My ichat sent me a message that aim is logged on two devices?

I only use ichat/aim on my imac but a message popped up today saying im in two locations at once. Has someone hacked my account? O

    Umm,, no offence... but what is ridiculous...  is you didn't troubleshoot the original problem but instead you assumed it was a LP9 problem so you updated to LPX which is still in its early days and is likely to be less stable than LP9... rather than more so!
    So.. Here's the thing.... 
    LP9 was working fine and then stopped working normally according to you. Therefore what changed at the time LP9 stopped working normally?
    Here are just a few ideas to think about.. for around the time this started..
    Did you update Logic Pro 9... OS X... Drivers for Midi/Audio or other connected devices?
    If you did, did you then restore from a backup you made prior to these problems occuring and what happened when you did so? (assuming you do make backups of your system?)
    Did you install any new Apps on your Mac?
    Did you add a new Hard Drive? How is it formatted?
    Did you start recording or creating music in a different way to how you used to before the problem started?
    Have you started using a different SI or FX plugin or plugins.. More or different FX for example.. Did you install a new version of a plugin?
    Is all your software legal? (Have to ask because some people install all kinds of illegal plugins and whatever else.. and have no idea how the 'cracks' work or what they might affect/mess up/conflict with in the process)
    Have you looked at the System logs to see if anything is happening out of the ordinary when you get these messages?
    Have you looked at OS X's Activity monitor to see if any app or routine is kicking in hard when you get this issue?
    Basically, you need to think about and look for what changed... because something apparently changed to suddenly cause these issues...given you said you didn't have them until a certain timeframe and some of the questions above, I hope, will get you thinking..
    ....and maybe a few of the others here will come up with other ideas and suggestions to help you...

    I would like to change the email wording (in the subject line & message body) that is sent out when an agreement has been fully e-signed by all parties. The current message is that "the agreement betweenn XXXX & YYYY is signed and filed!" I would like to remove the filed bit as this may be misleading to my clients. Many thanks in advance.

    When I receive a text it tells me I have a message waiting. Is there anyway the 5530 can tell me who the sender of the message is?

    Commonly you probably have 2 of every contact so the mobile doesn't know which to display - check your contacts.
    Most commonly this is because contacts are on your sim and phone the best way to solve this problem
    go into;
    Contacts->Options->Settings->Conctacs to Display
    then chose phone memory only
    Note you may want to copy all the contacts from sim to phone first to make sure you have all your contacts

  • In my messages App, AIM is logged in fine but Google Chat won't connect.

    In my Messages app, for the Google chat it just keeps attempting to connect and then times out before repeating the process over and over.
    If I go to my actual Gmail tab in my broswer, it logs in to Google Chat just fine, so I know it's possible to connect.
    This problem only happens when I travel (I'm a comedian). I have no issues on my home network, but I've seen this when connecting in some hotels, airports, and coffee shops (not all).
    Any idea why I can't connect to Google Chat in Messages, but can in my browser?

    HI,
    A Browser Login to Google is going to using port 443 to manage the secure bit about the Login process.
    For much of the lifetime of iChat the regular posters in the iChat Forums were recommending changing to port 443 for AIM Logins and in iChat 6  it did actually become the default Login port.
    Jabber Logins (and GoogleTalk is a Jabber server) happen on either port 5222 when they don't use SSL and port 5223 when they do.
    Google do so the default port is 5223.
    In a router the first 1024 ports are open (Allows Web Browsing, mostly port 80, Mail (loads of different ports but 25, 110 m 567, 589, 995 and some common ones) FTP on port 21 and 22, to name some).
    Obviously port 5223 is above the 1024 threshold
    This can mean in some places this port will not be open.
    In some cases you will be able to convince the Hotel or Cafe to open the required ports
    At home you have probably got UPnP set to Enabled in your router.  (This allows the apps to "tell" the router which ports to open.)
    However whilst travelling you may want to log in to GoogleTalk on port 443  (GoogleTalk will accept this)
    You have to Disable (Untick the "Enable this account" box) the account to be able to change the port.
    It still works with SSL.

