Apps can't be deleted from iCloud as they only reside in the App store.  Also, the apps themselves aren't taking up space in your iCloud account.  They only thing in your iCloud account would be the app data that is backed up as part of their iCloud backup, but this generally doesn't use much space.  You can check how much is being used, and eliminate specific apps from being included in the backup, by going to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>Manage Storage on their device, tapping the name of their device under Backups, then checking the apps listed under Backup Options (tap Show All Apps to see them all).  Turn an app to Off to exclude its app data from being backed up.

  • TS4036 I have had to do a factory reset on my ipad3,when i restored via i.cloud not all my apps were restored how can i get them back, they show on the back up list on my ipad in icloud, any help is appreciated thanx,   Andrew

I took my Ipad to my local Apple store as it would not d`load or update apps. They factory restored it,on icloud backup restore not all my apps were restored including some i`d paid for, they show up on my list of appsin icloud, how can i get them back? any help very welcome, thanx...Andrew

Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430

  • For an iCloud and/or Windstream email account, how can I delete emails across multiple devices, without having to go to each device?

I have a friend with an iCloud email account and Windstream account on both her iPad and iPhone... She's saying that when she deletes an email from one device, it doesn't delete it from the other automatically... She's using both emails through the "Mail, Contacts and Calendars" settings under the "Settings" menu; not through apps...  I've had her check both of her email account settings to make sure that the settings were consistent... I've never had this issue with Exchange or Gmail, and I don't use the iCloud email account, so I'm a little unfamiliar with what else to look at... Can someone offer some advice, please?
    Thank you for your help!

IMAP is the mail protocol that allows you to delete a message one place and have it delete everywhere else. iCloud uses IMAP, so it should be working. If the messages never delete, then something may be incorrect in the settings. The easiest thing to do with iCloud is to logout of the account on every device, and then login again. (Another common problem with iCloud email is people often have two Apple IDs, and thus may have two iCloud email accounts. If you get confused about which one you're using, you may think you've deleted email when you actually haven't.)
If the iCloud messages do ultimately delete across all devices, then it could be that some devices aren't set to "Push" but are instead set to "Fetch" the newest info from the server. Fetch can be set to as long as an hour between check-ins.
The same holds true for Windstream if she's using an IMAP account there, too. If it's a POP account, then deleting a message one place will never delete it anywhere else—that's the way POP works.

  • How can I email from my default email without having to switch from my icloud account.

I have an iphone 4s and I have made my default email a gmail account.  However, whenever I go to send an email from my phone, it defaults to my icloud account.  I can switch it manually but why should I have to switch manually to a non default email account every time I want to send an email?  Is there a way to send emails with my gmail account being the default address being sent from instead of my icloud email?  I have already made gmail my default email and my iphone mail app has no problem uploading inbox emails.

  • Icloud storage for more backup

I bought extra icloud backup storage with credit card, and apple already deducted my credit card meaning already charged money to my card, but i waited about half an hour already, still the storage plan not reflected to have the extra space i bought, i bought 20 gb which cost USD 0.99 monthly,  what should i do to enquiry on this..

Thank you. I will try it... I'm trying Not to use my credit/debit card online.. I have both iTunes credit & App Store card credit on my iTunes I hope this works! I don't want my storage down graded before I can get another iTunes card.. I wish they had an extension date for few days.. (More personal note - single mom,y child is sick & so not going to store in the next few days to purchase iTunes card..)
Why wouldn't they allow App Store credit to be used since its used to buy apps & songs via iTunes.. Seems kinda misrepresenting to be an apple card that connects all these apps & devices together, but you can only utilize iTunes card credit or credit/debit card for iCloud...!!??

  • HT5824 What is the capacity of ICLoud?  Can more be purchased?

