My iMessage and Facetime still say "waiting for activation" after 48 hours
My iMessage and Facetime still say "waiting for activation." It's been two days and it still says the same thing. I called customer service an they weren't any help whatsoever. Please helpppp!:(
Yea.. 2hrs with Apple and no help whatso ever. Mines been like that since the day of release of iOS 6, serveral days have past and its getting very irritating with no answers.

Back up, Erase all content and settings, Restore iPhone (downloads fresh iOS), restore from backup. Should fix. You will not lose texts, etc.

IMessage and Facetime stuck at "Waiting for Activation ..."
Hi,
After updating my iPhone 5 to iOS 8.2, I noticed that iMessage and Facetime are refusing to get activated using my phone number. I tried all the known solutions on the internet - reset network settings, reset all settings, restore iPhone to factory settings and setting up as new device, trying to activate while in Airline Mode, uncountable reboots (both, hard and regular varieties), updating my Apple ID password - but just no luck.
Under Settings -- Messages -- iMessages -- Send/Receive, I can see my email addresses listed and checked but my phone number does not appear in the list. If I click on my Apple ID, sign out and tap on "Use Apple ID for iMessage", I am seeing my phone number, but its grayed out. Same applies to Facetime.
Everything was normal and working before the iOS 8.2 update.
Did anyone else also face issues activating iMessage and FaceTime post iOS 8.2 update? Or is it only me? :-(

I just restored my iphone5 (iOS6.1) & when it finaly finished restoring I noticed that imessage and Facetime was stuck on 'waiting for activation' I restored it again and again. I also tried restoring network settings & nothing helped. is there any other solutions? please help me! nothing is the same without iMessage or Facetime. please & thankyou(:

My imessage is working when im signed into my apple id butmy phone number is still not activated, my imessage still says waiting for activation how do i fix it ?
Go to Settings > Messages and turn iMessage OFF.
Then go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset Network Settings. Your phone will restart. You will not lose any data, but you will have to re-enter any Wi-Fi network passwords.
Once the phone has re-started and you have a network connection (either 3G or Wi-Fi), turn iMessage back ON. -

Don't understand why my Imessaging stopped working. If I go to settings messages and check out Imessaging it just says waiting for activation.
Change the DNS servers of the wifi network to 8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4
Go to settings>general>date&time> set automaticly , turn it on if it wasn't

I didn't get an email but first a warning that my carrier might charge me for the text message that would be used to activate. Said OK. Messages activated and my phone number was added below the email address. I now have two 'recieve at' addresses.
Don't know if this hepls but you can stop worrying about the 'missing' email.
