My Incredible thinks it's in Buenos Aires! I'm in Mpls!

My Android Incredible (HTC) thinks it's in Buenos Aires! I'm in Mpls! My phone woke me up 2 hours early this morning because of the time difference! This is the 3rd time it has thought it was in Buenos Aires in the past month and it screws up my Google Calendar.  AND I can't change my current city. Even turning it off and back on doesn't work. It eventually goes back to Mpls but I can't rely on my phone to wake me up or get me to meetings like this! Has this happened to anyone else?

Try to manually set your time zone, date, and time. Follow the steps below to set your device time zone and current city up properly.
Setting your home city
Press HOME and then tap the HTC Clock widget on the Home screen.
Tap the World Clock tab
Press MENU and then tap Home settings
Enter your home city’s name. As you enter letters, the list is filtered to show matching cities and countries.
Scroll through the list and tap your home city.
Setting the time zone, date, and time

Clear the Automatic check box.
Tap Select time zone. Scroll through the list and then tap the time zone that you want.

To change the time, tap Set time. Adjust the time by rolling the hour and minute scroll wheels onscreen and then tap OK.
Tap the Use 24-hour format check box to toggle between using a 12-hour or a 24-hour time format.

  • Having fun sync'ing calendar between iPAD and iPhone; both time zones are set to Lond, UK, but events in calendars seem to move to Buenos Aires times?  It is fun, I think, but how do I sync them both to London times? help!

Having "fun" attempting to sync iPAD and iPhone calendars; both appear to be set to London, UK time zones, but after entering a meeting on e.g. iPAD, it appears in Buenos Aires time in iPhone?  I have been to Buenos Aires...  both bits of kit were purchased and set up in the UK.  Help?

  • Lenovo support in Buenos Aires

    Hi,
I need to take my tablet S2019 A-F for reparison somewhere in Buenos Aires. Where?

You are absolutely right. Unhelpful operating hours. Their repair service outsource to 3rd party which seems to separate into consumer and business users. Drop-off points limited. Product such as Miix 2 8 totally unreliable - touch screen totally stop working. Search Miix 2 touch screen issue in Google and you find lots of incidents.
But seriously, in today's world, 'on-site' repair is already non-existence. Many computer vendors no longer has this.
People always think buying computer from Acer is bad. At least their service center project better professional image - compared to some run-down shops.

  • I am thinking of buying a MacBook Air and am wondering how to get the content of my iPad into iTunes.

I have iTunes on an old pc and am thinking of buying a MacBook Air. I am wondering how to get the content of my iPad on to the Mac as I know that sync only happens in one direction, from pc to device. I assume therefore that when I attach my pad to the new Mac it will sync to an empty iTunes and I will have lost all the content of my pad. I know I can restore purchases, but what about contacts, calendar, photos and music not purchased from apple. I have a fairly recent backup on a pen drive but it is a usb2 device and is formatted for a pc. Any advice would be appreciated.

Do I copy my media library or from a backup.  I have a backup on my pc and on an external drive. This drive is usb2 and formatted for windows so I can't connect it to a MacBook Air to make the transfer.  Equally I don't think there is a way to connect the 2 computers via a cable ie usb2 one end and usb3 the other.  Will the computers talk to each other via wifi if I enable home share although I think this is only for music which still leaves contacts, mail etc.
I am sorry to be such an ignoramus but any further help would be appreciated.

  • Hey. i'm about to travel to thiland and i'm thinking to buy there Macbook air\pro. how can i tell if it's fake?

hey. i'm about to travel to thiland and i'm thinking to buy there Macbook air\pro. how can i tell if it's fake?
    thnks

If possible, I'd make sure to register it on Apple's online system at first start IN THE STORE, and verify it is a kosher serial number before walking out. That way you'll be sure to be covered by the warranty. If the machine is fake, Apple's system won't accept the serial number. If it is stolen and already registered to someone else, it won't accept the repeat registration.

