My idea u310 Pc has recently experienced slow running system.

This pc was bought nearly a year some ago, it had been dead for multiple times even since several months ago, sometimes the mouse cursor became a circle running, sometimes the screen frozens, sometime my pc screen went black,I heard abnormal noises coming out of my pc hardware but not sure which of it is problematic.
Anyway I finally decided to onekey recover my pc, and it was successfully recovered, however my screen frozens again in the initial setup procedures when I was almost finished registering my name and new password, then it turned to black screen, a window of boot menu and app menu then shows up, not knowing the meaning of it, I am now stuck here, and I am helpless, been looking for helping thread over the Internet, but there are too much informations out there that are really helpful for me, I really wish if some of you who experienced the same problem can share your methods that solved your problem, I really would like to attach a few screenshots showing my pc screen, as a first time user, I beg for your understanding and excuse my English, thank you everyone

Hi JerryChicken,
Welcome to Lenovo Community!
As per the query we understood that you are facing issue with system is very slow.
Try to perform a power drain by removing the external devices and try to power on the system by novo button and check for the issue.
Also try to run the diagnostics and check for the issue as this will help us know if there are issue issues with RAM or HDD.
Also try to remove the HDD if possible and check if the system boots to the BIOS.
Also try to run the antivirus and check if there are any bugs in the system.
Hope this helps. Do post back if issue persists!
Best regards,

  • Recently experiencing slowness, and crashes

Just recently---about a week,I'm experiencing extreme slowness, and crashes. Also, it seems the computer---an old one, just keeps running or looking for something, even though it seems I'm at the website and it doesn't need to do this? This used to not be a problem, but now it is. From a novices point of view, It just seems the computer wants to keep computing when it probably doesn't need to? I keep getting the two messages: Firefox not responding---associated with the little hour glass, and unresponsive script. These are the message's I get when things get slow and "unresponsive". Hope someone can help. I do try to keep up with the computer maintenance; hard disk, and defragging. But, that makes no difference. I have noticed though recently, that when I do clear space on my hard disk, I keep showing a lot of space can be cleared compared to normal? Thank you.

    Hi Alice,
I've got another question if you don't mind. For that matter anyone else can chime in. I realize some of my problems can be solved by getting a new computer.
But, the reason I have put off doing so is I don't have a clue as to how to transfer all the data from my old computer, to a new one. As I mentioned before, I'm not an experienced operator, so I have to take baby steps in accomplishing things on the computer.
Briefly looking over some of the various articles about the subject it seemed to make things more confusing actually. I guess many think that most people have fairly decent computer skills to begin with, when actually a lot don't, like myself.
That being said, can you offer a simplistic way to transfer data from my old computer, to a new one, in such away I can understand it, taking baby steps? Is using a memory stick/flash drive the best way to do it, as I have been told?
If so, how do use it?
My old system has 18.5 GB of data space, and it has used 11.5 GB currently. I have a gazillion bookmarks/favorites I definitely would like to save.
Can you be of help Alice? If not, can you point me in the right direction? Thank you.

  • MacPro has recently become slow (5+ hour boot times!)

    Hi all,
Let me say in advance that I very much appreciate all patience and assistance with my problem. I'm the kind of guy who's never run Terminal, so that's what you're dealing with.
In the past few weeks I've had some booting problems where the grey startup screen has shown a spinning wheel for a bit longer than normal. Once logged in, some tasks take unusually long to accomplish (stuttering video, loading a normal amount of files in an opened folder, launching an application, copying and pasting, etc).
This past week I couldn't boot at all and I tried to boot in safe mode with no avail. But then I booted up and left it on overnight -- in the morning I was in! Then when I rebooted to see if the problem was a temporary one, the boot time was several hours.
Some info about my Pro: it has 4 internal 1TB drives, none of which have fewer than 70-400GB of free space. The boot drive (1) mirrors to drive 2, and the other drive (3) mirrors to drive 4 (so, 2 drives, 2 internal backups). I also have my data backed up on BackBlaze, but I'd rather not lose all of my software and configurations from years of work by doing a clean install. I have pulled all drives but the boot drive and have swapped the boot drive to its mirror -- all with the same results. Does this mean it's hardware? It has NO third party hardware (maybe a graphics card to allow me to have a second screen, but I can't remember if I ordered it that way). It has NO peripherals other than speakers and a wireless keyboard/mouse that I've had for 6 years. My desktop is clean.
I've read a lot of solutions, but haven't tried all of them yet because the computer is so slow that it might take weeks to try a handful. I also fear rebooting, since I'm not sure it will start again.
Here is some info from EtreCheck which I've seen requested in similar threads. There's a worrying amount of red.
And I apologize in advance, but if you say "Uninstall xxx" please let me know how.

    Thank you!!!

