My iMac maks a burping sound every 2 seconds, anything I can do to get rid of this sound or do I need to take it in?

hey, im also facing this burping sound every 2 seconds.
i just started having it today and i did update the apple updates as well.
not sure if its connected but its irritating me.
if i turn off the volume, the sound goes away too.
please help!

Every time I open the browser, a pop-up window asks "Do you want the following program to make changes to this computer?"
It is unnecessary and annoying to have to click "yes" each time.

Thanks for the help I'll keep the info just in case - but I got so frustrated that I just deleted the program and then re downloaded the current version now everything works fine.

Naarative sound with programme -how do you get rid...

On some programmes, regardless of channel, usually drama but sometimes other programmes, apart from the expected sound we get a sort of narrative describing what is happenning - i.e. what we can see on the screen e.g. x now enters room, turns to y and stares at her. - then when the conversation starts the "narrative" sound stops until another scene starts - rather like a story board - it is as if the "narrative sound" is to help a blind person know what is going on until the dialogue stops
Has anyone experienced this and have a solution?

Sounds like you've accidently turned audio description on...
Press the BT Vision button on your remote control
go to Settings > General Settings > Audio Description.
Then put a tick next to "Disabled" and press Save.

It's likely that one of your login items is causing the problem. Select the Login Items tab in the Users & Groups pane of System Preferences. Delete any items that you don't recognize.

And then when you reply to a post you click the camera button at the top of the post window to attach an image.
From your description it sounds like you are adding an event to iCal and it is syncing (which is what its supposed to do). If you see something in iCal on the Mac and you don't want it there, click on it once and then go to Edit > Delete.
If you still can't delete that event:
1. First make an iCal backup: Click on each calendar on the left hand side of iCal one at a time highlighting it's name and then going to File Export > Export and saving the resulting calendar file to a logical location for safekeeping.
2. Go to iCal > Quit iCal
3. Remove the following to the trash and restart your computer:
Home > Library > Caches > com.apple.ical
Home > Library > Calendars > Calendar Cache, Cache, Cache 1, 2, 3, etc. (Do not remove Sync Cache or Theme Cache if present)
--- NOTE: To get to "Home > Library" in Lion: Click anywhere on the desktop and then click on the "Go" menu at the top of the computer screen while holding down the "option" key on the keyboard. You will see "Library" in the menu.
4. Launch iCal and test.
If the issue persists:

Do you happen to use a USB modem or something like that? This could be the cause.
You could try creating a new network location to see if that fixes it (if not you can just reverse it)
1. Go to  Menu -> System Preferences
2. Then go to Network on the 3rd row
3. Make sure the padlock is unlocked (bottom left) with your admin password
4. Choose 'Automatic' next to 'Location' at the top.
5. Choose 'Edit Locations'
6. Then click the + button, and create a new one called home/test/somethingorother
7. Click Done -> Save and wait a few seconds
8. You may have to reconnect to your Wi Fi network etc.
If you have a USB modem, the above steps will most likely remove its config from the Network preferences. As I said, its reversable (just change location back to automatic)

No not bothered about sycing apps etc it is all about calendars and maybe notes. IN terms of how its done I just want it the easiest way and preferably so that if an entry is made on one calendar then it populates the other.

Safari 7 (Mavericks): Search the web

To set the default search engine, choose Safari > Preferences, then click General.
If you are having problems with extensions you can uninstall and reinstall the extension.
Safari 7 (Mavericks): Install and update Safari extensions

Make a temporary backup of your library (if you don't already have a backup of it) and launch iPhoto with the Command +Option key held down and rebuild the library with options #1, 2, 3 and 6 selected.
