My InDesign cs2 doesn't cut words in spanish

Please, if somebody could tell me how can i do for my InDesign cs2 to cut words with hiphons. It doesn't cut the words in spanish and i don't know what to do!! Thanks anyone

The paragraph styles are all right, the hyphenation is activated, that's why i dont understand what happens

Interactivity in InDesign (CS2) doesn't function when exported as pdf to Acrobat

I am adding 'buttons' / hyperlinks in a CS2 InDesign document to go to another page of the same document. When I save the document as pdf and I open the document (in Acrobat) the buttons are recognized as buttons/hyperlinks because the pointer turns into a pointing finger, but nothing happens.

May be too obvious but have you checked your export settings? Try sending as Acrobat 7 or something other than the acrobat level you sent at previously.
I wonder if links don't work because you moved page. What happens if you reapply your hyperlinks at the new page location and then exporting again?

How to place a word document in a TextFrame with InDesign CS2 scripting (JavaScript)?

I´m newbie with InDesign CS2 Scripting (JavaScript). I need some help to understand the way to place a Word document in an indesign template, using JavaScript(.jsx).

Importing single Excel columns into InDesign CS2 Tables?

Hi, I have an Indesign CS2 doc with existing tables. I need to import data from Excel...but I just want to import certain columns. It doesn't seem to cut and paste, as it would into a tabbed format in Indesign. Is there a way to do this? I don't want to import the whole table from Excel and go through all the formatting again.

InDesign CS3 supports what you want. In CS2, you can use
my PopTab shareware script. The name stands for "Populate Table From the Clipboard."

Error message reads, " Wizard Interuppted before InDesign CS2 was comletely installed" when removing

Adobe Tech Support no longer supports CS2 since the release of CS4 and has referred me to knowledgebase and the forum for help.
This is my original problem:
When you try to start Adobe InDesign CS2, or Adobe InCopy CS2, the application returns one of the following error messages:
-- "Could not personalize your copy of [application] because of missing or invalid personalization information."
-- "Please personalize your copy of [application] to continue the setup process."
-- "The serial number you provided is not valid. Please check your serial number and re-enter it"

The instructions for all methods require that I remove InDesign, but I get an error message that says "Wizard Interuppted before InDesign CS2 was completely installed" when removing.

Step one is to back up your computer in case anything goes wrong.
Once you've done that, look at http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=331300 which lists all the folder locations for the creative suite along with the registry keys. It says you should uninstall using ad/remove, but if this doesn't work it should be OK to remove things manually and edit the registry, then run the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility.
At that point you should reboot and you should be able to try installing again.

Can't open Pagemaker files in InDesign Cs2

In the past i could usually open any Pagemaker 6 or 6.5 file in InDesign CS2. However this doesn't work anymore. I get a message o the screen telling me the file is corrupt and can't be opened. ( i can't really post the original message i get as it is in german).
This happens for any Pagemaker 6 or 6.5 file i have in my repository (and there are still many left so i had tried several ones from different dates and PM Versions)
As a first aid I tried to reinstall InDesign CS2 from the original discs. I uninstalledit before and did a restart of the Machine before i reinstalled it.
I use a Windows XP baesed system.
Does anyone have any idea on what i could try to get that back to work?

I know there are issues with Leopard and Acrobat, I'm just trying to see if my problem falls into that category or if it is something else.
I am running Leopard 10.5.1 on a MacBook Pro with CS2. In general, I am able to print with my PDF printer and get good results from several programs but NOT from InDesign (CS2, 4.0.5). I've got a two page document with lots of small text and graphics, which used to print just beautiful as a PDF (for my students to download from a course website). Now, however, the fonts in the PDF have terrible resolution and look awful! But, I can still generate beautiful PDFs with terrific looking fonts from Mellel (a word processing program I use for Hebrew). This is using the same settings in Distiller and in my Adobe PDF printer.
Any suggestions?

