My iMac CD player stopped recognizing music CDs and just ejects them?

I was importing music and all of the sudden the CD player on my iMac would read the discs and spit them out without recognizing them in iTunes. I tried multiple CDs, even ones that I had previously imported. Any ideas?

Thanks for your response. I tried all different types of music CDs.
Commercial or home-made (burned)?
Another thought: iMac Superdrives are known to be extremely finicky, so have you looked at your CDs? Is there a scratch, dirt, or anything else on them?
And, how old is your Mac? Superdrives (or any other hardware components) do not last forever; they will fail at some point.
And, I'm sure you followed these steps, but just in case:

When I try to print, it does not even appear to "connect" to the printer software. Normally, a printer icon will pop up in the taskbar, but this does not happen with Firefox. Also, in Mac, you have the option of saving the webpage as a pdf document.
