My iMac always restart once or twice
Hi My iMac always restart once or twice either when I wake it or reboot it in the morning. Does any one try to attack me (with DDOS) or something? How can I fix the problem??
Hi, chenfromlosangeles.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like you are experiencing an issue with kernal panics on your iMac. Here is a troubleshooting article that I would recommend going through when experiencing this issue.
OS X: When your computer spontaneously restarts or displays "Your computer restarted because of a problem."

Help! iMac always restarting!
When I start my Msc, the opeing white screen appears, then open in Mac OS X. After 5 or 10 minutes of using, it juste shut down and restart... If I try to use my Windows part, it still restart, but faster. I can't use my Mac for real work! This problem appear when I install the Security Update 2007-005 (Universal), I've never seen it before that update!
Please, thank for help!Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
I would RP..then re download update. then RP again
Translation: Repair Disk Permissions. Download and reapply the Security Update. Then Repair Disk Permissions again.
Although the issue sounds like it could be related to the power supply and not the securiy update. I would speak tp Apple Care while the iMac is still under warranty for possible repair. -
My computer spontaneously restarts once or twice a week...
I have no idea why it is doing this... I'll be in the middle of doing something and suddenly it will restart!
Can anyone help me? I'm unemployed and just hoping this computer lasts long enough for me to get a job!
I've run disk utility to check permissions... and I'm left with one permission that can't be fixed...
Warning: SUID file "System/Library/CoreServices/RemoteManagement/ARDAgent.app/Contents/MacOS/ARDAg ent" has been modified and will not be repaired.
The odd thing is, each time I run it, it finds and then "repairs" the same things.... (I can't run disk repair right now because I don't have my startup disk - but I did run it last week, and it was fine....)
I also ran (again, since last week) DiskWarrior Repair Disk Permissions and Check All Files and Folders
There are 3 resource files that could not be repaired:
Applications/Microsoft Office 2008/Microsoft Messenger.app/Content/Resources/Norwegian.lproj/
Library/Application Support/Microsoft/MAU2.0/Microsoft AutoUpdate.app/Contents/Resources/zh_CN.lproj/
Library/Application Support/Microsoft/MAU2.0/Microsoft AutoUpdate.app/Contents/Resources/zh_TW.lproj/
I keep wondering if it has anything to do with Akamai, because when I did a search on documents created today, there is an akamai document that was created at the same time as the restart.... "debug.log.130411_172418.sent" And, while I don't recall why I thought so, I remember there was another time that it restarted that I wondered about Akamai.....
Thanks!Do you have a rescue email address on your account, and if you do you are checking the inbox and spam folder on that account for the password reset emails ?
The $1 is only a temporary charge, each time that you add/change card details a small temporary store holding charge (i.e. $1) may be applied to check that the card details are correct and valid and that it's registered to exactly the same name and address as on your iTunes account - your card issuer should remove within a few days or so.
Store holding charge : iTunes Store & Mac App Store: About payment card authorization holds - Apple Support.
For why it's being disabled, does anybody else know your email address on your account and might be trying to guess your account's password and therefore disabled it by getting it wrong ? -
N97 is restarting by himself once or twice per day
My N97 is restarting by himself once or twice per day, on an interval of 2-3 days, sometimes when I do something on it, sometimes when it stays on the desk, it is very annoying!
This thing it will fix if I go on service (Nokia service) and I reinstall the soft?
Has anybody has this issue?
P.S. I have last firmweare on it (V12....)

