If you intend to keep using iCloud on your iPad, your best course of action would be to update your Apple ID/iCloud information so that you have a known password and it is associated with an active email address. You may find the following articles helpful:

One iMAC of four not accessable

I have four Intel iMACs OS X Tiger w latest updates running on a Windows network with four WinXP sp2 machines w latest updates. I can access three of the iMACs and they can access the PCs but one of the iMACs does not wish to cooperate. When I attempt to access the iMAC from my PC, in the log in window it adds my PCs name to the user name of the iMAC with a backslash between them and highlights the password field. When I attempt to access the PC from the iMac, it works. The iMAC also shows a detailed list of network resources where the other iMACs show the server, the library, "my network" and my workgroup name. The iMACs were purchased and delivered at the same time, all have been uupdated in the same session, and the sharing and SMB settings are all identical. Any help would be appreciated

CDROM not accessable

We have a SUN Ultra 10 machine with solaris 2.6 . After booting the CDROM drive is not accessable.What could be the problem.
We have checked the cdrom is ok prompt using devalias.
The cdrom is listed .when checking /devices/rdsk directory there is only dad is found . we could not see any sd or atapi cd there.How to set it right.

Well, when you share /cdrom/ you only share the contents of that directory which is on that disk. The contents of /cdrom/sol_10_106_sparc/s0 is not shared, since its a mountpoint of its own.
What you need to do is to share both:
/cdrom/sol_10_106_sparc/s0
and
/cdrom/sol_10_106_sparc/s1
You also needs to mount them as
/path/s0 and /path/s1 on the client in order for the setup_install_server to work, since the script in question accesses ../../../../s[0-1]/<some files/directories> .
When setup_install_server complains that it can't find the table of contents it cant read the s0 part.

I tried unplugging the cord that connects the HD to the iMac and plugging it back in, but I still get "The disk you inserted was not readable by this computer" below which are buttons for Initialize, Ignore and Eject. I was using a cord that went from larger square plug to larger square plug. So then I tried one that went from smaller square plug to what I think is USB (thin rectangular plug) of the sort that connects the keyboard and mouse. Thanks, Michael! I do hear it at times spooling up and running. Just after I bumped the thread I looked for troubleshooting for this drive online and found the manual which suggested using Disk Utility which I've seen before accidentally (if I hit Command Shift U instead of Shift U to type "Unit" on a new folder for a student's homework ) but had never really noticed. Disk Utility does see it and also a sub-something (directory?) which might be the Time Machine archives on the disk, called disk1s2), sort of the way that my iMac's hard drive shows up as 640.14 GB Nitachi HDT7... and has a sub-something titled DB iMac, which is what I named my iMac's hard drive.
Anyway the owner's manual just shows the image under the formatting section, not the troubleshooting section, but as soon as I saw it in the manual I remembered seeing it accidentally a few times, went to it, and am now verifying the disk. Right now it's telling me that it will take 2 hours to complete the verification, so I guess I have a bigt of a wait. :-)
Does that fact that Disk Utilities can see it mean it's not failed, or just that it hasn't completely failed?
I can see the virtue in having multiple redundant backups, or at least two backups. What do you suggest? Two external hard drives? I had this one linked by ethernet, and but I also have a cord that could link it by USB (like a printer), so if this one is reparable I could get a second one and link it by USB. If this one is not reparable I could get two and do the same thing. I do have an Airport so I suppose it's possible to get some sort of Wi-Fi hard drive (my new printer/scanner uses only the network and not a cable, although it has a cable that I used for the initial installation), but I'd suspect a Wi-Fi hard drive might have a higher price.
What hard drives, if any, do you recommend? I seem to recall that when I was looking at external hard drives 4 years ago, Apple's were substantially more expensive, which is why I got the OWC Mercury Elite All Pro.