  • I have updated to the latest OIS on my IPad but cannot install the update for ITunes.  I get error messages that I must log on as administrator (don't know how) and I can't use my ITunes now. Help please

    I have updated to the lastest OS on my IPad3. No problem there. Then found I could no longer access my Itunes as there was a message 'Cannot be used as it requires version 10.6.3 or later. Go to ... and download'.  I have tried four times and it won't work.  I get another message saying I must sign in as administrator or contact my system administrator.  I am the only one who uses this PC and have no idea what my administrator password is.  Now I cannot use ITunes.     Many thanks diesel.  I cannot remember ever having an administrator password. Looks like I shall have to do a restore on my PC and not bother with the updates.  Or maybe I could find my password from somewhere ? When I went into control panel I found a box with administrator and my name and it said password protected so I must have had one at some time. Any ideas on how I could find it ? Many thanks anyway. I always use a password to sign on but obviously that is not it.  Eileen

  • I have a message that says "console.log:mikenote:prod" or something similar, that pops up on every page I go to, and it will often freeze up Firefox.

    I am currently at my winter residence. I took my laptop with me, and I prefer using Firefox over Internet Explorer. I had no problems checking my email through Roadrunner webmail until the last couple of weeks, then this issue began. When I get this message and try to X out or leave the page, it makes a very annoying sound. Now, it often freezes the page, and I have to restart the computer. Today, I tried looking at my email on Internet Explorer and I was successful. However, I would much rather use firfox. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    I had an upgrade to my system and it changed my logging into the server to every 10 minutes. Can you reset it on your end so I can use my email again. We fixed the logging into the server so that will not happen again. I cannot send or receive emails on Thunderbird and I also get a connection to server has timed out when I try to send an email.     I create a lot of project folders where i keep all my conversations regarding the project. Once the project is finished i would like to just delete the folder and get rid of all the emails associated with it but when i delete the folder i've noticed that only received messages are deleted. Now I am stuck trying to sort through my sent folder for messages that were returned there after the conversations was supposedly deleted.

    Mail/Preferences/Viewing - un-check include related messages, delete the folder, then go back and reset yo include.

    If the User ID across the top is not AOLSystemmsg it is not from AIM
    It does sound like it is some form of Bot (AN Automated response add-on) that some one is running on a PC
    In iChat Menu > Preferences > Accounts > Security you could try Allow Buddy List only.
    Unfortunately this may not be enough.
    The AIM Servers and the AIM app on a Mac and on a PC has an Automatic Group called Recent Buddies.
    By Default this group is not included in those that are displayed in iChat (Use View Menu "Show Groups")
    However these bots are clever enough to get added to the Group and therefore will get displayed or allow contact due to the fact the group is not active so the Block is ineffective.
    Solution can be two ways
    1) Using AIM on a PC or AIm for Mac on a Mac delete Buddies that show in the Recent Buddies group (Drag any "good Names" to the proper groups first otherwise they will get deleted as well) (It is also possible to have people/Buddies in more than one group with the AIM application)
    2) In later versions of iChat in iChat Menu > Preferences > Accounts > Account Info tab near the bottom is the option to turn On the Recent Buddies group.
    You need to be displaying the Buddy List with Show Groups.
    Again move Good Names to the required Group and then use th Plus sign at the bottom of the Buddy List > Edit Groups and delete it there.
    This should then allow your Block settings to work properly.

    If the modem is also a router, either use the modem in bridge and run pppoe client on the TC.. that is assuming ADSL or similar eg vdsl. If it is cable service.. and the modem is a router, then bridge the TC.. go to internet page and select connect by ethernet and below that set connection sharing to bridge.
    Please tell us more about the modem if the above gives you issues.
