes. If you’re a tidy type, before copying those files to iTunes, open iTunes’ preferences, click the Advanced tab, and make sure the Keep iTunes Music Folder Organized and Copy File to iTunes Music Folder When Adding to Library options are enabled. Enabling these options will organize your iTunes library in the way iTunes prefers.

Ichat signs in and immediately disconnects! Please Help!!

Ever since I wiped my HD and reinstalled, ichat no longer works. It boots up "disconnected" and when I try to select "available" it logs on for a split second and then disconnects giving this error window:
"Lost Connection with AIM
The Connection to the host was unexpectedly lost."
I've double checked my .mac password. My connection is perfect with email, and browser,etc.
I've also thrown out all preferences, nothing changes...
What's going on?? Any ideas?

That would have been part of my next question - "is the IP the Port Forwarding in the modem points to the same as the IP the computer now has and does it list protocols to do so ?"
Devices that port Forwad AND list protocols sometimes have problems with port 5190 needing forwarding on TCP and UDP protocols and moving it in iChat to 443 is our normal recommendation.
443 is below 1024 which means Port Forwarding is not needed - so no more settings in the routing device.

I posted another question here asking for help so ignore it. I've lost my cd for my sound blaster audigy gamer card. I am trying really hard to enable my digital out on the card but can't without this software.

Why have my pdf files lost the Adobe pdf icon? Please help.

Hello all.
In transfering pdf files from my old PowerBook G4 to my new MacBook Pro, half of the pdf files now have a blank page as an icon. Also, all pdf files that I now create through print in Safari are blank. Nevertheless, all of these files open properly with Adobe Reader. This is the only type of file that lacks a proper icon. Why has the proper icon been lost & how do I solve this problem?

When you transfer files from another computer or over an FTP site or email, some of the info is sometimes lost. It's actually pretty rare from computer to computer but just about always happens on Internet transfers, although those mostly lose their icons.

Lost work on illustrator file..Please HELP!

I was working on a logo in Illustrator & had forgot to save it again...my laptop died, when I turned it back on & went to open the file a few days later all of my recent work on the file had been lost! Is there anyway to recover this work or would it have saved anywhere when my laptop shut off...if anyone has any ideas please let me know I have lost hours of work...thanks!

If it was never saved, it's irrevocably gone — it just doesn't exist anywhere any more.

There is no FT icon on the iPhone. You access FT on the phone from the individual contacts: click on the FT button in the contact you want to FT with.
Your Safari app is probably hidden in a folder or "lost" on a page. You cannot delete Safari. To find it: Swipe right from the first home screen. Type Safari on the search text input. To find the app:
Settings>>General>>Reset>>Reset Home Screen layout.