Back up all data before making any changes. Please take each of the following steps until the problem is resolved.
Step 1
If Adobe Reader or Acrobat is installed, and the problem is just that you can't print or save PDF's displayed in Safari, you may be able to do so by moving the cursor to the the bottom edge of the page, somewhere near the middle. A black toolbar should appear under the cursor. Click the printer or disk icon.
Step 2
There should be a setting in its preferences of the Adobe application such as Display PDF in Browser. I don't use those applications myself, so I can't be more precise. Deselect that setting, if it's selected.
Step 3
If you get a message such as ""Adobe Reader blocked for this website," then from the Safari menu bar, select
          Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Security
and check the box marked
          Allow Plug-ins
Then click
          Manage Website Settings...
and make any required changes to the security settings for the Adobe PDF plugin.
Step 4
Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it, the copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C:

The same goes for a plugin called "iGetter," and perhaps others—I don't have a complete list. Don't remove Silverlight if you use the "Netflix" video-streaming service.
Step 6
Do as in Step 4 with this line:

If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari.

My gmail, which is correctly configured for Mail with gmail SMTP and Google IMAP, works for awhile on Mail, which I leave open while working on other applications. But several times a day I get msg from Google: "We recently blocked a sign-in attempt to your Google Account" . . . and requiring me to verify my account details, re-enter passwords, confirm security settings (or change them from "disable" to "enable less secure methods" and so on). In Mail I also have tried "taking all accounts online", and re-entering my gmail password inside Mail account settings. These steps successfully re-set comms between gmail and Mail ... for awhile, then it happens again. Enough occurrences over a work day that I just quit Mail and revert to accessing gmail directly. Apple Care advisor and an Apple knowledge base article say that Apple can't deal with this, as gmail is third-party app, and they refer me to gmail, and so far I've found nothing helpful there.
From today I also have several instances of a window saying "Mail has unexpectedly closed" and asking me to Re-open it.
I also use Yahoo mail, which stops working with Mac Mail at the same time as gmail, but I do not receive notices to re-verify from Yahoo.

No easy fix for a few reasons:
1) Bootcamp requires a hybrid MBR for the partition table. That is: both an MBR and a GPT partition table at the same time with the GPT one having all partitions and the MBR one having only the ones that are relevant, but at most 4 of them (including the protective partition and the Macintosh HD one). Which leads us to:
2) The MBR part of the hybrid partition table cannot work with 3TB hard drives. MBR is limited to 2TB.
I am working on a small EFI app that can boot Windows in EFI mode on a Mac and that would mean that you can go GPT only on your system. The progress of the app is slow due to the nature of EFI and for now requires that you do an unattended Windows install with slipstreamed graphics drivers, but we are adding VGA loading on top of EFI quite soon after the rest of the app stabilises. The status of the app is documented at:
Win7 x64 booting natively via EFI (no bios emulation)
Windows does actually successfully boot in EFI mode on most Macs (anything with a 64bit EFI should work), but does not have graphics support even if you load the driver due to the VGA pci registers not being set by the firmware. Furthermore, in Setup and Safe Mode, Windows uses VGA instead of GOP which is a failure by design since VGA is a BIOS standard and not really compatible without hacks with EFI. Other EFI implementations also add VGA compatibility at a high cost to the firmware complexity for the VGA cards available on the market that don't actually contain anything in their ROM except the VGA BIOS.
My recomendations:
1) Install on a second smaller hard-drive; or
2) Wait for the EFI app to come out officially and use that to boot Windows Vista SP1 x64 and Windows 7 x64 (RTM and SP1) in the native EFI mode.
3) Wait for Windows 8 which supports VGA-less booting acording to the AMD presentation at UEFI Plugfest.

If you don't have it then you will have to reinstall Lion:
Reinstall Lion, Mountain Lion, Mavericks or Yosemite without erasing drive
Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported then click on the Repair Permissions button. When the process is completed, then quit DU and return to the main menu.

iTunes 11 requires Snow Leopard 10.6.8. According to your signature you have Leopard 10.5.8, so you can't install it. If you don't have the highest version Leopard can handle then Software Update will update it for you, but for iTunes 11 you would have to upgrade your computer to Snow Leopard. iMacs are Not like PC's, which are generic and have commonly interchangeable parts. They are also prone to all sorts of driver conflicts between different versions of hardware that can be installed. Apple avoided all these conflict frustrations by building each model of Mac to a specific, tightly controlled standard "that just works right out of the box". But they are Not upgradeable after purchase except for RAM Upgrades and Hard Drive replacement. That's the tradeoff between getting a PC and getting a Mac.

Sorry, but that is correct. You need Snow Leopard to sync your phone and the latest version of iTunes and you old G5 cannot run that.