    For starters, replace the 2600.
    Replace the boot drive ( Matt's Bootdisc 1 (disk0s2) /: 999.35 GB (67.91 GB free)
Never let boot drive get more than 60% full.
You will see huge improvement replacing it with 250GB $160 Samsung 840 SSD
Forget mirror if you are doing that and just clone the system as needed
Use 2TB media and data drive (Seagate Constellation) - if you can get by with 1TB and save fine.
Backups should be two or more and some exsternal and offline. Clone and TimeMachine is a good combination.
Do a clean system install on your new boot drive.
Don't reinstall any 3rd party, and leave Intego out. If you must, then setup a small special "system maintenance" drive with the "system tools" but AV just adversely affect performance and have no place in production system on a Mac.
A bad sector on a disk drive in some areas cannot be mapped out or fixed wtihout a full disk erase.
Redownload 10.8.5 only before and instead of running the installer (and here install onto another drive!) first make a bootable flash drive installer and keep it around.
Instead of using DVDs which I never do even 8 yrs ago plus, just clone or install a small 30GB or less 'emergency maintenance system' partition on one of your drive partitions (even on TimeMachine drive which should be around 2-3TB or more).
If you want to mirror instead of using Carbon Copy Cloner, take a look at the demo from www.SoftRAID.com instead.
Add USB3 Sonnet Alllegro for your external drives - excellent fast performance and reliable.
For fast scratch disks and editing or for graphic catalogues and libraries, a couple SSD drives mounted on Sonnettech.com Sonnet Tempo Pro PCIe ($300) can be found on Amazon and OWC www.macsales.com

  • 8.1 64 bit Desktop Envy Phoenix Slow running system

I just purchased the »HP ENVY Phoenix 810-130qe CTO Desktop PC
I have updated all required updates, updated firmware for router and modem. The system is running 8.1 64 bit, in Windows 11. It is continiously freezing on webpages. it stops  scrolling to reload, This problem is in hotmail.com (direct from explorer), myfitnesspal.com, facebook, foxnews.com. It is becoming very frustrating on a very expensive desktop directly purchased from HP. My husband has a new ASUS 8.1 and has no problems with downloads or uploads or freezing. I am within my 20 day return of this system. And I did return this same system a month ago due to this same issue. Please help in this. If Windows 11 and 8.1 are having issues, please let the consumer know that it is being worked on.

Update!      so far 2+ hours and not a single freeze or slow load.
I was on  Microsoft.com forum site:
    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/ie/forum/ie11-iewindows8_1/internet-explorer-with-windows-81-very...
And I believe I've got the help to fix the problems.  see link above.
The problem is HP SimplePass, specifically, OPBHOBrokerDsktop.exe and HPSimplepassBHOBroker. Killing both of those processes solved the problem. They are running by default on the new machines.
I uninstalled HP SimplePass and all is good.
A web search of SimplePass Windows 8 brings up hundreds of hits where people are having difficulty with it working on Win8.1.  Fact is, working or not it's killing performance in a big way.
Woohoo!!!    so far so good!           After hours this week working with internet provider, router, and HP.    Simple answer!!       Hopefully HP can work on the issues in HPSimplePass,   but in the mean time I"m not running on my system.

  • Spinning Beach Ball - Slow Running System

My wife has had a very annoying problem on her MDD 1.25 for some time now and we're finally irritated enough to post. All too often while running Photoshop CS, Illustrator CS2, Quark Xpress 6 and Suitcase fusion this machine gets the beach ball. This happens when she may be opening a document, moving a document, applying an action, or anything within those apps at that matter. Sometimes it's so bad that she has to force quit and relaunch a particular app. Even opening the HDD sometimes seems like a chore as it sits and thinks. Things just don't seem to be as snappy as they once were. Suggestions?
I've maxed it out on memory and have run Disc Utility, Onyx, and Diskwarrior. Could it be Suitcase bogging this machine down? Other?
    Thanks for any help,
    Tony

    Hi,
To determine if the amount of RAM is the issue, bring up Terminal in /Applications/Utilities, or your favorite terminal emulator, and type top at the command prompt. You'll be able to monitor the amount of allocated and unallocated RAM available on the system as each application is brought up and used.
I've seen similar beach balls from other apps, mainly Microsoft Office apps such as Word and Excel. What's probably going on is that the load average is going up to maybe 2-4, instead of 1-1.8, as the app write's it's temp files. If you try to do something else, while waiting for the app to finish, the OSX window manager then displays a spinning beach ball to you to indicate that the system is currently busy processing the given app at the top of the stack. Hence you wait.
As a rule, before getting new hardware, I'd check each of the software vendor's websites for updates to the software you are running on OSX. There may be an update from Adobe (for example) that indeed solved a particular issue with that application.
Then check for updates from Apple on the OSX version you're running on that particular machine. If it's already at the latest version of Tiger, then of course you're good to go on that front.
Finally, I agree with an earlier post, the amount of free space on the drive that the app will "work" in is critical. Especially apps such as PhotoShop, since they will create rather large temp files while they process a given file. So, if all you have is one hard drive with only 4-5Gb free out of 160Gb (say), then a second drive is called for. You will be able, via top to see PhotoShop swapping out to disk as it works on a file if you don't have enough RAM. Try to shoot for 20-30% free space, at a minimum, on the drive the main apps you use will work on, so that you have enough room for the temp files they will create.

  • I upgraded my imac to Mountain Lion and my iMac has been painfully slow ever since. Any ideas what might be wrong and how to fix it?