Printing graphics from InDesign CS2 to an HP 4000 PS Laserjet

My HP 4000 Laserjet will not print InDesign CS2 documents that have pictures, other graphics, or objects created in InDesign with either a drop shadow or feathered.
I have an HP Laserjet 4000 which I previously used with Pagemaker 6.5. I could set the screen lpi and angle values for exactly as it needed to be using the Acrobat Distiller PPD and print documents (with pictures and graphics) to the post script printer with no problem. Now I am using Adobe InDesign CS2 and I don't seem to have same the printing options and control that I had with Pagemaker. But mainly, in Pagemaker, when I printed a document I could select the HP 4000 PS printer in the Print Document box and it listed Acrobat Distiller in the PPD box which is what I used.
Now with InDesign CS2, when I select the HP 4000 PS printer it only shows the HP 4000 PS series ppd (and this may be correct). Although I can still set the values for screening (lpi) and screen angles and screened objects that are created in InDesign will print to whatever screen values I selected, the document will not print when pictures and other graphics are placed into the document or if an object created in InDesign has a drop shadow or is feathered. When I remove the graphics and drop shadow, it will print, however, another problem is that it will not print certain fonts properly (leaving out certain letters in certain words - for instance the "l" in "floor".)
Is this a compatibility issue between this older Laserjet and InDesign -- is there another driver that I need -- or am I overlooking something that's obvious? I'd appreciate someone's help who may know what the problem is so I won't be doing the trial and error thing.

Thanks everyone for their input. As far as the memory shortage, I'm pretty sure that's not the problem. I can create a document in Pagemaker of only 200KB that prints fine and the convert the same document to ID and it fails to print.
I think Dov is right about the 4000 because I remember when the printer was new, there were some incompatibility issues with Pagemaker that I had to work around. The Adobe people told me back then that Pagemaker and HP postscript printers didn't get along very well.
I'll check with HP again (I've already written to them twice with no response) and see if the firmware upgrade Dov mentioned is still available, however, even though this 4000 has been very durable and a real workhorse for me, it may be time to put it out to pasture and invest in a new Postscript laserjet.
Any recommendations?

InDesign CS2 - don't want to ignore Whitespace elements

Hi,
I am working of InDesign CS2 on XP-SP2, while doing manual XML import i can successfully uncheck "Do not import contents of whitespace-only elements" but i can't do the same using script....
I am using following chunk of script in CS2 which doesn't work with ESTK2.
mydoc.xmlImportPreferences.ignoreWhitespace = false;
I noticed this works well with CS3 plugins in CS2. I need to resolve this with CS2 only. Let me know if you have any clue.

Under Document Offset, specify the number of lines that are to be ignored at the beginning of the document.
This enables you to skip comment lines or column names during processing. If you do not make an entry, the default value is zero lines.

Scripting applications preferences in Indesign CS2

Hey folks, I'm attempting to set the cmsSettings preferences (current color management system) in Adobe InDesign CS2 using javascript but my code is not working. The script goes something like this:

This errors - ID says that it doesn't recognize the object called ColorSetting. Any assistance is appreciated.

Check your documentation. The class name is ColorSettings; the property (name of the 'variable' inside a class) can have any name, such as "app.bob", "app.jack", or "app.colorSettings". It's sort of convention that these are written with lowercase, to let humans distinguish them easily from class names (which are, obviously, written using initial uppercase).

Greek character rendering problem in InDesign CS2

Hi Experts,
I'm using InDesign CS2 for journal publication.
I have experienced a strange problem in Greek character rendering. We have used "Math_PI" font for greek characters and it display correctly in the story mode and not in the page mode in some places (in page mode it shows alphabet character instead of Greek). This problem identified in the particular place and not for entire article.
Please find the below screen shot for your quick reference. The highlighted character "f" should be greek "gamma" which rendered correctly in story mode but not in page view.

Are you sure the Character panel isn't hidden behind another panel (Window>Type&Tables>Character)? When you choose Type>Size>Other a dialog doesn't open, the size field in the Character panel gets selected:

Ah -- you are placing the PDF, right? Use the Word file instead. A PDF file is not a text file, so you get it as an image.
