My imessage suddenly quit working. We have done resets and restored it and still nothing. Even created a new Apple ID but have noticed that in the send & received part of settings, it does not show my phone number, only my email address!! Never had a problem before today!
You can have a separate AppleID only for iMessage and keep using the other one for iTunes.
Just change the AppleID used for iMessage in Settings > Messages > Receive At

Trying to clear unread emails shown as a badge next to mail icon, have done network reset and now a complete factory reset and checked server. Any other thoughts on clearing these ghost emails?? Also can we get our old keyboard back that shows lower case and upper case?
Understood, the difference with iTunes being that Apple doesn't (currently) require you to enter any account info on the device until you try to purchase something from their store. Initial setup is just a connection to the iTunes software and you're good to go.
While I understand that RIM wishes the account to be defined, they also need to be aware that doing so during the initial setup without proving an option to do it later, while failing to provide any means to change it afterwards (short of a device wipe) doesn't always suit the the situation. Hopefully they'll be reviewing the forums to gather feedback that they can incorporate into future software updates.

I am so tired of iphoto crashing, losing work I've done. I want to switch to photoshop elements 10 but need to know if it uses the iphoto library or if I can import that library into elements
Using Photoshop or Photoshop Elements as Your Editor of Choice in iPhoto.
1 - select Photoshop or Photoshop Elememts as your editor of choice in iPhoto's General Preference Section's under the "Edit photo:" menu.
2 - double click on the thumbnail in iPhoto to open it in Photoshop. When you're finished editing click on the Save button. If you immediately get the JPEG Options window make your selection (Baseline standard seems to be the most compatible jpeg format) and click on the OK button. Your done.
3 - however, if you get the navigation window
that indicates that PS wants to save it as a PS formatted file. You'll need to either select JPEG from the menu and save (top image) or click on the desktop in the Navigation window (bottom image) and save it to the desktop for importing as a new photo.
This method will let iPhoto know that the photo has been editied and will update the thumbnail file to reflect the edit..
NOTE: With Photoshop Elements the Saving File preferences should be configured as shown:
I also suggest the Maximize PSD File Compatabilty be set to Always. In PSE’s General preference pane set the Color Picker to Apple as shown:
Note: to switch between iPhoto and PS or PSE as the editor of choice Control (right)-click on the thumbnail and select either Edit in iPhoto or Edit in External Editor from the contextual menu. If you use iPhoto to edit more than PSE re-select iPhoto in the iPhoto General preference pane. Then iPhoto will be the default editor and you can use the contextual menu to select PSE for your editor when desired. -
Just bought my white iphone4 and after syncing with my computer the speaker doesn't work now. I tried reset and even restore and still does not work. Do I have to exchange?
Make sure the silent switch is not set to mute. If you can see the red dot, it is on mute.
It may think you have headphones plugged in, try plugging and unplugging a wired headset a few time.
The next step would be to restore as new.
If none of that works, a warranty exchange would be the resolution. -
my new iphone 5 will not ring. have done soft reset and taken out the sim card and put it back in. very frustrating
Did you check the side control and make sure it isn't on mute. Up for ringer down for mute.

I previously use an apple id called *** @hotmail.co.uk, I have tried to reset and even changed the id on the settings on my phone but each time I try to update an apple apps , I keep getting the same old ID on my phone. What do I do?

I use to have a iTunes account with my old computer, and I have lost all my iTunes music, some purchased, some downloaded from another source. Now I'm using a brand new computer (Windows) and I have opened a NEW iTunes account, but I now I need to figure out if it is possible to recoup my music content that I originally had. I had, I believe around close to 300 songs on my account ;(......Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Now remove all your info and update the old AppleiD/iTunes account and use only that account.
You cannot transfer items between iTunes accounts.
You can redownload all the content. -

You need to copy some files and your iTunes folder to the new computer. Do you have a backup of your old computer (or still have the old computer?) Was the old computer a Mac or PC?

My iphone4's mic is not working. I can assure that my iphone4 is not on mute mode. The audio is working only when headset/handsfree plugged in.I tried reset my handset many times already but still nothing got success.what is the remedy to comeout from it.
Try plugging the headphones in and gently wiggling them around for a few seconds. It may be that the sensor that tells the iPhone that headphones are plugged in has gotten stuck. If this doesn't work, they try a reset (hold down Sleep/Wake and Home all the way until the Apple logo appears on the screen).

hello, i have updated my iphone 5 black 16 gb to ios 7.0.2 (11a501) and my battery life of my iphone has become worse it gives 9 hours of usage with out doing anything, i have done everything every tip that is available online i had 3gs and 4s so i know how to save battry life,i even tried not using my iphone as well but still no change at all!. i have upadted to ios 7.0.3 then downgraded it , i thought battery may be an issue ,so i put brand new battery still no change , so what should i do ? , update to the latest version which is ios 7.0.4 or wait for the ios 7.1 , i was using iphone 4s running on ios 6.1 it gave me 3 days of battery timing , iphone 5 seemed to be very bad for me ,help ! ?
its facory unlocked btwTry to do a reset, if it doesn't work try remove recently added apps this may solve your problem ( like google app because it has happened with me)
Take a look at apps using your location service in privacy, it can cause battery draining. -

The cable that I'm using came with my 5th gen nano. The 6th gen Ipod shows that it's connected but the computer doesn't see it, so I don't think that it's the cable.
I did try this before when looking at the troubleshooting guide and nothing happens. It just resets and then the Ipod screen tells me that it's connected to the computer. It still is unseen by Itunes and no where to be found in my computer.
I don't have another computer to plug it into at the moment but I may be able to visit a friend that owns a decent PC in a few days. If that doesn't work out I will be getting a new lap top in a week and I'm hoping that it will work on that, but it won't be a Mac. So, let's say it works when I plug it into one of these computers, should I reset my Ipod from there or is there something else I should do? -
How do you retrieve downloaded music and playlists after a complete computer crash. I can log into my Itunes account and make purchases but my music library is gone. I have an external backup on a flash drive but for some reason the music does not show up there either. It's like I have a brand new account and have to start all over. Itunes must have an archive I can access to get my music back, right?