Since I updated to iCloud, (which may or may not be related) Mail on my MacBookPro 10.6.8 has been unable to connect to MobileMe more than once or twice per day. Mail on my iPhone 4 and my old iMac has no problems. When there is no service a yellow warning triangle appears adjacent to the Inbox and Connection Doctor reports,"Trying to log into this MobileMe IMAP account failed. Verify that username and password are correct." Since it does fetch Mail from time to time they cannot be wrong.... can they? Should I update to 10.7 and if so what does that entail?
You have been using MobileMe's email settings, which sometimes continue to work for a time after migration but then get turned off. iCloud's mail server settings are different. Strictly speaking Lion 10.7.2 is required for iCloud, and on that Mail is set up automatically.
Snow Leopard cannot access most of iCloud's facilities, however you can set Mail up manually to access your email. The method is described here:
http://www.wilmut.webspace.virginmedia.com/notes/icloudmail.html
The situation with iCloud and Snow Leopard is described in detail here:

The screen of my imac always goes to the maximum exposure. Then appear the light icon on the screen. After reducing the brightness goes my screen after a few minutes back to the maximum intensity with the brightness icon back on my screen.
Try resetting the SMC and if that doesn't work then reset the PRAM too.
SMC RESET
Shut down the computer.
Unplug the computer's power cord and all peripherals.
Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds.
Release the power button.
Attach the computers power cable.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.
PRAM RESET
Shut down the computer.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
Release the keys. -
My 27' 2.4 GHz Intel Core i7, 12GB RAM iMac keeps restarting.
My I wonder if anyone on here could help me.
My 27' 2.4 GHz Intel Core i7, 12GB RAM iMac keeps restarting all the time. It's been happening for months now but has got worse and worse. It started when I was using programmes like adobe Pr & Ae but now it happens when I have only have safari or other small apps open.
What happens is the screen freezes, I can hear a clicking should and then the machine just restarts all of a sudden.
I get the message: 'Your computer was restarted because of a problem. Click report to see more detailed information and send a report to Apple' which I have done ever time for about 50+ times now in total. The 'problem details and system configuration' states the below:

I use my iMac daily for work and it happens from 4-10 times a day depending on what applications i'm using. More if I'm trying to render a video. It is really furstrating and keeps me from doing any work at all, I can't keep working like this but I have no choise. I really can't be without my computer for very long as I use it to do everything and I do not have another. Also I have all my files on the hard drive. I have bought a Seagate external HD to back up my files onto so I can make a genus bar appointment but everytime I run time machine or try to copy any of my files over to the external HD the machine restarts and disrupts the file transfer. So I can't even back up my files which are really important to me. I even had to retype this whole message becuase my imac restarted while I was fulling in this question.
What is worse is that I bought the extra warrenty (Apple Care) which is due to expire sometime in March 2014 I'm unsure of the date. Might have expired already I don't know. So I need to get this fixed ASAP.
Extra information on the machine:
iMac
27-inch, Mid 2011
Processor 3.4 GHz Intel Core i7
Memory 12 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
Graphics AMD Radeon HD 6970M 2048 MB
Software OS X 10.9.2 (13C64)
Can anyone see from the information I have given about what could be wrong with my machine?
Any help or assistance would be much appriciated.
Thanks,
JamesHi. I am currently having the same issue on my 2011 27" 3.1 GHz i5 with 12 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
For the last couple of months I have been experiencing random restarts, power offs and so on. I have already had this escalated and had my machine taken into Apple to run a Hardware test. They redid the newest OSX version in store and ran the AHT for an hour and got no results. The Genius Bar were asked by Apple Canada to run an all night test. According to Apple they ran the test for 4 hours and got nothing. I was then told to take the machine home and run it with just the memory that was original in the machine. I stressed tested the video card with a benchmark tool called Heaven for 2 hours. 90C was the temp and no failure. I did a Terminal "Yes" loop for a couple of hours and no failure on the CPU. I ran the Apple Hardware Test for 11 minutes and this is the result.
I also have a video of what happened after I restarted the test after about a 5 minute cooldown period. 20 minutes into the test the Imac stalled and made 3 long beeps over and over again like an alarm with a long pause between. I took the memory out of the DIMM 0 & 1 slots and replaced them in the 2&3 slots rand the test and got nothing after 2 hours. I put the memory back in the original spot and ran it again and got no results. Apple contacted the "Genius" techs and they informed them that I had fixed the problem and everything should be good now. I was also told to go ahead and transfer back over my Time Machine Backup. Since this all happened I have had the Imac restart 2 times in the last almost 2 weeks and today got this error message

