My ichat no longer appears on my dashboard.
I went to click my iChat and it came up as a question mark. I dont remember doing anything to it and now it doesnt even appear on my desktop anymore. Any resolutions?

So the iChat icon in the DOCK does not display as iChat and only as a Question Mark ?
Is iChat still in the Application FOlder ?
Does that launch ?
If so drag the Question Mark Off the DOCK and drag the App back (This remakes the DOCK iCon and links to the App)

IPod no longer appears in Computer
I use my ipod touch as a portable external hard drive, but after i downloaded the 3.1.3 update, it no longer appears in Computer. Anyone know what is going on??
i tryed to update my ipode to the latest version yesterday and its locked now,it shows the itunes icon and the usb cable bur nothing.
I tryed to reebot but it shoes the same thing.

My Ipod is no longer appearing in Itunes. Everything was working fine last week, then all of sudden, I am no longer able to see my Ipod in Itunes.
The Ipod is running the latest firmware. It was updated with the latest Updater. Itunes is the latest version.
Unplugging, replugging does not work.
The Ipod battery is 100 % charged.
The ipod does not even appear in My Computer.
The Ipod works fine with existing songs that are downloaded on it.
The Ipod was working fine last week on the same computer. For the longest time, it was not working. Last week it worked. This week it no longer works. What is going on here?

what i'm thinking here is that it is possible that you've usually got a drive letter confusion. (so your PC doesn't recognise the ipod). but when that drive was added, it changed around the drive letter assignments. so you stopped having the drive letter confusion with the ipod (and you could recognise it again). when it was taken back off the system, the drive letter assignments changed again. so you went back to having the drive letter confusion problem with the ipod.

I have a MacBook Pro, 10.10.2 Yosemite. My external hard drive no longer appears on my screen or in Time Machine. I have gone into Disc Utility to repair disc, and get the message: Error: Partition map check failed because no slices were found. I was trying to follow Melophage's instructions by going into "Terminal" and entering "diskutil list; diskutil cs list; mount" and "diskutil info disk2." I am looking for some help with the app store. I recently purchased an app (aperture) in the app store and subsequently apple refunded the purchase price. However, the downside of this is that aperture no longer appears as a "purchased" app within my app store account. Accordingly, i don't believe i will get updates as the software is updated periodically. Apple has instructed me to delete all my aperture files, reboot and then revisit the app store to re-download and it should let me pay for the app and redownload just as if i had never had the app before. However, when i go to purchase aperture, i get a warning that it has already been purchased and that i can re-download for free. That sounds great but again it won't appear in the "purchased" list in the app store b/c of the original refund from apple. I never thought i would have this much trouble trying to pay someone for a product!
Questions:
Is the app store looking to my hard drive for traces of aperture to determine whether it has been purchased or is it looking at some kind of purchase history within the app store?
Is there anyway to wipe my hard drive clean of aperture files or wipe clean my app store purchase history so that i can start over?
If none of this is possible, does anyone have a possible solution?

1. Do you have a backup connected to your Mac that contains the app? If so, yes the MAS can detect that and believes that the app is installed.
2. If the app no longer appears in the purchase history on the Purchased pane in the MAS, then it would seem that Apple has taken care of that.
4. Updates, such as you describe are free. Upgrades are not. An upgrade is a new paid version of the app, such as v 3.0 to v 4.0. -

Hi there, my Apple TV (1st Gen) no longer appears in itunes 10.
I have looked at as many of the forums as I can and I have followed all the advice to reset Apple TV, router and PC. No joy. I have then restored Apple TV, uninstalled and reinstalled itunes, checked router ports etc. but still no joy.
The Apple TV is connected to my network just fine (I can download movie trailers etc.), my PC is connected to the network just fine (itunes store opens and I can shop). However, the Apple TV does not appear in the devices list on the LHS of the itunes window, there is no Apple TV tab in preferences and I cannot locate my library (not listed) on the Apple TV.
Basically I have tried everything I can find to try to solve this, but no joy. Please can someone help me as this is driving me crazy?If you've reset AppleTv, have you actually set up the sync/share computer again?
If not go to Settings>Computers and add a new library - a 5 digit code will appear for you to enter in itunes.
The top computer entry in the list syncs and streams, the others only stream. If you plan to purchase anything make sure you have an entry for sync/stream as streaming only libraries may not transfer AppletV purchases.

I recently updated to 10.8.2 and now my notes from my iphone no longer appear in my mail nor do my calender appointments. Is there any way to change it so they will appear?
If it has the same (bad) behavior on two different systems then there is a very good chance that the drive is toast.
BTW you'll get better response to your questions if the question actually reflects the problem you are having. In this case it would have been better to say you couldn't access the drive rather then that it doesn't show on the desktop.

