the icons are missing but the text are there. i tried creating new user, clearing up the cache..but still no icon..im using the mac os lion on my macbook pro 2011..someone please help me..thanks

First, using Disc Utility... try a Permissions Repair, followed by a Restart...

Get Info (cmd-i) on one of these files. In the "Open with" tab is PS selected?
If that's so it may be some corruption LaunchServices.These are only cache files but can get corrupted.
Launch /Utilities/Terminal and copy & paste this at the command line to rebuild LaunchServices:
(EDIT: Be sure to copy the entire line of code it is a slider)

All my icons are missing from the Menu bar.. help!

Today I noticed that all my icons are missing from the right hand side of my screen. There is no Wifi, Bluetooth, clock, or Spotlight! How does this happen?!?

Jpeg preview icons are jagged in the Finder

I'm going through my images, archiving some, tossing others. I've come across a folder full of jpeg images where the icons are so jagged you can't see what the image is. Most of my other jpeg preview images are okay, and when I Get Info (from Finder) the preview shown for the sus images is also okay.
I've asked in the Apple forums whether I could ask the Finder to go through all these images and update the icon, but no joy so far.
When I open an image and Save As in Photoshop, the icon is okay – but being jpeg, I assume the image will be recompressed, and therefore the quality (already borderline from my 10-year-old 2 MP camera) will be degraded further. Also, I don't want to convert to Tiff as I want to save space by archiving the original jpeg just as it came out of the camera.
So, how do I "reicon" these preview images in the Finder so that they look normal, but without recompressing? Can Photoshop update the preview of a jpeg image, but not the image data?

You've certainly covered all the bases but if you haven't done so try this. Grab your Tiger restore disk and insert it in to the optical drive. When it mounts double click it. When the window opens follow this path: System/Library/Core Services/CoreTypes.bundle. Select the CoreTyples. bundle and then press Cntrl + C. Then go to a clear space on your Desktop and press Cntrl + V. That will copy that file to your Desktop. Now, double click your MacintoshHD icon or use a Finder window and follow that same path. Remove the original CoreTypes.bundle and replace with the one you just created on the Desktop. Run Disk Utility and Repair Disk Permissions... Reboot... my fingers are crossed that this works.

Try a reset by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.

In elements 11 all my icons are missing under the expert tab in the panel bins, How can I get these back?

Go to
C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\11.0
and delete the
ThumbDatabase.db3
Then go to
C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\11.0\Locale\en_us
and delete the
MediaDatabase.db3
Then start the photoshop elements 11 editor and wait till the effects database rebuilds, which could take awhile, like 10 to 20 minutes, so just pse 11 idle so to speak until it completes.

Make sure your phone is connected to the computer and iTunes is open
1. Visit Instagram.com from your computer web browser
2. Click "Download in the app store"
3. It will download and show up in your iTunes
4. Highlight and sync the app to your iPhone (note: it will not show up on your phone, even after it says syncing is complete).
5. In iTunes, select the Instagram icon and click "Remove" or "Uninstall"
6. Click Accept and Uninstall when it asks you to confirm as it will remove instagram and its data from your iPhone
7. Disconnect the phone from the computer
8. Manually reboot the phone after exiting all apps
9. Upon re-start, you will be able to access the app in the App Store, and install it

On my ipad, some of my purchased apps icons are missing. The app store indicates that the apps were purchased so i cannot install them again. How do I get the icons back?

- Are the apps missing or are the icons white?
- If missing have yu tried using the Spotlight search and trying to find them?
- Have you tried downloading them on your iPad and then syncing?
- Have you tried deleting them on the computer and then syncing? That might also delete them from the iPad so you can redownal them
- Have you tried reetting the iPad?

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. Main icons are missing

Just a week ago all the main icons were disappeared! Many icons are missing, like desktop-icon, programs-icon, all the map-icons and so on. The standard program-icon and the documents-icon in the dock is turned to a question mark and in Finder only external icons from applications are shown. Is there a chance that I removed these icons accidentally? And how can I get them back?

Updated to IOS 5 and app icons are missing

I upgraded last night and now some of my app icons are missing. If I do a spotlight search and find the app I can then launch the app from there but I would like to have the icon back to use rather than a workaround.

After the IOIS 5.0 update my apps weren't showing on my device until I tabbed thru several screens on the phone. The only other issue was when I did a "restore" to new , not from backup because I was issues with the update (Bugs) Did a update and my apps didn't show until I did a " File" ................Transfer Purchases from Iphone.....with the device connected to ITunes...........then Sync................ UI elements are missing in the layout of a view

Hi Guys,
I've downloaded New SAP NetWeaver 7.01 SP0 ABAP Trial Version. After three times installation, I gave up.
And I downloaded New SAP NetWeaver 7.01 SP3 ABAP Trial Version, it took more time than SP0 to install. Finally, it works.
Then I read this blog, /people/dirk.feeken/blog/2007/07/20/abap-trial-version-for-newbies-part-18--starting-with-web-dynpro-for-abap, to develop a Web Dynpro report. After copy the context from component controller to view, I couldn't find UI elements in the view.
What I could see in the layout of the view are:
CONTEXT_MENUS
ROOTUIELEMENTCONTAINER
Does anyone know how to find the UI elements?

Having the same problems where the UI elements are missing in the layout screen.
using the Show/Hide layout Preview Button I get an Program cannot display the web page.
The server is on a different box . Tried running the sapgui from a vista machine and a xp machine and they both have the same problem.
If I run Sapgui on the server box the Show/Hide layout Preview Button does show a subset on the ui elements but not all the examples described in the "ABAP Trial Version for Newbies: Part 18 - Starting with Web Dynpro for ABAP"

When syncing my iTunes to my iPad from the laptop, I get a list of missing songs; they are in the library, but not in the music folder on my HD. In particular, I uploaded 3 CDs at the same time, all are in my library - but two are missing from the folder.

It sounds like your issue here is that iTunes can not find the files for some of the songs you have brought into it. This happens occasionally even if the songs have not been moved from the location that iTunes places them on import or purchase. When you try to use the song, iTunes prompts you to find the file, as you have seen.
To find the file, use the information in this article to navigate through the iTunes media folders -
Locate and organize your iTunes files
If you are still unable to locate the files, you may need to download them from the iTunes store again, or rip them from your CDs. See this article for assistance with downloading your past purchases -

It is a Total Misconception that the Support files are installed when you are installing Windows, even if the USB drive that holds them is inserted in the system when doing the Windows install.
You must always Run the Setup.exe files from the support files or run the drivers individually once Windows has finished installing and booted to the desktop.
Also you really need to run the Boot Camp Control Panel Applet and check for updates as not all the newest drivers for full function of all the hardware is included with the original support download. That download is basically a generic version to get the system working and without doing the updates not everything will work properly.
