My IMac  version 10.6.8 with Intel core duo beeps and turns off unexpectedly in both Mac and Windows mode. How do I fix this?

My IMac turns off unexpectedly in both Mac & Windows mode.  I've repaired disc and permissions using the Snow Leopard install disk and cleared the cache without help.  Any ideas how to prevent this?

The HAT test detected no problems.  Perhaps one of the peripherals, e.g., the backup disk, is causing the problem.  I'll try to run the MAC without peripherals for a few days and see what happens, unless you have other suggestions.
Thanks