When I upgraded to IOS5, my playlists no longer appear on the iPOD. When I do a Sync, the playlists appear, but will not sync to the iPOD. Any suggestions on how to resolve??
I would understand it if you checked email on your Mac, and then those messages were not available on your iOS devices if you had the advanced account setting "remove copy from server after retrieving message:" set to immediately.
I looked through my iPhone settings and don't even see an option to tell my phone to pull the only copy of a message and delete it from the server.
Possibly there is another setting in Lion (I am running Snow Leopard still) that tells your Mac to only synchronize mail to your iOs devices and is not pulling mail directly from iCloud.
You could try disabling your current iCloud email account in Mac Mail, and adding a new one and just telling Mail it is a standard IMAP account (imap.mail.me.com incoming and smtp.mail.me.com outgoing).
I did that for Leopard to get my email even to work after MobileMe is cancelled and it seems to work fine with my iPhone.
If that doesn't work, you can delete that new email account and re-enable the temporarily disabled iCloud email account from above.

External Hard Drive No longer Appearing on Macbook Pro
Hello, I have a Iomega ldhd-up 1TB external hard drive which I have owned for about 3-4 years. The enclosure case of the hard drive is very poorly designed and the port for the USB cable does not fit the cable tightly. Over the years I often would have to turn off the hard drive and adjust the cord so it would appear on my computer. (yes i know its a bad idea to turn it off without unmounting, but i didn't have much choice)
However, as of today, it is no longer appearing at all no matter what I do. (not on the desktop, or disk utility, or anywhere). It is making the same sounds and the light on the external is showing up as if should be working though.
Does anyone have a fix for this or suggestions to make my hard drive appear and function again. Any help would be much appreciated! Thank you.Since you have had a history of connection problems with the Iomega, get a new enclosure for the HDD. That of course assumes that the HDD is functional.

I have not seen this precise issue addressed anywhere. I don’t know if it’s an iTunes or an iPod problem:
- Some, but not all, podcasts existing on the iPod no longer appear in iTunes;
this, after normal behavior for more than a year since purchase of the iPod.
- Different podcasts have been affected at different times, after changes in the state of the iPod.
- Only podcasts are affected.
- This concerns an iPod nano 6th gen. and iTunes 11.0.2 (26) on System 10.6.8
- The only change to iTunes, the Mac, or the iPod is that just before this condition began
I’d begun syncing an iPhone via iTunes.
I sync manually (“manually manage music and videos”). The first time this happened, I wanted to delete seventeen podcast episodes (all belonging to one podcast) existing on the iPod — but they didn’t show up in iTunes. I tried re-downloading them and re-syncing, to see if the new versions would somehow “re-link” to iTunes. They didn’t. Only one — new — episode appeared in iTunes.
I ultimately reset the iPod and manually resynced all the podcasts I currently had on iTunes. That worked, though I had to painstakingly add in all the other content deleted by the reset.
So: after that reset and manual sync, all podcasts and episodes on the iPod were visible to iTunes and I was able to delete the podcast and its — now 18 — episodes I’d wanted to get rid of to begin with. But the next time I connected the iPod, only 8 podcast episodes out of 21 episodes total existing on the iPod were visible to iTunes. These are different podcasts; I’d deleted the original “invisible” ones.
By “visible,” I mean in the “Podcasts” list view under “[name]’s iPod” in the iTunes sidebar. If I select “[name]’s” iPod in the iTunes sidebar and the “Podcasts” tab, all podcasts and episodes are visible, though greyed out because I’m set to sync manually. It’s unclear to me if these are the podcasts on the iPod or those currently in iTunes, as they are currently the same. If I switch to syncing automatically, all content on the iPod will be lost again, so I’m not up to trying it at the moment.
As I said, this involves only podcasts. All other content on the iPod does appear in iTunes.I have the same problem- i see my movies in the ipod section in itunes and they even show as mpeg4 in the 'kind' section but they dont have that small TV icon next to them. if i play these in itunes, they play fine- but try playing them on the ipod and all you hear is the sound and no picture. All videos that i manually transfer work fine in the beginning- its when i hook up the ipod to the comp again and start itunes- they start showing up without the 'tv' icon!! i have to again transfer them from the itunes library to activate them as videos.

Suddenly external/remote images in Dreamweaver CS3 no longer appear when viewed in Design View.
All I get now is grey boxes!
I have tried toggling 'Display External Files' on and off, made sure Cache is off (tried it with on too) and nothing seems to make a difference.
