My imac OSx 10.9.1 keeps going in to standby and has to be rebooted any ideas?

I have recently reloaded my i mac from scratch and installed 10.9.1. Despiite the energy savings being set to "never sleep" when the screen saver kicks in it will not come back to life and I have to rebot. Has any one else had this issue?

It sounds like your computer is not waking from sleep properly even though you have the devcice set to never go to sleep. I have a few recommendations to try. First reset the SMC on your computer:
Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)

Shut down the computer.
Unplug the computer's power cord.
Wait fifteen seconds.
Attach the computer's power cord.
Wait five seconds, then press the power button to turn on the computer.
Then perform a Safe Boot, and then leave Safe Boot.

And the last step is to reset the PRAM of the computer.
Shut down your Mac.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command (⌘), Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
Release the keys.
After resetting NVRAM or PRAM, you may need to reconfigure your settings for speaker volume, screen resolution, startup disk selection, and time zone information.

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins and log in as Guest. For instructions, launch the System Preferences application, select Help from the menu bar, and enter “Set up a guest account” (without the quotes) in the search box.
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem(s)?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault in Mac OS X 10.7 or later, then you can’t enable the Guest account. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Be sure your Mac is shut down.
Press the power button.
Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold the Shift key. The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone.
Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple icon and the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Note: If FileVault is enabled under Mac OS X 10.7 or later, you can’t boot in safe mode.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem(s)?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of steps 1 and 2.

I've had my ipad for almost a year and it's worked fine up until the new ios6. Now, when I'm using facetime it keeps cutting the conversation off and we have to reconnect - any ideas?

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on the router
- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

Equium P200D-139 suddenly goes to blank screen and has to be rebooted

Have a Toshiba laptop: Equium P200D-139. Just reinstalled vista (because laptop was glitchy and slow) and computer has just started going to a blank screen randomly, no error reports..nothing.
Works fine after it has been rebooted, have restored in safe mode, uninstalled updates....but have run put of ideas.
Would appreciate some help, thanks.

Hmmm. my notebooks screen was blank sometimes after wakeup from sleep mode.
But after new reboot everything was OK.
I searched a little bit in the forum and found some people who have recommended a BIOS and display driver update.
I did this and could solve my issue

For the "Arangements" option to appear, the external display must be turned on with the correct input selected and connected to the computer. Then close system prefs, reopen, go to "Display" and "Arrangement" will be along the top.

Why do my notes keep going to my yahoo and leaving my iPad

Why do my notes keep going to my yahoo and leaving my iPad. I have had this problem ever since I did the last two system updates. I deleted my Google Gmail from the account and kept my yahoo email, and is still have the same problem. The notes keep going away. They CAN be found in my Yahoo email account under "notes" when accessed via the Yahoo web page ( thank goodness!) , but why does it keep leaving my iPad?

This is from a previous response on an identical problem which I copy and pasted. I think this may help. I only wish they would stay on the iPad and backup to the email notes... That seems would be ideal.

I think I've got the answer to this one now. Apparently Notes automatically synchronises with your Yahoo account, and according to Yahoo, this is a one-way synchronisation. In other words it moves the note from your iDevice to a new folder called Notes in your Yahoo e-mail account, and doesn't leave a copy on your iPad.
The solution is therefore fairly simple - go to Settings / Mail, Contacts, Calendars / Yahoo and turn the Notes synchronisation off. NOTE that this will delete the Notes on your iDevice, but they should stay on Yahoo (might be worth e-mailing them to yourself beforehand just to be sure). You should the find that, if you look under Settings / Notes it will say iDevice only rather than Yahoo. So all Notes will then stay on your iDevice.

Plug the device into a wall outlet and leave it for about 20 minutes. If it has not powered on at that point try a reset by pressing and holding the home and power buttons for about 15 seconds until the white Apple logo appears.

So, as discussed the main issues are:
1) The TOC doesn't generate all the listings (only those with the applied paragraph style "Heading 1 - Appendix")
2) When I try to create a new pargraph style and apply it to existing or new text, it reads the pargraph style in the Paragraph Style menu, but the style doesn't actually apply.
Hopefully you can figure something out from this. I really appreciate your help.

Try a Hard Reset.....
Press and hold the Wake / Sleep button AND the Home button at the same time, keep them both pressed until the Apple Logo appears on the screen, it can take 10 or more seconds. Ignore the swipe to turn off message.