I would also like to add that The Second High Level tech I spoke to told me to use a program to take an image of what my computer was doing when the fresh install of Mavericks was installed and then again after the Time Machine restore. I sent both and have had no response back. The "Engineers of Apple" would be taking a look at those files. This is what I was told anyway's.
So I would like any advise because Apple hasn't been too helpful. I haven't heard anything back at all. Its been a little while. This seems that it could be an issue. I sat in the store speaking to a gentleman with a brand new iMac 27 inch that was having the same exact issues. I was told his was newer so they were not the same. The owner of the new iMac just rolled his eyes and laughed. James McConville seems to be having the same issue and I have read quite a few others before I saw this post from yesterday.

What's wrong with my ipad2? I just can't bear it always restart again and again when I just play a simple game! What's wrong with the apple without Jobs?!
Try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. -
Can I chat or talk with a human on the phone? I have an Adobe ExportPDF Annual. So, if I cancel today, I still have to pay half of the fee? I only used the service once or twice. I was looking for a phone number to call. But, I seemed to have been in a loop. I kept getting directed to this forum. I would have really appreciated a quick link to a phone number. Much more efficient on my end.
I expected to be canceled in a few short minutes via a phone call. Instead of have been in this endless and frustrating loop to this forum.

1)iTunes for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8: Fix unexpected quits or launch issues

How do I get rid of iMac always asking for login keychain
How do I get rid of iMac always asking for login keychain, very annoying
There is a utility called Keychain Access. It is in your Applications/Utilities/ folder. Keychain Access has tools to do "first aid" and a reset on your keychain. Here are some Apple Support articles with instructions.

and if that does not help (reset)

E2500 - Needs to be Power Cycled Once or Twice a Day.
Brand new E2500, needs to be power-cycled once or twice a day. Already reinstalled Cisco Connect and updated the Firmware.
Having some problems with my brand new router and customer service is being of VERY LITTLE help! What should I do?Let me know the concern that you have, is with the wired connection or with the wireless connection?
You said that you have upgraded the firmware, but after upgrading the firmware you didn’t reset the Router… So reset the Router, power cycle the whole network… Then follow the steps:
If you want to configure the router with the help of the CD so for that you need to uninstall the existing Cisco Connect Software from the computer if there...
Reset the Router and power cycle the network...Make the following connectivity – Connect the Modem with the Router’s Internet port and then connect the Computer with any one of the Ethernet port of the Router [Numbered 1, 2, 3 and 4]... Then install the Cisco Connect Software... It will help you in configuring the Router...
Otherwise you can configure it manually as well…For Let me know the name of the ISP [Internet Service Provider] – means the connection is a DSL connection or cable connection…
So if you have a DSL connection you can refer to this link:
http://www6.nohold.net/Cisco2/ukp.aspx?pid=93&login=1&vw=1&app=search&articleid=4020&userrole=Linksy...
So if you have a Cable Internet Connection you can refer to this link:
http://www6.nohold.net/Cisco2/ukp.aspx?pid=93&vw=1&articleid=3686
As far as the wireless is concern:
# Open up the browser and on the address bar type “IP address of the Default Gateway” that will open up the Router setup page…
# Then Click on wireless Tab create the Wireless Network Name SSID and select the channel to 6, 9, and 11… Click Save Settings...
# Then Click on Wireless Security sub tab and select the security mode and provide the password as per the requirement… Click Save Settings...
After doing the settings try to connect the preferred network on the wireless devices and check the connectivity…. -
Just got a new iphone5. Why are addresses for every e-mail I've sent for the past 2 days added to my contact list -- not just once, but twice!? How can I stop this from happening?
Firefox doesn't store email addresses except as form data; data that you typed previously into Firefox.
See if clearing form history solves that problem: [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/control-firefox-automatically-fills-in-forms?esab=a&s=clear+form+data&r=5&as=s#w_clearing-form-history Clearing form history]