  • IPhone will not let me add Buenos Aires, Argentina for weather

I have tried everything to load in Buenos Aires, Argentina into my iPhone under weather. Apple does not have a clue why it won't accept it and a friend of mine in Houston (I live in Phoenix) says it won't take it on her phone either!
Anyone have any ideas, apple didn't.
    Dell PC   Windows XP   iPhone

It found Baghdad; London; Paris; Singapore; Washington, DC; Chicago, San Francisco, etc., etc., etc.
But it could not find Buenos Aires. Argentina.
It even found Buenos Aires, Peru, and Buenos Aires, Brazil but not Argentina.

  • Blackberry 8830 WE not compatable in Buenos Aires?!?!?!?!?!?

I have recently contacted my carrier, Sprint, because I will be traveling for the first time Internationally with my 8830 WE and was told that I will be unable to use my "World Edition" phone in Argentina.  They said this phone is not compatable.  How can this be?  I thought this was the go everywhere do everything phone?  They said I have to go buy or rent a different phone for the trip.  Has anyone else had this experience?  If so, is there any work around with this?  I am going to Argentina in 2 weeks and will need to have my phone!  Please help!!!!

I checked Verizon's web site, and there's no data service available for their 8830 in Buenos Aires either.
The Sprint site says that only a few phones will work there for both voice and data, but the 8830 isn't listed there although they do list it as being able to roam globally.  Here's the link.
At the company I work for where we have over 4,500 BlackBerries in the field, we initially offered the Verizon 8830, but we had so many problems with it outside of the US, that we removed it from our list of supported devices.
If you're traveling outside the US regularly, AT&T or t-Mobile are your best US carriers for International service.

  • My visit to Buenos Aires

I am due to visit Buenos Aires on 6th December, I will have already installed Leopard 10.5 by then.
Will I have any difficulty in getting wireless connection via my son's Router on arrival.
I will be able to take my Airport Extreme Base station which I use at present. This works satisfactorily in the UK, Swansea, Wales. Could someone answer giving details. I am 73 years old but not quite lost it yet!

*"Will I have any difficulty in getting wireless connection via my son's Router on arrival."*
    Probably not.

  • Buenos Aires Summer Time Canceled

Hi, I'm from Buenos Aires Argentina. Today we supposed to enter in the Summer time but last friday the Government canceled this year summer time so we don't have to change our clocks. My iPhone sync the clock with Apple (my Mac too) and now the clock is one hour ahead and the time zone es GMT -2, this has to be GMT -3.
    Any ideas?

    Make sure Apple knows: http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html
You'll have to wait for an update for a permanent fix (also on any computer you have).
In the meantime you could set your time manually and pick a time zone that matches the actual time setting in your location.

  • Buenos Aires

Can anyone tell me if my 8700g will work in Buenos Aires?  It works well in Italy and France, but wish to know about Argentina.
    Randy

No, your device is GSM 900/1800 only, and today in Argentina there are not any carrier with this band.
You can check this link, is the world roaming coverage

If I help you with any inquire, thank you for click kudos in my post.
If your issue has been solved, please mark the post was solved.

  • Macbook in Buenos Aires

I am going to Buenos Aires with my Mac Book 05/12/07. Should I envisage any difficulty logging on to the internet via my son's router whilst I am there. I can also take Airport Extreme if necessary. I am 73 years old not quite lost it yet. But details of 'how to' would be invaluable.

Here's and excellent world guide to power and plug adapters needed for different countries.
Your power adapter will convert automatically from 110-120 Volt/60 cycle to 220-240 Volt/50 cycle AC. You will still be able to use the USB and FW ports normally.

  • I am new to Mac.  I am thinking of getting a MacBook Air.  My most pressing need is to work with photography programs so screen size, resolution, software capability are important to me.   Is a 15 inch screen coming out this spring?

I am new to Mac.  I am considering getting and airbook.  My most pressing need is to use for photography, so software program capability, display, resolution, are all important. Is an Airbook the best choice and is there a 15 inch screen coming out in the spring as I had heard rumor of?

You might enjoy this review, which specifically compares it to the MacBook Pro:
    http://www.macstories.net/reviews/13-inch-macbook-air-review/
Since you will be working with photography, performance and display resolution will be equally important.
As for future models, no one knows. We find out the moment they become available for purchase, and not one moment before. That is also the same moment speculation on the next model begins. In any event we can't engage in that here; it's contrary to the terms of use.
