My iMessages won't work on my new laptop

I just bought a brand new mac book pro laptop (10.9.4) and have been trying for weeks to get my iMessages to work on it.
Things I've tried:
old mac:
1. I've completely removed my icloud account on my old laptop. with a reboot.
New mac:
1. Completely removed iMessages on my new laptop with a reboot (a few times, and tried to reset everything in sync with my iPhone)
2. Signed in and out of the iCloud. removed my iCloud account and reset it up again.
3. signed in/out of my iMessages account (whilst rebooting and also tried doing that while my phone was off)
Iphone:
1. Signed off, signed on my iPhone.
2. logged out in airplane mode, then logged back on and re-added my  iMessage account on my iPhone.
I'm completely out of ideas, I need to access my iMessages on my computer, PLEASE PLEASE HELP. I can't find any new suggestions, and am open to anything.

Hi,
Currently there are two causes why the Messages app will not launch  (on first run it should open to the iMessages account requesting an Apple ID)
The App requires that the Font AppleGothic.ttf is present and functioning.
Use the Font Book to check it and Validate it (it is towards the bottom of the list and Validate is in the File menu).
The second reason is that sometimes the Serial Number is missing.
This should be "flashed" to a memory chip on the logic/Mother board.
In some cases or Repair or Refurbishment it gets missed.
You can check by using the About this Mac from the Apple Menu in the Menu bar, then clicking twice on the line that tell you the current OS level.
It will change to the Build number and then the Serial Number if it is present.

  • My iMessaging won't work on my new iPhone due to "network connection". Why can't I sign in?

I try to log into it and it says: "iMessage Activation- Could not sign in. Please Check your network connection and try again." I'm connecting to my houses Wi-Fi and can make calls and regular texts. How can I fix this?

    HI Friend,
Try to unsign and sign in again.
For iMessage chosse to use your Apple ID instead of your mobile number.
Go to Settings>>Message>>Send&Receive and check if your Apple ID was set or not. If not, set it properly.
If it is still not working, unsign your Apple ID and select your mobile number ("+" "country code" "mobile number").
Also check in: Settings>>Message if you turned on iMessage before. Here, turn off "Show Subject Field".
Did you turn on iCloud as well?
    Hope it will be helpful

  • IMessage is not working for my new number it will let me use the number the phone was originally set to and my email address but since I updated to iOS 7 it won't let me select my new number; it is just in grey

I just updated to iOS 7 and now my iMessages won't work. It just keeps saying activating iMessage but it's not doing anything; I tried signing in with my Apple ID but then it just lets me send them using my email address and the number the phone was originally set to; even though that is not my actual number that I use as I changed it through Vodafone so the SIM card now has a different number.
    It won't even let me click on my number to select it; it is just that faded grey colour and there are no ticks by it;
And when it says "may be a standard SMS charge to activate" I'm not even getting a text through to be able to activate it anyway
    How can I fix this?

  • IMessage won't work and no notifications at all for any messages please help

iMessage won't work I know there is a problem but now I'm not getting any text notifications please help! Won't even vibrate

If you are having trouble with SMS messages, then you would need to address that with your carrier, unless you are receiving them and just not get a notification. If you have followed the steps I gave you for iMessage and you are not receiving notifications, then check the settings for Notification Center. If you have Messages set to show on the lock screen and play a sound, and display a banner, etc. then your next step is a restore. First restore from a backup, and if that doesn't work, then restore as a new device. Restoring the phone will result in the loss of all data. Make sure you have backed up the phone, synced all content and imported photos to the computer.

  • IMessage won't work with 1 contact. (iOS7)

    iPhone 4s with iOS7
iMessage won't work with only 1 specific contact.
Prior to updating i was able to iMessage with the contact in question without issue.
Both of us updated to iOS7 yesterday, since then messages between us are Text Messages only. We screwed around with everything. We discovered if i send to his email address (checkmarked with iMessage) it works. ALSO...after searching and trying different things, he can send me iMessages from his number, but when i respond it switches SMSs . FaceTime also works.
It works with all my other contacts without issues.
    We both tried the following.
    - deleting eahcother as contacts,
    - resets (many)
    - turned off iMessage (reset network settings)
    - logging in and out of appleID in several locations
    - removed checkmarks from emails/phone number
    - on WiFi, on 3G
    - phone restore
Start new conversation: only my phone # is checkmarked. receinve, I have 3 emails and phone number
    any ideas?

  • Imessage won't work/activate after 5.1

I updated to 5.1 this morning, and now my imessage won't work. I try to turn it on, and I just get an activation error. "An error occurred during activation, try again".I've read in some other posts that my phone number should show by the imessage option? I don't see it anywhere. Once I get the activation error, then it provides me with the option to sign in using my appleID, but it when I do, it just keeps on reverting back to the sign in screen and won't connect. I've read through this forum and tried everything that I found - checked the date/time settings, checked my phone number, reset the networks, hard reset - and still it won't activate. What do I do?

Mine didn't work for 2 months and this fixed it, so I posted it in another discussion and have been getting "thank you" replies nearly daily:
    Just update your date/time settings:
    Settings
    > General
    >> Date & Time
    >>> Set Automatically:  Slide "ON"...If it's already on, then slide it off, chill for a bit (maybe restart it), then slide it back on.
I am using an iPhone 4 with iOS 5.1, but other users with 3GS, 4S, and even iTouch devices replied that it worked.

Moving this discussion to the Downloading, Installing, Setting Up forum.
Stephylei you will want to download the Mac versions of the installation files.  If you purchased the software from Adobe, and choose the download option at the time of purchase, then the download will be available under your account.  You can find more details at Find a download link on Adobe.com.