I upgraded my iMac to Mountain Lion and it has been painfully slow ever since.  Any ideas on what might be happening and how to fix it?

First, back up all data immediately, as your boot drive might be failing.
There are a few other possible causes of generalized slow performance that you can rule out easily.
If you have many image or video files on the Desktop with preview icons, move them to another folder.
If applicable, uncheck all boxes in the iCloud preference pane.
Disconnect all non-essential wired peripherals and remove aftermarket expansion cards, if any.
Otherwise, take the steps below when you notice the slowdown.
    Step 1
Launch the Activity Monitor application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Activity Monitor in the icon grid.
Select the CPU tab of the Activity Monitor window.
Select All Processes from the menu in the toolbar, if not already selected.
Click the heading of the % CPU column in the process table to sort the entries by CPU usage. You may have to click it twice to get the highest value at the top. What is it, and what is the process? Also post the values for % User, % System, and % Idle at the bottom of the window.
Select the System Memory tab. What values are shown in the bottom part of the window for Page outs and Swap used?
Next, select the Disk Activity tab. Post the approximate values shown for Reads in/sec and Writes out/sec (not Reads in and Writes out.)
    Step 2
If you have more than one user account, you must be logged in as an administrator to carry out this step.
Launch the Console application in the same way you launched Activity Monitor. Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
Select the 50 or so most recent entries in the log. Copy them to the Clipboard (command-C). Paste into a reply to this message (command-V). You're looking for entries at the end of the log, not at the beginning.
When posting a log extract, be selective. Don't post more than is requested.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Important: Some personal information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting. That should be easy to do if your extract is not too long.

  • IPad one nearly 3 years old has got very slow - ideas?

My iPad will be three years old in June. In the last few weeks it has got very slow - sometimes apps take ages to respond and have to be touched several times - the same with scrolling and in fact any touch control. Even then it is slow to load things.
It is a 64 gb which is only just over half full so I don't think it is because there isn't much memory.
    Any ideas?

Try a reboot by holding both the power and home buttons until the apple logo appears and it restarts, ignoring the red slider if it appears.
Memory overloads can cause slow down and reboot clears those.

    Like the  man says:
Run Disk Utility > Repair ... (not just repair permissions) while booted from another drive. If you have a stronger utility like Disk Warrior, that would be even better.
If you find that the ONLY way you can do this is by booting from the DVD, The Hatter recommends you establish an emergency drive or partition on a drive other than the Boot drive and use that in the future. It makes emergency Repair, backup, and cloning much easier.

This shouldn't happen. Take it back since it's new.

  • My MacBook has recently become really slow and im not sure how to fix it.

Over the past few weeks my macbook has become extremely slow, would anybody have any ideas of how to fix it?

One possibility is that your hard drive has become full to the point that it is hindering the speed of your MacBook. Many experts believe that your hard drive should have about 15% of its space free.
You can check your hard drive's free space by selecting it on the desktop and then typing command + i (or going to the File menu and selecting Get Info.) In the information that appears look for the capacity and available space.
If it turns out that disk space is part of your issue, you may want to see about reducing the amount of disk space in use on the hard drive. Let us know, there are a number of things you can do for this.
    Best of luck.

  • IPhone 6 recently stopped ringing and making text alert sounds since most recent upgrade to ios 8.1.1, has anyone experienced this, and if so, how did you correct?

AFter recent upgrade to ios 8.1.1, my iphone 6 no longer makes text alert sounds and ring does not sound for incoming calls (except on car bluetooth).  has anyone experienced this, and if so, how did you correct?

I had the same problem until tonight. Played with ring tones, do not disturb, volume, and everything else posted. What I found is that when you go to sounds/text tone, there are two types of tones in the scrolling menu. The top set of tones are for alert tones and the bottom set are ringtones. They are separated by a gray bar that states their purpose. Many of the tones are the same name. You need to set your text alert in the Ringtones and reminders, alarms, and such in alerts. The weird thing about this menu is when you go to sounds/ringtone the menu is reversed. Mine works in locked mode or unlocked now. I have an Iphone 6 8.1.2. My problem started after my latest OS upgrade. Hope this helps.

Has anyone experienced internet connection problems through Comcast after taking a recent security update download from Apple??

Hello jessie029, and a warm welcome to the forums!
What browser do you connect with?
Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), it will try to repair your Disk Directory while the spinning radian is happening, so let it go, run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, then Open System Preferences>Network>Configure>Proxies Tab, make sure none are set, like for HTTP & HTTPS to use at Home, if you use it at 2 locations, just make a New Location for home.

Then try putting these numbers in Network>TCP/IP>DNS Servers for the Interface you're using...
    208.67.222.222
    208.67.220.220
Then Apply. These are safer/faster than most ISP's DNS numbers, and have been patched against DNS poisoning.

Several ways.  Open a Finder window & the info will be at the very bottom of the window frame.  Also, if you open Disk Utility, click your hard drive, the info will be listed in DU.  If your HD is shown on your desktop, click on it.  Also, the info can be found inside the System Profiler.
