My iMovie disappeared under the dock

I last opened iMovie a while ago and when I wasn't using it, i drag it below the dock where it is not visible; somehow, it stayed there and now I cannot get it to be displayed back on the desktop. HELP!

Open iMovie, either under the dock or by clicking it in the Applications Folder.
Once you have done this, you will notice that iMovie is in the dock while it is running. Right-click on the icon in the dock, and select options/Keep In Dock. This will keep it in the dock even when it is not running.

  • My imovie opens in the dock, but then disappears off the screen - top right hand side, What's happening?

    Hi
iMovie opens in the dock, but then seems to disappear off to the top right hand side of the screen and I can't find a way of recovering it?   Suggestions please

    Hi
If You press cmd+tab keys (cmd = the one with a cringle) (tab = left side keyboard third row big arrow pointing to the right)
By keeping cmd-key down and stepping with tab-key You can see if the iMovie symbol show up. then release.
    Did it come back ?

  • Iphoto and imovie was on the dock but they disappeared!i can't find them in finder or hd,what happened to them?

iphoto and imovie were on the dock with the rest of them, can't find them on the hd or finder!

    Hi Darwin,
Is it possible you simply dragged them up off the Dock?
In Finder's Menu, select Go menu>Go to Folder, and go to..
    /Applications/
If either show up there, then drag them to the Dock again, if not report back.

  • How to stop application folder form disappearing from the dock

I'm on MAC OS 10.6.7 on my Macbook 7.1.  My applications folder disappeared from the dock.  I can drag a new copy from the Mac Hard Disk folder to the dock (to the right of the dashed line (my dock is at the bottom) and it appears with an Address book icon.  After 10 to 15 seconds, the icon disappears.
Anyone know what is going on and how to fix this?

Not sure why this is happening, but try this. This is the way I've done it. First, make an alias of the folder (File>make alias) and put it somwhere, like Documents. Then, copy drag it (Option-click) to the part of the dock below or to the side of the separator near the Trash icon. This will place an alias of the folder in the Dock. You must keep the first alias you made.
You can also make one just for Utilities, the same way. The app folder will appear with an A and the Utilties folder will appear with an X.
EDIT: It's been a while now, but I think I got rid of the default app folder because I didn't like the way it looked and functioned.
You can also see I put an alias of my home folder there, as well.
Might as well mention another customisation. Get Tinkertool (free) Go to Dock>Disable Dock Expose to get rid of the very annoying -- at least to me -- entire screen turning black when opening one of the Dock icon's options.

  • Where is my downloads folder it disappeared from the dock?

where is my downloads folder it disappeared from the dock?

The icons in your Dock are "aliases" or copies of the original so it's easier to open them.
To find your original Downloads folder, simply click on the Smiley Face Icon in the Dock near the begining, it opens a Finder Window.
On the left, click on your "username" icon, on the right a list of folders and one will be "Downloads"
Now click and drag this folder to the Dock next to the Trash Can (only) and it will make a new "alias" there.

  • A window is unredimmontiable cause it's under the dock

a window is unredimmontiable cause it's under the dock, what should i do?

Do you mean you can't resize it?
    Try hiding the dock; ⌥⌘D
Approach the area carefully with the mouse pointer though, or the dock will appear as the pointer approaches the bottom of the screen.

  • IMovie disappeared off my dock

My daughter and I are new to Mac computers.  She was using iMovie for a few days now and now she tells me she can't find the app on her computer.  I am assuming she means on the dock.  She did not do anything differently that would have made it disappear.  She said the only way to find it is to do a search, and then find it that way.  However, when she does this, she is unable to open up the videos that she made.  Can anyone help with this?  Thanks!!

If you drag the icon off the dock, it will disappear in a puff of smoke. This just removes it from the dock.
If it is still installed on your computer, you could find it using the Finder. Navigate to the Applications folder. Click on it to launch.
Another way to find it is to click on the magnifying glass at the top right of your screen. This is called a Spotlight Search. Type in iMovie, and if it is still on your computer, you can start it from there. Once it is running, there should be a temporary icon in the dock, that will stay as long as iMovie is running. You can right-click on this icon and select Keep In Dock, and it will stay there permanently.
If for some reason, the App is no longer in the Applications folder, you can still get it back if you are running Time Machine. There are other ways to get it back as well, but let's stop there for now.

  • TS3868 iMovie icon in the dock is missing

I have "lost" iMovie.  When I try to connect, it says that it "damaged" or "incomplete.  I have done nothing with iMovie for weeks, yet now it is unavailable.

    Hi
Open Hard Disk (Main Start-Up one) and
    open Application folder.
    Find iMovie icon.
drag this down to the Dock - where You want it and release. Now it will be a new Alias here.

  • Launchpad has disappeared from the Dock. Launchpad is present in Applications but refuses to activate. How to activate and make available in Dock? iMac 21.5 mid 2010. os X v10.7.2.

Launchpad had disappeared from Dock. Launchpad is present in Applications but refuses to activate. How to activate and make available in Dock?
    iMac 21.5 mid 2010. os x v10.7.2.

You should be able to put Launchpad back in the Dock by dragging it from the Applications folder to the left section of the Dock.  As to why it won't launch, run the Console utility, try to run Launchpad, and see if any messages appear in the Console window.

  • Dock icons disappeared after the Dock app killed via terminal

Hello, I'm running the new OS X Mavericks on a late 09' Mac Mini, my problem started when I had finished updating Grageband.
When the update was over, from some reason the Grageband icon became invisible, so i tried using the "killall Dock" commend via terminal to restart the dock.
And it took considerably longer then usual, and when it came back up, most of the icons became invisible too,  well, as I'm pretty sure it's a one time bug and it will be resolved when I'll restart the machine I'll relog to my user, is that happened to anyone else? and is there anything I can do to prevent this problem in the future?
    Thank you in advance. Omer.

I just did a clean install on my 2011 MM and am having the same issue. Whats the terminal kill for the dock?
Ive added a screen shot. Can't drag and drop the trash can....:-/
Looked up the cmd and now I have a properly working dock. Didnt have to drag any apps out either

  • HT201250 i was trying to manually erase files from my macbook air. at one point, my system preferences disappeared from the dock and i had a pop up message telling me the application was 'incomplete'. I tried to reinstall iLife but i wont work.

I used the small key that comes with the air but it doesn't seem to be doing much. Am i supposed to be reinstalling OS X or iLife? I tried OS X and I didn't see much difference except for the return of my system preferences and safari which had initially disappeared, but I'm still missing the App Store and iPhoto. I can't reinstall iLife either.

Try a few things: 1) restart in safe mode (restart holding the shift key) and this will repair the drive (if need be) and trim/delete cache files. Restart normally.
    2) if you use iPhoto or Aperture launch the program and then empty the trash folder of the program(s).  Launch your Mail program and check out how much is in the Trash and Archive folders. You can delete the really old stuff if there is any.
    3) Download omniDiskSweeper (free) to see what's on your drive. Be careful about deleting anything that isn't in your personal drive space and be very careful about deleting anything in the Library folder.

    Hi,
Not sure what your issue is, but try this...
Quit iMovie... Remove the iMovie Icon from the Dock...
( You do this by Holding Down Command and dragging the Icon from the Dock...)
Go to your Applications Folder and Drag iMovie back to the Dock.
    Try it Now...
Also it is never a good idea to post your email address on a public forum. I will ask the Hosts to remove it for you...
    Cheers.
