My info - email (NOT about not receiving subscription emails)

For some time now (a year or two) I haven't been able to change my email address for my account. Whenever I log in to My info and select "Email" I get this error:
"We're sorry, but the system has encountered an unknown error, and you have been logged out. To continue using My Info, please log in again. Thank you for your understanding."
Does this happen to anyone else?? Any suggestions on what to do??

Is this My Info, the site, that you are navigating to?
Have you deleted the browser Cache, and removed all of the Apple Cookies, and then tried again?

    Someone made a purchase from my Apple ID to a device that was not mine – I received an email stating that this occurred, yet the only solution that Apple gave me was to change my password. When I look at my account, I can see the $20.00 purchase of music volumes that I did not purchase myself and was not uploaded to any of my devices; however, I cannot find a solution to getting my money back or to file a complaint against the unknown person that did this. Additionally, how do we prevent something like this from happening again, especially when I have an iPhone? What can I do in this situation?

    Thank you for the suggestion. I did change the password; however, I generally will purchase gift cards to link to the account so that if something like this ever happened it would not be taken out of a credit card or bank account.

  • Not receiving subscription email alerts

    Why am I not being alerted by email when my subscribed threads receive replies? My email address is correct, I have set the radio buttons marked "Always subscribe to all topics I create" and "Always subscribe to topics I reply to" and selected "Immediately (default)" from the dropdown box marked "Send subscription emails". Yet I never receive any alerts. :?

    For the past 4 hours Discussions has been down. If the replies arrived just before or after, there may be a lag as the servers catch up.

    What version of Mac OS X are you using?
    What email application are you using?
    You have to configure both for sending & receiving email.  Look at the receive configuration.

    I forwarded an email to my husband but the email went to about 15 people who were not supposed to receive it. These people are in my address book but not on a list to receive emails and it appears that the service picked them randomly. Not good!!

    You've checked the spam folder as well as the inbox on the primary email account that you put on the account ? If it's not in either folder then you should be able to re-request the email by logging into your account via the 'manage your apple id' button on http://appleid.apple.com

    You've checked the spam folder on your email account as well as the inbox, and have you got a rescue email address on your account that it might be being sent to ? If it's not in spam either then you could try contacting Support in your country and see if they can reset your password for you : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5699

    You need special software for your newsletters. Check out the options below.
    They should send to each recipient one by one so you don't have to Bcc.

  • Outlook not sending or receiving any emails

    I start my outlook and everything seems to be working fine for some time. Then all of a sudden the Outlook icon in the notification area shows a loading symbol and a message saying "Requesting data from the server". When I check for the
    send/receive progress it seems to be still with no errors. Also the synchronisation status at the bottom of the Outlook windows reads "All folders up to date, Connected to Microsoft Exchange"
    When this situation occurs, new emails are neither received nor sent; unless I restart the outlook application. I currently have 4 email accounts setup in the Outlook (2 Microsoft Exchange accounts and 2 Gmail accounts). I see this issue with only
    the exchange email accounts. 
    I have been facing this issue for almost a month now and also I am not able to find the exact issue in any of the forums. Can someone please help me with this issue!!

    If the 4 email accounts use one profile, I suggest creating them in separate for testing.

    iCloud mail not working on my iMac, iPhone or my iPad. same for my wife who has her own account.

    Mike, for days I've meant to send thanks your way for the reply.  I hadn't thought more about the potential that I'd been hacked -- until today. I auth'd "Find Friends" at wordpress.com to look at my Google contacts and up popped two addresses that look completely unfamiliar.  In the past six months I've been informed by Amazon.com and American Express that "your customer data may have been vulnerable to a malicious attack."
    For years, as a Mac user, I've been pretty unconcerned about malware and security.  As more and more of our data moves off Macs and onto Linux and Windows and whatever in the cloud I guess data security is something I've got to take more seriously.  And Apple is so mainstream now... perhaps more hackers are targeting Mac OS and iOS than in the old Microsoft-on-top days.

    It sounds like you are not recieving emails from specific sources but others are working without issue. From what you describe it seems like these addresses may be incorrectly filtered as Spam by iCloud. The info in the following article should help you identify if that is the case:
    iCloud: Manage junk mail
    If that is not the case, then there may be a mail rule setup that is removing these emails from your main inbox. Here is some more info on mail rules and how to check this out:

    If you are using Apple Mail, it does not support read receipts. Even if it did, most people will ignore such requests, so at best, it'd be a hit and miss situation.
