My IMessage will not send to one specific person. How do I fix this?

The other person has an Iphone 4s and I message is on.

Do you have problem with other iMessage recipients?
If no, then that contact needs to fix it on their end. That's nothing you can do on your end.

settings - message - imessage - is turned ON? Do you have it activated?
Make sure you have a good wifi or cellular data connection.
Also you can only imessage other apple products who have imessage on.

Texts will not send to one specific person only??

Recently I have not been able to text my daughter. We haven't changed phones or anything. She can text me and we can call each other but when I send her a text from my iPhone 4S the progress bar does not complete and the text doesn't send. She's using an android phone but she is the only person, iPhone or not that this happens to. I've tried all the quick fixes, deleting the contact and thread, restarting both phones, checking if any blocks exist,etc, and nothing has worked. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do me a favor, turn off imessage on your phone and try to text her again.
If that does not work try to text her phone number, really just type in her phone number.

If so, try resetting it. If the computer is having any other problem, take it to the Apple store to have it checked out.
Reset Password starting from Recovery HD
Start the computer,then press and hold down command and R keys to start into recovery partition.
When you see the Apple logo, release the keys.
Wait until OS X Utilities window shows up.
Move the mouse to the menubar at the top and click "Utilities", then select "Terminal"
from the drop down.
Terminal window will appear.
Type in resetpassword and press enter on the keyboard.
Leave the Terminal window open.
Reset Password Utility window will open with Macintosh HD selected.
Select the user account from the popup menu box.
Enter a new password.
Reenter the new password for the user.
Enter a hint.
Click the "Save" button.
Click  in the menubar and select Restart.
Log in.
If Keychain dialog box appears, select “Create New Keychain”.

AHA!!! I had the same problem with no answer so I started doing some research. Apparently people with McAfee and Norton were having similar problems so I started there. I opened my McAfee and went into the Web and Email Protection. Click on Firewalls; click on Program Permissions. Scroll down to find Firefox. If you're having the same problem I did, it will say blocked. Change to allow. That should solve it!! I wonder if MS paid McAfee!!?? Hope it helps!

Here's a screenshot... it attempts to pull form iCloud but fails... so then moves to the next song after a couple seconds.. other songs that are failing do same.

I reset my ipod 1st gen and all settings after it started getting finiky when trying to open apps and it wouldnt let me download apps from the store. But when I tried to connect my ipod to the computer again it would only register to my PC but not to itunes like before. I dont know how to open my ipod through itunes nor how to install itunes onto my ipod again. On my ipod it shows the connect to itunes screen. Is my ipod bricked? - New cable and different USB port
- Run this and see if the results help with determine the cause

IMessage will not send to one person...

Ok so I have the iPod 4th generation. It is up to date but heres the problem. I am unable to send an iMessage to a person. I can type it, however, once I press send, I never get the little "delivered" note.Even restarting or resetting internet connection won't help. This is only happening to one person that I regularly message. Everyone else I can message to. The person who I am trying to message has an iPhone 4 and I'm not too sure what happened because we were just talking to each other yesterday. What is wrong? Is it long distance? Is the other person's iPhone not on or doesn't have iMessage not on? My internet connections works excellently. My iMessage is on and the Wi-Fi on my iPod is fine. Everything is in good standings, but my messages to that one person will not deliver (and give me that deliver note)

I was having the exact same problem with just one contact. Did all the resets, etc. I am copy and pasting below what worked for me, it was SO frustrating. Good luck and I hope it works for you.
Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive, deselect all email addresses.
Go back one screen and turn off iMessages. Now go back a screen, and go to FaceTime, deselect all email addresses and turn off FaceTime.
Wait 5 minutes.
Turn on iMessages, ensuring no email addresses are selected, it should then have your mobile number ticked. Do the same for FaceTime.
We have no idea why this works. It just does.

I suggest you first reset netowrk settings in your phone and if that does not work, reset the phone by holding the home and the power on button together some 10 or 15 seconds until the while apple appears, then wait for the phone to reset (you will not lose any data). if all of this does not help, perhaps you should have a word with your carrier to make sure there are no issues with your texting plan.

on left side of your phone you have volume controll an right above that is a small button an if you see a orange or red dot you are in silent mode flip the switch up an it will remove silent .