What is the capacity of ICLoud?  Can more be purchased?

iCloud isn't a general file storage service.  It syncs data (contacts, calendars, notes, reminders, etc.) across iOS devices and computers sharing the account to keep your data consistent as you make changes on any of them.  It also streams photos to your devices, provides an option to back up your devices, and an optional IMAP email account.  It's also designed for personal rather than business use.  Given it's purpose, 55GB is more than enough space for almost all users.

  • Icloud not really much Space

Hi i dont know if you guys have the same problem but i believe Apple must to fix this.
    Today i have 1 Iphone 4, 1 Iphone 4gs, 1 Ipad, and 2 Mac Book Air.
if i create one account per Each Device i will have 5 GB Icloud per Device, but if i use the same account i just have 5 Gb for all the Device.
why Apple not help us to have a lot of devices adding the Space per Device and not per USER.
all the devices i use because i need to travel a lot, and for that reason i have different Chips for the Iphones. (in different countries ) and its really hard to use with the Same Space.
can some one know if i can have more space without pay?
    br.

Nope.  Right now, that's how it works...5GB per account, not per device.  If you would like to see this changed, you can give this feedback to Apple here: http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html.

  • Can I use the same iCloud account on more than one PC?

I'm new to iCloud. I use Apple devices but a PC both at home and work. I'd like to have the same iCloud account on both PCs, but not sure if I can do this. Can anybody clarify please?
    Thank you.

Yes, you can use the same iCloud account on more than one device. Thats actually the basic idea of iCloud, syncing and exchanging data of different devices without a cable. E.g. your address book on the iPhone is modified and you computer gets the changes via iCloud…
    enjoy

  • I have songs from icloud showing on more than one device but only want them on one so how do i delete them

Can some tell me how i can not have the songs showing on more than one device for my account

    Krshrtr wrote:
it wont let you swipe to the left on songs that have the cloud next to them
That's correct - it only deletes them from your phone, not from iCloud
If you go into Settings, Music and set Show All Music to Off, you will only see the songs that are actually on the phone.
One other tip - once you've deleted the songs/lists you no longer want, restart the phone (hold the Home and Sleep buttons for about 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears) to make sure the songs are gone.

  • HT4436 Can there be more than on iCloud account on a computer?  I have an iCloud account with my iPhone and would like to view my photo stream on my husbands mac.  I do not have a mac but an older PC

Can there be more than one icloud account on a computer?  I have an icloud account with my iphone but would like to view my photo stream on my husbands mac.  I do not have a mac but an older PC. thanks

    Welcome to the Apple community.
The simple answer is yes you can. On a single user computer, the user can have secondary iCloud accounts, which they can add through the system preferences > mail, contacts and calendars. The only drawback here is that only the primary iCloud account can use photo stream. This can be worked around by having a second user account on the Mac. Each user account could then have a different primary iCloud account, one for you and one for him, your account could then receive your photo stream pictures.
Are you also aware that you can have iCloud on your PC and download your photos stream pictures to it.

    Welcome to the Apple community.
When you delete the account from your device, you will be given the opportunity to save Safari data, reminders, calendars and contacts to your device, which you can later merge with the other account once you login.
You won't be able to save your photo stream photos in the same way, so if you have any photo stream photos that are not already in your camera roll, you should move them there before you delete your account.
Your iWork documents can be saved to iTunes on your device, but if you have them on a Mac they would be much easier to save to your desktop there. You can move them back after you switch.
Notes can be shared to messages or mail and copy and pasted back after the switch. Although if you have a Mac, you may find it easier to do there. You could also use a temporary secondary account (see last item) to log into both accounts and copy and paste directly into your other account.
You can set up Mail forwarding at iCloud.com mail preferences (little gear icon-bottom left) to receive mail from your old address to your new one.
As an alternative to just switching, you might consider switching and adding your previous account back as a secondary account at settings > mail, contacts, calendars. You would still need to move your photos and iWork documents and save your safari data, but you'd have access to your old mail, contacts, calendars, reminders and notes.
