mishmumken is correct about the 99 slides. There's an 99 chapter limit in each slideshow for DVDs and each photo is considered a chapter. iDVD gets around that by renaming slide 100 back to 1 and goes on.
The pause can be minimized (but not eliminated) by burning to disk at the slowest speed available: usually 4x or 2x. Save the project to disk (File ➙ Save to Disk menu option) and play the disk image with DVD player to check out the transition at 99 and 198. Then burn the disk image to disk with Disk Utility at the slowest speed possible. Also use top quality media: Verbatium, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.

Firefox 5 Searching for images on the web is much slower than opera and my previous Firefox version. Can I turn off the useless zoom thing when I hover over an image for a few seconds?

OK, what I want to do is search for images with Google or similar search engine. This was fine in my previous FF version. The images just loaded as thumbnails, all the same size and I had to click on one to open it in a new tab or whatever I wanted to do. Now the images load all different sizes and if I hover for a moment over on, it zooms in a bit and gives me some image details. This slows image searching to the point of being very frustrating. I thought this might be a Google things, so tried other search engines. Tried switching Javascript off to speed things up, just blank grey rectangles displayed. Tried Opera and it loads basic images like Firefox used to, FAST...

The speed of image searching isn't a problem for me. The trouble is, the automatic zoom function is lightning fast and I find it disturbing to the point that it makes me feel very ill.
I very much want a way of suppressing it.

Firefox 4.0.1 has been an unsafe browser since the release of Firefox 5. So please don't use it.

Time capsule does not appear in the finder.

My time capsule appears in airport utility. It is ready to go. I have it on ethernet because airport isn't a very powerful wireless router. The time capsule does not appear in the finder. It does not appear in the disc utility. It does not appear in time machine. The airport utility will do factory resets, get it ready for internet, whatever. The rest of my net work can not see it.
I have done the finder preferences. I have restarted the computer, jiggered the sharing preferences, done factory resets, tried to find sparce bundles and sparse bundles, reset the finder, force quit finder, tried to find finder plsts, trawled the discussion pages, tried to find server addresses and apple ids. Nothing seems to work.
Time capsule never seems to work as smoothly as it supposed to. I shudder to present my problems to apple support because I know that its a long road and will probably end in tears. But here I am, naked before this disappointing edifice.
Does anyone have any ideas?

What is the make and model number of your modem?
I have a microwave modem on my roof. I don't think that has anything to do with this. I am not using my airport for a wireless router, only as a time capsule connected by ethernet. The Airport Utility calls my airport : Airport Extreme 802.11 ( 1st Generation )
Is the Time Capsule acting as your main router or is another device handling those services?
No, I have a lyncsis router. The wireless router function on airports doesn't seem to work very well. I don't think thats a problem with mine. My brothers have gone with lyncsis as well.
Was the Time Capsule visible in the Finder before, and is now "lost", or has it never appeared in the Finder?
It appeared on my previous laptop. That died. Now I have an imac. The airport has never appeared on the imac.

How to identify the times that a item appears in a report.

Let me explain the scenario.
We have developed several reports for its use by the several users of the company. So, we have reports for Management, Administration, Commercials and our Production Users. Let's focus in last ones. Several reports shows the production of our semi-elaborated and elaborated products and the stock of the components needed to build those semi-elaborated and elaborated products.
Our Production users, wants to know how to include a calculated column that shows the times that an item appears in the report (or if there is a way to show in the report, how many times an item appears in it).
We have just trried to create a calculated column including in it the COUNT_DISTINCT function (using its both expressions), but we do not understand all the parameters.
So can anyone in the community help us?

Hi,
It all depends on what information you have in your report and what data items are available in the database.
If you have a grouped report (group sort) so that you have one line for each product, then you can use COUNT_DISTINCT(item_id) as a grouped function. This will give you the number of different not null item_id's found in the group.
However, if your report is not grouped by product, so for example, you have many component lines for each product but you want to show one figure for all the product components lines then you need to use COUNT_DISTINCT(item_id) as an analytic function. The COUNT_DISTINCT(item_id) OVER (PARTITION BY product_id) will give you the number of not null item_id's for each product_id in the report.
If you have the time when an item is added to the database then you may want to use the group function MIN(time_of_item) to show the earliest time in the report.

no you can't install apps on Apple TV and it does not have a browser
but if you have a supported iOS device like iPad or iPhone or iPod touch you can airplay mirror it's screen to the tv using the appletv
and if their screen is displaying a browser then you got what you wish

Basically, you don't.
The 'spinning wheel' is simply an indicator that an operation is taking longer than it should. It doesn't say anything about why, or even if it's an error or not. If it's in Word, it could be that the app is hung, or it could be that it is waiting for some kind of user input, or input from another app. (My bet would be on the former.) You could go into Activity Monitor, identify the process that's making it wait, kill it, cross your fingers and hope that it would generate an error that would cause Word to return control to the user (you). If you had the expertise, that is, and the moon were in right quadrant.
Realistically, your only option is to force-quit Word. Once that is done, if AutoRecovery was on, then, with luck, you could recover much of your work. Here

First, back up all data immediately, as your boot drive may be failing.
If you have more than ten or so files or folders on your Desktop, move them, temporarily at least, somewhere else in your home folder.
If iCloud is enabled, disable it.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except keyboard, mouse, and monitor, if applicable. Launch the usual set of applications you use when you notice the problem.

Launch the Activity Monitor application in any of the following ways:

Mac Mini runs SOOO SLOW. Wheel of Death spins all the time. Should I reload all the software?

I own four Macs, which includes three laptops and a Mac Mini. One laptop uses Mavericks, the other two laptops are Lions. They ALL work GREAT at a quick speed. The Mini, on the same wireless, runs soooo much slower, I wonder if there's a virus on it. The wheel of death is constantly spinning every time I click anywhere, i.e. Opening a new program, new file, or surfing the net. SOMETIMES FOR 30 SECONDS +. Nothing is quick. I took it to the Apple store, and they said there's plenty of space on it. It's OS X Lion 10.7.5. 11 G63. I noticed if I shut it down and restart it, it works better with less tabs open in Google Chrome.
I really don't know anything about computers. I have Word and Excel loaded on it. Should I delete the hard drive and start all over? Could there be a virus on it? I don't know where the software is for the Microsoft product... If I wrote down the serial numbers of Word and Excel, is that enough to reload it?

Make sure your trash is emptied, also your iPhoto trash is emptied, your caches are are clear, build up of these can rally slow things down.

Chance of a virus is slim, macs are quite good at taking care of themselves, and most anti-virus software will slow down your computer and not really protect you at all, so stay away from that stuff.
