My iMac is incredibly HOT to the touch in the back.

My iMac is so hot in the back, I can't hold my hand to it for any length of time. Im a new Mac person, is this normal for a Mac? Thanks

So, all of the optical drives, hard drives, GPUs and logic board failures that get posted here ( and since I been a part of these iMac forums for over a year, there have been a lot of them) are just normal wear and tear component failures and aren't internal heat related at all, huh? And they are isolated cases?

The aluminum case doesn't transfer the heat out as fast as it is being generated, internally. The fans run too slow and ramp up too late to move the heat out quick enough, either AND there is minimal outer case venting! Period.!
I own a LaCie LCD Monitor that has better rear cooling venting and that is just LCD monitor and not an AIO computer! Earlier iMac designs had much better venting systems than these newer Aluminum style models.
When I first got this iMac, mine was getting as hot as the OP's iMac. I found the fan control solution,ramped up the fans and run an external small desktop fan at the back of the iMac.
The internal fans run fast enough without the spinning noise being annoyingly loud.
I Am tired of seeing posts from all of the higher level users here telling people that the iMac getting hot, not just warm, is a normal characteristic and there should be no worry.
It simply is not true.
A Cooler running iMac is a much happier and longer lasting and longer running iMac that will, most likely, have less premature, major component failures.
If the OPs iMac is running too hot, then take whatever precautions against this as you can!
I truly believe heat is the Achilles' heel to the trouble free, long life operation of these iMacs!

You can't go directly from the Touch to the Shuffle, but if you can get the music into your itunes library on your computer, you'll be able to sync that music to the Shuffle no problem. Based upon your OP, I don't think Assistive Touch is what you want. For more info on AT, see p. 155 of the User Guide.
For your problem, try cleaning the screen and/or removing your screen protector. It's a long shot but quick and easy to do.
If still a problem, try restoring with your backup.
FYI, there is no adjustment for the touch screen sensitivity.

This happens if I upload too many HD photos at once. You are overworking the processor. Just leave your phone off and put it on top of a plastic bag of ice to cool it down. To keep this from happening you have to remove apps from the multitasker by double tapping the home button when the phone is on the home screen or in an app, then hold down on an app, then just press the little red minus signs. This won't delte the app, it just quits them (for example: quitting Skype will not allow you to recieve calls, quitting Facebook will stop you from receiving messages until you reopen the app, quitting the Phone app will not stop you from getting calls or texts though). This will save a great deal of battery.

The issue is not selling. We bought our daughter a new ipod touch and when i went to activate it i entered ny apple ID whichi is the ID on my sons iphone 5. can I deactivate my daughters account ( earase) her ipod without deleting info from the iphone? For example, contacts are connected. I make a change in one and it streams to the other. we created anew apple ID on the touch but it does not stream across the programs, i.e. facetime, icloud.

You can delete the existing iCloud account from the iPod touch by going to Settings>iCloud, scroll down and tap Delete Account, then provide the password when prompted and choose Delete from My iPod to delete your son's iCloud data from her iPod Touch. This only deletes the account and iCloud data from her iPod, not from iCloud. Your son's iPhone will not be effected by this. You can then sign back in with a separate ID to create a separate iCloud account for her iPod.
If you need to change the ID for iMessage, go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with a separate ID. Then do the same thing in Settings>FaceTime. This will keep them from getting each other's text messages and FaceTime calls.

HT1848 I purchased Springsteen's Wrecking Ball using my ipod touch. Then I was syncing the touch and the lp was transferred to the pc via a download from the store. I cannot get it to sync back onto the ipod nor can I play or move individual songs to play

Something may have gone amiss on your iPhone.
To attempt to correct this follow these steps:
Backup your iPhone using iTunes or iCloud.
Use iTunes to completely restore your iPhone as Factory new.
Monitor battery usage to see if it is normal. If not, you may have a hardware problem - if so, contact Apple support.
Restore your iPhone from your backup above.
Check battery usage to confirm that it is still normal.

IMac 27 inch..i7 incredibly hot..fans working overtime

My imac 27inch 2.93 i7 is running so hot, the fans are running overtime. It is just too hot to touch at the top. I am concerned the house will catch fire. The only open apps are Safari, and emptying a huge amount of trash 38k items from itunes.
Any recommendations?

Hi - These iMac's do feel hot to the touch, but the fans should'nt be kicking off as you describe.
As a first step your could try resetting both the SMC:

Elitebook 8570w hot to the touch, can't find fan sensor data

Hi, I am having issues with a HP Elitebook 8570w and its functioning. When using a lot of the cpu the heat builds up to the point that it can get slightly painful to the touch on the left side. This includes the left most keys of the keyboard. The fan itself is nearly silent and there is barely any airflow through the exhaust. But can be heard to be moving. The laptop itself is inclinded and the fan doesn't look blocked when inspected through the service latch. The only physical block I can imagine is with the side exhaust but I can't examine that without taking apart the entire thing. So I am trying to diagnose the situation. However I have not been able to find any way of monitoring the fan speeds and utilisation. (SpeedFan and its ilk appear to be unable to find a fan) Do I need to go into the bios for this? As I'd rather not send it in just for a software issue. But with temperatures around 90-120 degrees celcius I'd really like to do something about this.

MY suggestion would be to send the unit for service if it is under warranty and get it fixed. If the unit is not under warranty then please check the vents and clean it since i belive it should be blocked . I am a HP Employee. The comments made reflects only my idea/knowledge and not HP. Not sure if I sould put my InvisibleShield on both sides of the touch

I've already gotten my full-body invisible shield thing, and yesterday I ordered a touch.
In some discussion someone said that it's better to put the IS only on the back side of the touch because the when you put it on the screen it reduces its quality.

And I really don't want my touch gettin' scratched like it happened to this one.
So if I already have a full-body InvisibleShield, should I put it on both sides or just the back?
And is it possible to remove the front shield without it leaving any "marks"?

Is there a way to shuffle music videos on the Touch?

The Touch is my first video iPod, and I was shocked to see I can't shuffle my videos. I just bought a slew of music videos, and I would like to be able to organize them into playlists and shuffle those, just like my songs. Right now I can only play one video at a time, then I have to manually go back and select another video.
Am I missing something? Or will this functionality be added in a future software update? Playing videos just isn't very convenient or enjoyable at all with the current lack of shuffle capability. Anyone else feel the same, or am I all alone on this?

Have done the feedback thing, and hopefully others have as well. Any idea if this functionality of being able to organize playlists of your music videos and play them as such is going to be be possible in any upcoming software upgrade?
I have actually gone ahead and got the universal dock and component cables, so I can view my music videos on my big screen TV and sound through my stereo and speakers. Sure would be nice to be able to allow a playlist of videos to continually play nonstop without having to go to the Touch after the conclsusion of each single video and select the next one to play.
