My iMessages no longer come to my iPhone only my ipad

My iMessages now only come to my iPad not my iPhone. Please can anyone help

iphone - settings - imessage - send&receive - make sure phone number and apple id is checked.  Same for start a new convo.
If you don't want it to go to your ipad, settins - imessage - off or send&receive - uncheck your phone number but keep apple id.

    - Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so.
    Try the following to rule out a software problem
    - Reset the iPad. Nothing will be lost
    Reset iPad: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
    least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
    Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
    All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a bad headphone jack.

I have tried going into my settings and making sure I'm only set up to receive iMessages to my cell number and not my email....but that didn't fix the problem.

    Here the way to do it, for both, or for only one Go into your settings, Messages and turn on iMessage. It will then send messages that are iMessages to both your iPad and iPhone. You can also turn off this feature on the iPad if you do not want to receive messages on the iPad.

    Hi all...
    I've placed this in the iPhone 4 help section as I cant find an iMessage or even just plain old iOS help section.
    Here's the thing.  I have an iPhone 4 (16GB) and an iPad 2 (WiFi only 16GB) both running iOS 5.1
    Until last week all was fantastic, then I noticed that during an app purchase via App Store, Apple asked me for extra "security data" and the app purchase went fine.
    Since then however, my iMessages have not been received by ANY of my recipients.  A couple of other iMessage users found they couldn't reach me by iMessage either. 
    I went into settings - messages - and found my iMessage was logged out.  I re-enabled it and got a message that "my Apple ID had changed" and I was logged out again!  I have checked and triple checked my Apple ID, have even reset it and checked the new one too.
    I can make app purchases from the App Store, and can use home sharing for my music and videos so I KNOW my Apple ID is right.  But for some reason every time I try to turn on iMessage it refuses my Apple ID and Password.  My iPad2 is doing exactly the same and tells me to check my email as they've sent me a "verification link" but it never comes through.  I have checked the email address and it's fine.  All of my own emails come straight through.  In fact I've just joined in here and the welcome email just came through on the same email account.
    My wife's iPhone 4 is now also doing exactly the same on her Apple ID and hers hasn't changed either.
    Has anyone else had this?  Did anyone find the solution?
    I really begrudge paying Apple £25 for a call when I'm sure the problem is their end.

    If the Apple ID is waiting for verification and you haven't received the email with the verification link, you could try going to https://appleid.apple.com/, click on Manage My Account to the right, sign in, under your primary email address click on "verify now", which should resend the verification email.  This is from Apple:
    I didn't receive a verification email (within 48 hours).
    Sign in with your Apple ID account and resend the notification. Search all of your mail folders for any emails coming from 'apple.com'.
    I didn't receive a verification email (more than 48 hours).
    You'll need to restart the registration process. You can reuse the same account information.

  • Cannot update Apps on iPhone only Mac & iPad. I have new ID on latter. Cannot figure out how to change on iPhone.

    I cannot update apps on my iPhone. It has my old Apple ID. Fine on Mac & iPad they accept my new ID (automatically). Tried syncing iPhone with Mac. Didn't  work.

    To change the Apple ID on the iPhone go to Setttings > iTunes & App Store > then tap the Apple ID at the top and sign out.

    I recently upgraded to Mavericks (10.9.3) and iMessages no longer sync between my iPhone and my Mac Pro.  I've checked the Support data base as well as Google and have followed the recommendations to check preferences on all devices and to restart all devices, but that doesn't seem to have solved the problem.  Messages being sent from my iPhone 4S simply don't show up on my Mac.  Can anyone provide assistance/ideas??

    Associate your mobile number with your Apple ID, if you haven't already done so.
    Sign out of iMessage on the Mac:
    Messages ▹ Preferences ▹ Accounts ▹ Sign out
    and on the iPhone:
    Settings ▹ Messages ▹ Send & Receive ▹ Apple ID ▹ Sign out
    Then, on the phone, tap
    Use Your Apple ID for iMessage
    Sign back into iMessage on both devices and test. If there's no change, you may have to wait for a change in network conditions.

    I have been  using iMessages with several people that have iPhones and it has been working for over a year.  but all of a sudden those numbers are no longer "registered" although they were in the past.  what could have changed?

    Maybe those users have imessage turned off or are in an area with a weak wifi or cellular data connection.

    We are users, not Apple. We cannot trace your phone, and neither can Apple.
    Please change every password you have. Posting your email addresses and Apple IDs on a public forum is insane. Hopefully a Mod will edit them out for you.

    We are suffering very similar issues when communicating from my iphone to a friend who has both iphone and iPad enabled.
    As long as I reply to an existing text chain, then it is visible on the target iphone.  If I SMS the phone number, it gets routed to the IPAD!!   And NO, I should not have to disable imessage when I want to send an SMS!!

    I had the same problem today and was able to resolve it without having to do a restore or reset. The problem had something to do with my mail accounts. The upgrade reset my mail settings, switching both my gmail and my .mac mail to "archive all mail". I went into the General Settings, disabled that setting, and resynced the phone. The "other" storage allottment dropped back down to less than a gig.
    Before you restore or reset, I would try that first.

    You would also know if the computer had stopped for an Update.
    On the Mac in the Contacts App in the Contacts Menu > Accounts is it shown to be using iCloud to Sync the info between all devices ?

    Thanks, this was the clue I needed to figure it out.
    From Settings you can pull up Control Center.
    In Control Center you can enable "Access from within Apps" (also "Access from Lockscreen")
    Now when I'm playing music, I can swipe up from the bottom and a little control center window slides up. Neat - this is new since my old iPod. On this window, the name of the current Bluetooth connection appears. Tap on that, and a list of connected Bluetooth items appears. I just tap on the one I want to connect to and I am now playing through the speakers I want.

    I suggest connecting the iPhone to the computer and iTunes and do a restore. If you are unable to do that, you may need to put the iPhone in DFU mode. Search for directions on that.

  • IMessage no longer recognises my email address

    When iOS5 came out I successfully used iMessage on both the iPhone and the iPad. The same conversation appeared on both devices as expected. After about a week it stopped working on the iPad. Yesterday I turned off the settings and then tried to turn it back on but I am getting the message that the email address can't be verified. I press the button asking for a verification email to be sent but no such email is received, although i have today received an email at that address confirming an itunes purchase. Logged in to my one and only Apple account and there is the email address with a green tick and marked verified.
    Today I checked the settings on my iPhone and when I touched the email link it started attempting to verify and I got the same problem. I then added a new email to receive iMessages on the iPhone. After receiving an email with a link to verify I was able to add that as a replacement email address on the iPhone but the iPad won't verify that one either.
    Any suggestions for how to proceed? I would like to be able to iMessage on the iPad again

    Yes it is. I did have a lot of other tunes bought with my mobile me account that I paid the extra .29 or whatever to unlock them. When I try to play the AAC tunes purchased with the old account, the message says "This computer is not authoized.....you must authorize using the account xxxx.nyc.rr.com (which has been defunkt for years).  When I enter the password it says I already authorized 5 computers (still on the old account with computers I know longer have.
    yesterday, I de authorized all computers (3 of which are no longer with us though all used me.com) and started reauthorizing the 3 I presently own using my mobile me account.
    I can't deauthorize the computers with the xxx.nyc.rr.com account because I don't have them anymore.
    Is there a way I can merge all previous email addresses with my current me.com account? Then I could deauthorize and reauthorize my current computers.
    I had several macs with my old account and 3 currently with my me.com.
    Hope this is not to wordy... I'm trying to be thorough...I know, it's a bit confusing, at least to me.
