My Imac 27' screen is shutting off for no reason. The Imac is still running but the screen is black and stay like that. Is there anyone else with the same problem, and does somebody know what is this?
I had my Imac27' for about 1 year (I bought it january 2011) , and it worked fine. But two days ago a problem started. The screen is turning black suddently, and it stay like that until I reboot it. It's not cool. The first time it happen it was hafter a very long days of video editing, I tought it was to hot. But now I just started up the Imac and 10 minutes later it happen. And now I transfer my desktop on my second screen, because the one of my Imac is constantly shutting of. What is this? Can I do something about that?
I´ve came across with the same problem and when I look out for solutions I found out that basically I had Three options
1.- Dim the brightness to the first 2 dots (that is the limit for me, anything above that shuts down again my screen)
2.- Replace an expensive part of the screen (about $900)
3.- Try with an external monitor to see if the problem was the screen or something else
What I did was to plug my flat screen to my mac with a Mini Display Port to VGA Adapter

And… Problem Solved! now Im going to buy a Monitor that gonna cost me less than half of the replacement parts, my main monitor will keep siting down if i dim it above the 2 dots but at least I will have the other to work properly

Yeah, that's high.
First, try a system reset. I don't have too much confidence that it will help but it does cure many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here. -
Hi All. In my console appeared message "console: Could not find image 'BackArrow' ". Does somebody know what it means ???
BRI believe this to be a bug in Console.app and that it started with 10.7.3 or 10.7.4. The message is generated by Console.app (Console: Could not…). On my system it is always these 2 messages and they are triggered by launching Console.app.

Try opening and closing Console.app a few times and you’ll see. I suppose this is just a bug where the app is trying to locate some of its resources which might just be icon images for back/forward that are (maybe) no longer used but still referenced. -

You haven't provided any valuable data, it could have been a power problem where the computer is plugged in. Personally I use a UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) when I plug in my computer for just that reason.
BTW when posting please complete your profile so we know what kind of iMac you have and the version of OS X. Also what were you doing when the computer shut down. -

Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.

If the reset does no work
Try:
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

I had trouble upgrading my iPad2 toiOS 5.1.I have had it for about 1 year. I had never upgraded it. I tried a few times but I kept getting a message that I would loose everything on my iPad if I did. I bit the bullet andfigured that I would restore it from the back up on my laptop. Some of the backup files were corrupted. I was unable to retore my exchange email or my notes from the noted app.
Today, my iPad shut off for no reason and I couldn't get it to turn on again, even though the battery was 70% charged. I had to press the on button and home button to get it to come back on.I'm not sure what problem you are experiancing but it would be well worth contacting apple.
If you have had it for less than one year it should be covered under warrenty

Creative Cloud icon disappeared from Apple Tool Bar after I installed some CC updates. Does somebody know what the problem can be?
I had a similar issue. I closed the Cloud icon, and when I went to open it again, it just died.
I uninstalled Adobe Creative Cloud, went to the Adobe CC download page and requested a trial copy of PS, being sure to enter my CC name and password. It then reinstalled Adobe Creative Cloud, and all is working again (I hope). -
iMac G5 (iSight) with 10.4.11: Screen always dimmed. Starts at full bright and a second later dimms and stays like that forever. Brightness controls work normally under this circunstance. Please help !!!
Please don't tell me to adjust anything on the preferences, since I have tried all. I think it may be anoter kind of problem, maybe hardware related or anything.
I ran the Hardware repair DVD and everything was ok, but when the imac restarted the screen was very lit again, but when it went sleep, when it went awake again the screen got dimmed again. Because of that I think that the problem could be software related, but who knows. Excuse my english.I can't see another possible answer - the longer your machine is up, the more the power supply is stressed, it protects itself by dimming the screen to lower the draw on it.

my macbook wont start the screen turn blue and stay like that for hrs. It only work when i use safe mode, i try to use disk utilities to fix it but the disk utilities keep saying error and a bunch of other stuff. whenever i connect my ipod touch 3rd gen to itunes itunes responds really slowly and when i try and sync it it says sync in progress on my ipod screen but then is stuck with "verifying "matts ipod" at the top of itunes and stays like that for ages.. help

Boot into Safe Mode
A Safe Mode boot can take a few minutes compared to a normal boot.
Once you are in Safe Mode open System Preferences > Accounts > Login Items
If you have anything listed there to launch when you startup your Mac, delete all items.
Then go to the Apple menu / Restart.
You can also use Safe Mode to do a "live verification" of the startup disk in case it needs repairing.
