My iCloud Account did not change to my new Apple ID. What do I do now?

My iCloud account did not change from my old Apple ID to the new Apple ID, that I recently set up. What do I do now?

Roger provided you with the steps to get your new ID signed onto iCloud on your Mac. If you have any devices that still have that old iCloud ID still signed on, you will have to do the following for those:
1.     Go to Manage your Apple ID and sign in with your current ID and password, then change your Apple ID back to the old ID (the one that is still showing on iCloud). This is temporary so, do NOT verify the ID, do NOT change the password: Apple - My Apple ID
2.     Go to Settings>iCloud and sroll down to the bottom of the page and click on Delete Account. Use your current Apple ID passoword when asked. Follow the prompts to complete the deletion of the iCloud account
3.     Go back to Manage your Apple ID and change your ID back to your new ID (you may have to verify it again)
4.     Go back to Settings>iCloud and sign on with your new Apple ID. Everything will be pushed back to your device from your iCloud account - it make take a few minutes

    Then temporarily recreate the old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  (You should not have to verify the old email account so it doesn’t matter if you no longer have access to it.)  Now go to Settings>iCloud, turn off Find My iDevice and enter your current password when prompted (even though it prompts you for the password for your old ID).  Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Sign Out (or Delete Account if you are not running iOS 8) and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign back in with your current iCloud ID and password (your data will download back to your device).

    Again, this only affects you if someone *redownloaded* content with a different ID. In my case, I emailed iTunes Store support, explained the situation, and they reset the counter.  I recommend you try the same
    If you read discussion boards, this is a significant change from a year ago, when Apple told people in the same situation to go f&$# themselves.  Clearly it's dawning on them that this is a stupid policy, and my guess is if people keep complaining they'll change it to something more reasonable.  Remember, it wasn't that long ago you couldn't re-download content at all.
    Apple can't really afford to play hardball on this. Sure, the hardcore fanboys will always say "Thank you sir, may I have another" whatever Apple throws at them,  but the rest of us will just switch to Amazon, which has none of these restrictions.

    To change the iCloud ID on your iOS devices, go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, then sign back in with the new ID.  This deletes the account and your iCloud data from your device, but not from iCloud.  Provided you are signing back into the same account, your data will reappear on your device when you sign back in.
    To avoid losing photo stream photos, save these to your camera roll (if not already there) before deleting the account (tap Edit, tap the photos, tap Share, tap Save to Camera Roll).

    When you changed the email address it sends a verification email to your account. Did you read this and click the link? It has to be done on laptop or desktop computer, not the ios devices. Make sure you choose "Use Existing Appleid" when signing in. It would be nice knowing which appleid sign in you are having issues with. There are a few. Even just tell us what you tap on to get to the message.

  • Folder Redirection did not update to the new server

    hello  guys, I had migrated quite some time ago to a new server.
    I thought everything works fine, basically the server functionality DNS, Replication and other stuff works fine.
    But I notice that some of the workstation did not actually update its folder redirection to the new server.
    Their desktop and my documents still points to the old server.
    So their offline files, is becoming larger and larger.
    I have some workaround but it's a lot of work. Question is, why those Win 7 workstation folder redirection did not update to the new server.
    What should be the best practice? During the migration process from the old server to the new server, all workstation should be turned on? 
    Or any tools to update  those workstation to the new server without losing their files?
    Basically, just editing the registry to point to the new server will help. But it means losing their current files and whatever old stuff that is on the server will be the one that will be shown on their desktop and documents.

    Hi biswajeetpattnaik, before migration it was Windows 2003.
    Then I introduce Windows 2008.
    Then I introduce a new Windows 2012.
    Now Windows 2012 is the main DC.
    Actually, everything is under control right now.  As what I said on my first post, I manage to do some work around.
    The only question I have on mind, is how on earth this thing happen.
    I was assuming, that the workstation will be able to point to the new server, without any glitch since everything is working fine.
    And the GPO was applying on the workstation. If I type gpresult /v on the workstation is it being applied. Even if I run GP Modelling it is also shows on the result that the folder redirection is being applied.
    But to my surprise the folder redirection still points to old server, if I have not discovered it then it would be difficult if some files will get lost.

    Thank you Roger, your solution gave me the courage to sign out of Systems Preferences.  The pop up told me it was going to delete my contact and other information from my mac, so I was hesitant to do that.  Well I did as you directed and I was able to sign in with my new apple id and I did not lose the information the pop up threatened I was going to.  So again thank you.  It is the little things that make a big difference sometimes.

    If you mean that Find My Phone is asking for a password to a different Apple ID to your current Apple ID and that ID is a previous version of your current ID, not an entirely different one.
    This feature has been introduced to make stolen phones useless to those that have stolen them.
    However it can also arise when the user has changed their Apple ID details with Apple and not made the same changes to their iCloud account/Find My Phone on their device before upgrading to iOS 7, or if you restore from a previous back up made before you changed your details and some other circumstances.
    The only solution is to change your Apple ID back to its previous state with Apple at My Apple ID using your current password, you don’t need access to this address if it’s previously been used with your Apple ID, once you have saved these details enter the password as requested on your device and then turn off "find my phone" and delete the account from your device. It may take a short while to remove the account.
    You should then change your Apple ID back to its current state, save it once again and then log back in using your current Apple ID. Finally, turn "find my phone" back on once again.

    Save any photo stream photos to your camera roll (tap Edit, tap the photos, tap Share, tap Save to Camera Roll), then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, then sign back in with your other ID.  This deletes the account and any synced data from your device, but not from iCloud.  Provided you are signing back into the same account and not changing accounts, your data will be synced back to your device when you sign back in.  If you are changing accounts, choose Keep on My iPhone when you delete Account, then choose Merge when you sign into the other account to upload the data to the new account.
