My iMac has stopped being able to access the Internet using safari, firefox or goggle chrome. Skype and downloads working fine..... Just all of a sudden, browsing was stopped.... Everything else on wifi system is fine... I

I am running version 10.8.3 on mountain lion, and I'm sure it has something to do with bathe network settings, but have no idea how to fix it.... Everything has been set on automatic, but now doesn't seem to work.
I'm confused.... iPad, iPhone, works just fine on wifi... Just the browsing on iMac

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, or by a peripheral device.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Post for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

Would you care to tell us which version of Mac Pro, and which version of OS X, you are running? (It's not always safe to assume that a User is running Lion just because he posted in the Lion Forum.)

At times I have to restart my iMac 10 times before I can access the internet on Safari. iPad and iPhone are fine.

What router are you using? make/model/version
What security type are you using? If it is WEP then symbolic (non hex) keys may be converted to hex in different ways by different operating systems. Is your laptop a Windows PC?
If you are using WEP then drop it and move to WPA2. WEP has been deprecated by the WiFi alliance since 2004 as insecure (it can be hacked in seconds).

My TC has been working fine. Using WIFI my iMac, ipod touch were able to access the internet. Last night, no internet access and when I plug the router connection in my Mac all is good.

My TC was fine, it supports a Mac and an ipod touch. I have had no issues until last night. Nominternet access, Timecapsule app cannot detect or finf the TC. I have my router cable plugged into my Mac and it's fine. I am using Leopard and have no idea what TC firmware version I am on. The TC does get hot! Any clues?

Firmware downgrade.
Go to the airport menu at the top of the page when you have airport utility open.
The second screen will open over the airport utility.
Now hold down the option key when you select firmware so not just new ones open but also old ones.
You get a warning ..
You proceed.
Now you have your TC with whatever firmware you chose.
That is about as Gumpy as I can do it.

Nope. It just opened the installer and stayed in the same loop.
It tells me to choose a startup disk but the only option is the HD which it will not use because it says it cannot gather enough information.
Eveything was working fine until the mountain lion failed install.

Despite the WiFi connection sign you may not really be connected to your WiFi network.
Your router may not have given your iPad a valid IP address when the iPad requested it. To check on this go to Settings > Wifi > your network name and touch the ">" to the right to see the network details. If the IP address shown starts with 169 or is blank then your router didn't provide an IP address and you won't be able to access the Internet.
Sometimes the fix for this can be as simple as restarting your router (remove power for 30 seconds and restart). Next, reset network settings on your iPad (Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings) and then attempt to connect. Sounds like a bogus pop up. In any case power down your Mac, your modem, your router. Then power back up in 1 minute sequence; modem, router, Mac.

I recently upgraded my original Hitachi 160GB hard drive on my Lenovo IdeaPad Y510 to a WD 320GB hard drive, and cloned my original hard drive image to the new hard drive using Acronis True Image WD Edition's Disc Cloning utility. I had the utility resize the original partitions proportionally. Everything else seems to have transferred correctly to my new hard drive, but I find that ONLY Internet Explorer is able to access the internet, although I can ping my network printer, the other computers on my home wireless network, and even other IP addresses on the internet such as www.google.com, etc.
I had removed my previous ZoneAlarm Free Firewall before doing the hard drive upgrade; it appears to have been conflicting with my Mozilla Firefox and Thunderbird applications, causing them to hang up and then not close down properly. I am currently using only the Windows Firewall and Windows Defender, along with AVG 9.0.814 Free Antivirus, SpyBot S&D 1.6.2.0 and Spywareblaster 4.3. I also used to use AdAware Free Edition, but had to uninstall it as I have not been able to update it to the newest version successfully.
Is there something in the Windows Vista Home Premium OS I have on my machine that might be causing this problem? It is funny that ONLY Internet Explorer is able to access the internet now.

Yes I do, and even with them checked to allow access (i.e., as an exception), it does not help. I have tried all of the MS help about the problem, but they refer me to my machine's manufacturer for support, since my copy of Windows Vista came with it. I cannot even use my DVD NeXtCopy software, as it requires access to the internet too, and even after re-installing it, I cannot activate the new installation because it cannot access the activation server!
I hope someone can help me. Upgrading to this new hard drive should not be so disastrous!

I have installed solaris 10 and it is in subnet but no router. I was not able to access the internet.

When I create the file dhcp.e1000g0 internet works but the hostname becomes unknown.

The services you listed in your post will require a data plan which is provisioned by your wireless provider. You may want to contact your wireless provider to see if you have the correct plan.
