My IDS stopped sending alerts to VMS

I have an IDS running 4.1.4 S131. It has working few about two months now, but all of a sudden I stopped getting alerts. I clear my events thinking that it reached it's maximum, but still no alerts. if anyone can help I'd really appriciate it.

you need to separate this issue
1- IDS seeing alerts or not
2- Alerts coming into security monitor or not
for 1
login to IDS and type
"show event alert past 4:00"
see if you got any alerts in say past 4 hours. if you are getting alerts, and those same alerts are not appearing on security monitor. then the most posssible cause is DB corruption. DB size may have grown up too large to handle.
if that is the case, you can try to do a few DB tunning , but most probably you will end up in reinstall of security monitor.

Grid Control stops sending emails?

Hello everyone. Interesting thing happened today. For whatever reasons, Grid Control stopping sending out email alerts that we have configured. Let me give some details.
We have customized some rules so we can receive email alerts if something goes wrong with our production databases. It has worked great until today.
We have setup an alert to let us know the 'state' of the database. This worked extremely well on our dataguard box, which would change status to 'MOUNT" twice a day as we applied redo logs from the primary database. Each time this happened, Grid Control would fire off an email alert stating the database was in the 'MOUNT' stage.
Once all the logs were applied and the database would return to 'OPEN', we could get a email saying the database was 'CLEAR' and now 'OPEN'.
This worked great, until our 17:00 log applies happened.
We did not receive anything at all and now I am trying to figure out why.
To my knowledge, nothing has changed on the Grid Control server.
I logged in and checked everything out, and it seemed ok.
I did restart some of the services and restarted the DB instance.
Doing some testing, I stopped a database to check the rule. It took a while for Grid Control to recognize that the database was down and it eventually fired off a email alert stating the database was unreachable. But this was after at least 3-5 minutes, where as before, it was almost instant.
My guess is that for whatever reasons, is that when the database status changes, Grid Control is not finding out right away. Due to the latency of the issue, by the time all the logs have applied (no more than 5 minutes), the database is back 'OPEN' and the database looks good to grid control.
I'm a little baffled by this because Grid Control has worked great for months.
Does anyone have any idea on what could be wrong?
Any ideas on where to start looking?
Any additional information I can post to help troubleshoot? Logs?

Has a schedule been set-up for the user. This normally happens when a user is created.
Does the user have access to the rule set that has been created.
For example, in my system SYSMAN creates all the rules and then makes them public. Individual users then subscribe to the public rules to get the alerts.

How to stop alarm alerts

My iCal keeps sending alerts to an old e-mail address. I then get a fail to send e-mail back every time. The old e-mail is no longer listed in my Address Book and I don't see it listed in the specific event alarm options. How do I stop this?

Actually, this isn't a response to this topic but a way to get into the stream of questions for iCal. I looked all over the place for the way to post a question and could not find it.
So my question is: I want to view the data in specific calendars I have created as a list or data base. I can't figure out how to do that.

I have tried deleting and reinstalling the e-mail account, I have reviewed the sending server as suggested by some other support pages. Check first whether the you can send emails using web (Either on Safari App or try it on a computer)
If it doesn't work in webmail ,there might be an issue with the email account.
If its working , you can try adding the account to outlook on your computer and then sync the Email settings thru iTunes.
If its a windows computer which you are using you'll get Info tab in your device page.
Click on Info and then select Sync Mail and then Apply.

It's only difficult if you get all emotional over tiny things and don't stop to look for answers first. I find Macs very simple to use.

How do I get Apple to stop sending me email?

I know this isn't the right forum for this question, but I didn't see one that seemed relevant.
My first question is regarding these discussion boards. I posted a question here (in the Using iPod Shuffle area) and since then, I am getting an email every time somebody posts to this area.
The email has instructions on how to stop this from happening, they tell you to log in, go to "My Subscriptions", and in the Subscribed Categories area, select the delete option. However in the Subscribed Categories area, it shows zero subscribed categories, and there is no delete option.
Has anybody else run into this and found a way to fix it?
Second, since I am vaguely on the topic anyway, maybe somebody will know this one.
Since I purchased something from the iTunes music store, I have been getting ads by email from them. I told them not to send me ads at the time, but they are sending them anyway. I have replied back to the emails begging them to stop sending me ads, but they ignore this.
I really want to keep my email account as spam-free as possible.
Has anybody else run into this and figured out how to make them stop?

Look in "My Settings" to find the .... setting ... which prevents your from automatically subscribing to each one you either originate or respond to.
FYI, general questions on use of the Discussions themselves are handled in a separate forum — Discussions Feedback.
One way to manage/change your contact preferences is to log into myinfo.apple.com and change whatever you want or need to in there. If there are separate things which come from ITMS that aren't controlled from that page, and you can't find it discussed in the iTunes help or support pages or in its own menus somewhere, then you really should be asking in the ITMS forums instead of the iPod Shuffle one.

Stop Sending and Receiving Emails for the employee which is no longer exist

I have lot's of mailboxes in my exchange server which their users are not with us anymore.
I would like to stop receiving any emails for them.
I know if I go to "Mail Flow Settings\Message Delivery Restrictions\Accept messages from\Only Senders in the Following List" and select a dummy user it works but it sends my server information to the sender. and I do not want to give the
information.
Any idea how to:
Stop sending / Receiving email for these type of users?
OR
Changing the respond message?

