My iMac aluminium chassis is under electric current ! ! !

Something strange happended today. My iMac did not work any more. When I tried to turn it on the screen stayed white and there were a few loud beeps.
When I touched it I realized that the chassis and even the keyboard were under electric current ! Not enough to kill me, but still a good electric shock.
I removed the 2 GB memory module which I added to the built in 1 GB memory 3 days ago and what surpise: The iMac is working again.
Even now as I'm writing this post I am trying to strictly use the plastic keys and not touch the aluminum parts of my keyport to not get electrocuted.
What is this problem ? Is it possible that some electric part on the inside of my iMac got into contact with the chassis when I turned the iMac three days ago to add the memory? I'm sitting in Africa and the next Mac support is far away.

Somehow the electricity has diappeared from the iMac chassis and keyboard, even though I do not believe that it was due to the fact that I played around with the screw.
My therory is as follows:
My electrical installations in my Algerian home are pretty basic (no "neutral" phase, computer not propoerly earthed).

Some inner electric part of the iMac gets into contact with the outer Aluminium chassis

Three days later (not immediately)iMac chassis under electric tension

Electric tension destroys 2GB RAM which added 3 days before (why not original 1 GB RAM ?)
--> iMac does not boot any more due to defective RAM
What do you think about this theory ?

hmmm, I have nothing attached on them, it is just two usb cables one for my Nikon the other for my multipad and nothing was attached on them. And I have touched by accident on the one and i have this small current passing though my hands and then i have touched on the other one to see whats happening and same result. Did you purchase this device from Apple or an authorized reseller? It sounds as if you had a device that was jailbroken/hacked to operate on your carrier. Upon updating the iOS, it is now locked back to the original carrier the device was locked to.
Only the carrier the device is locked to can authorize an unlock. You will need to make contact with that carrier and see if they provide unlocking services, and if they do, if you qualify for an unlock. Otherwise, you are out of luck. One that carrier can take care of the unlocking.

I am getting electric current type shocks whilst using my track pad on my macbook pro. This happens when it is both plugged in to charge and also unplugged. I am left with a constant type pain of prickly pins and needles even when I am not using it.

I have recently bought a Macbook pro and have noticed that I am getting an electric current running up my fingers when using the track pad. This happens when it is charging but most worryingly it happens when it is not plugged in. It leaves me with pins and needles type feeling in my hand and arm even when I am not using it. Also when I sit it on my lap I get the same electrical current in my legs and down to my feet.
Surely this cannot be what I should expect with an apple product?, has anyone else experienced this?.

How can I avoid losing purchases made with an old Apple ID when I authorize my MacBook Pro under my current Apple ID?

I am very confused!! When I first used iTunes, I did not own any Apple products. When I purchased my MacBook Pro and a Mobile Me subscription a few years ago, my email address @me.com became my new Apple ID. I subsequently purchased an iPhone 3 and eventually an iPhone 4. Apparently over this time, I have used both Apple IDs at various times. Sometimes when I upgrade apps, the old ID will already be filled in and other times the new one will be instead. I always use whichever one is there with the appropriate password. This was probably a mistake. I just realized that my MBPro is authorized under the original Apple ID and not the current one. I tried to authorize it under the current Apple ID, but couldn't, so I was going to deauthorize it from the old one, but got a message about losing any purchases made with the original Apple ID. I don't want that to happen. Synching my iPhone in iTunes with my computer has been much more confusing since I got my newer iPhone. However, I don't remember anything about the process I went through to associate it with my iTunes account. Any helpful suggestions are appreciated.

Log into the store using the old Apple ID to re-download them, however, you can not switch them into your current Apple ID except by re-purchasing. You can contact Apple support and see if they are able to help you.

SQL2005 on winserver 2003. I have a view in Xdb that accesses tables in 2 different databases (Xdb and Ydb) on the same server. I have mixed mode security. I have a SQL user (XYuser) that has read access to all tables and views on both databases, yet when I try to access the view using a C# windows application I get the following error:

This same scenario works under SQL 2000. I looked through the postings and tried to set TRUSTWORTHY ON on both databases but that didn't help. I can access any other views or tables on the SQL 2005 server, just not the one that joins the tables cross databases. Any help is much appreciated... john

This appears to be a Login/Database Mapping issue. I was having this problem, but was able to resolve it as follows:
Using the SQL Server management Studio:
In the Object explorer, under the SERVER security folder (not the database security folder), expand Logins.
That is: ServerName -> Security -> Logins
NOT: ServerName -> Databases -> DatabaseName -> Security -> Users
Select the Login that is having the troubles. Right click on the Login and select ‘Properties.’
The ‘User Mapping’ page should list all databases on the server with a check mark on the databases that the Login has been mapped to. When I was getting the error, the database in question was not checked (even though the Login was assigned as a User on the database itself). Map the Login by checking the box next to the database name. Set the default schema. Then select the roles for the Login in the Database role membership list box. I selected db_datareader and public. After clicking OK to save the changes, the problem was resolved.
In order to ‘Map’ the Login, the Login must not already be as User on the database, so you may have to go to the database security (ServerName -> Databases -> DatabaseName -> Security -> Users) and delete the Login from the list of database Users before mapping the Login to the database.

I have moved the Event and Project Folders to the "top-layer of the drive" as the instructions state, right alongside the System Folder, Users Folder and Applications Folders.
When I open iMovie 10.0.8, the Events and Projects Folders are empty:
When I select File/Update Projects and Events, I get an alert box that says iMovie couldn't find any:
Not knowing exactly what is meant by the "top layer" in the instructions, I moved the Events and Project folders back inside the "Movies" folder where I found them (but then not where I would call the "top" layer, but rather "iMac/Users/Home/Movies/iMovieProjects". Then I tried to "Update Projects and Events" and received the same alert: "iMovie could not find any projects or events to update."
Then I tried to update iMovie 9.0 (iMovie '11 version 9.0 (1073)) to version 9.0.9 .
[As an aside, the nomenclature of iMovie drives me nuts. The latest version is 10.0.8, which us newer than iMovie '11.]
Back to the update of version 9.0 to 9.0.9.
Presumably because I have version 10.0.8 installed, I got this alert box:

Hi everyone, I'm the one from the example above posted by @frankensinatra and I can confirm having the same problem.
But I want to add something. The problem is not only related to black and white but to every picture, and it can be worse or not depending on the range of colors involved. Apparently, there is a shift between some RGB value that is going to remove some green producing a magenta look.
I've started contacting some developer about this problem and some of them is trying to understand what's going on.
In my case, the problem came up when I bought the new iPad mini Retina. I didn't have this problem with the previous iPad mini. Same OS for both devices.
The photo you see in the link above is a perfect example of what happens just going from one app to another and saving to the camera roll. In that case, the situation doesn't change if I send that picture from within the app by email, or to another app using the "open in..." feature. It keeps being purple. And the problem can be reproduced all the time.
Have some of you noticed the same?

Hello- I was able to resolve the issue after clicking on the top right hand corner that shows the recent downloads (it has that down arrow). I realized that I had tried downloading the Adobe Flash Player Install Manager about 7 times, but still needed to click on the file and install! So I erased all the duplicates and installed one of the Flash Player Install Managers and it finally worked! Yay!

Still no way to buy extra activations under a current cloud account...

The iPad's charger is rated at 10W. The output is 5V, so the current is 2A while it's charging.
Here's some battery/charging info.
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W).