You have a couple options. Removing the mailbox would be the simple solution to stop mail flow, but I am assuming you need the mailbox which is why you have not taken this route.
Alternatively, if you have a message filtering solution in place that sits in front of your Exchange environment, you may be able create a filter to block inbound messages for a specific address so the message never reaches your internal Exchange servers.
This would prevent any information regarding you Exchange servers being returned.
If you do not have a filtering solution to do this, you can create a delivery status notification (DSN) so that a custom response is returned when messages are sent to a mailbox. Refer to this article on creating a DSN:

Sender JDBC channel stop send messages

Hi,
We have a sender JDBC scenario which is working correctly time ago.
However, sometimes this channel stop sending messages although the Adapter Monitor shows that they regularly execute the polling interval.
We have confirmed that there isn't any connection from XI to target BD.
In other ocasions, we are required to restart XI and, after that, this scenario works without any problem.
What could be the cause?
How to solve it?

This is rather strange.
A few of my observations -
1. When the sender jdbc adapter polls , and there is no data matching the select query, you will still see a message id in Comm Channel Monitoring but with no hyper link.
2. The actual message id / message is created only if there is data in the database and also the hyper link is enabled.
3. If you are confident that the data is being commited on the database and that it is XI not pulling the right data, one issue might be - driver issues. Can you check if you have the right compatible drivers for your database on XI server - is there a new'er driver available?
We hit a similar issue with JMS adapters and we learnt that the JMS server had been updated as a result of which a new driver had to be installed which we did not until we hit intermittent problems like these.

Send Alerts(e-mail) for errors in SXMB_MONI(message mapping exceptions)

        I´m configuring SAP Netweaver PI 7.0(SP13) to use Alert Framework to send Alerts when errors occurs in the interfaces processing.
        I just achieved configure to send alerts when errors ocurrs in the Adapter Framework but, I can´t configure correctly to send alerts when errors ocurred only in SXMB_MONI(for example, message mapping exception in asyncronous interface).
        I just followed the instructions at Michal Krawczyk
weblog(/people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/09/09/xi-alerts--step-by-step) and, initially, this was not sufficient to start to send alert when errors occurs only on SXMB_MONI, so, I researched and found some configurations to do in CCMS(started from here: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/e3/bf3b7a8ccb8040b638ff732c551aeb/content.htm), jobs to start events collectors, etc, and after this, I could see a mail for an message mapping exception. BUT, this message, sent from CCMS to ALM, doesn´t carry out all the message parameters, like message Id, sender(service, interface), receiver(service, interface), that is very important to help to find the message with errors to be solved.
        There is somebody here that already done the Alert configuration to send messages for errors found only in SXMB_MONI(Monitor for processed XML Messages) ?
        There is a better way to achieve this ?

Sending alert, gives an error but.......

I'm sending an alert with the code bellow which was taken from the sample. I tested it and it did works ONCE but now for an unknown reason I get an error. First here's the code I'm using

Sorry but I don't know how to decode this error message to know which table and also I don't understand the ALERT system and why am I receiving this error and of course I don't know what to do to prevent this according to the code above or something else I don't understand.

Surprisingly, I indeed look in those table when I saw it in the HELP CENTER
and there was no entry in there. The tale was empty. But
I was sending alerts to 3 people, I deleted the 2 others that wasn't me ME means manager currently logged in SAP and when I did send an alert just to manager, it was working.
Maybe there's another table that have entry for the 2 other users I was sending an alert ?
Well, Seems that sending an alert just to manager was working. I will try to send to manager an another user then the 2 I was sending previously to see if it's because I'm trying to send to multiple recipient.

Sending Alert Messages to File System

I am trying to implement a scenario in PI which automatically processes alert message generated by the Alert Framework (the messages are processed in a message mapping). Therefore I am sending alerts via mail and receive these mails afterwards with an integration scenario PI. As this does not work if the mail server is offline I am searching for a possibility to send alert messages directly to the file system. Is there a way to do this? Or do you have any other suggestions how I could handle this problem?

The other option to get the alerts is to regster for SMS alerts to your mibile, in addition to the mail alerts.

Check Settings > Messages and make sure MMS Messaging is "On".
Check Settings > General > Cellular and be sure Cellular Data is "On".

Where did you get the new cable? New cable or another one you had?
There have been reports of problems with cables in 8.x.
I upgraded to ios8 and can no longer connect my iPad to the projector in my classroom.

My iPad 2 has suddenly stopped sending emails. It puts them in the outbox but that's as far as they go. I've tried turning off ect but no joy. It puts them in the outbox but thats as far as they go.

The restrictions should have no bearing at all as to why mail is not being sent. It will prevent you from making changes to the emai account, so I don't know how you were able to try what I suggested if you can't get into your mail settings.
As for the 10 attempts ...... You get as many tries as you need with that passcode. But the catch is that if you cannot remember it and you need to get into the settings, you have to restore your iPad back to factory settings and start all over again. The only way that you can use a backup is if the backup does not contain that passcode. If you restore from a backup that has the passcode in or, you will jut end up in a never ending loop.
So after having said all of this I would have to assume that you tried my suggestion before you locked yourself out of the settings.
