My installation loses connection and cancels?

Hi
When trying to install adobe reader the installation is 'losing connection' and cancelling.
Why is this?
It has installed mcafee and google chrome for me so there is nothing wrong with the ability of the computer to install those.

Use the offline installer from http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/ (which does not contain any 3rd-party bundled software).

Airport express loses connection and blinks amber until restarted many times a day.

I have an AirPort Extreme as my,main router with a gen 1 airport express and 2 gen 2 express as range extenders to cover all 3 floors and outdoor area. I have an Insteon HUB connected to one 2nd generation express and an Insteon IP camera that is on the far edge of the WiFi coverage area. About 3-5 times daily, the express will blink amber and lose connection. I need to either restart the network from airport utility or just unplug and restart the specific express. This fixes the problem but only temporarily. Why does this occur? Is it due to the wireless camera losing connection? It seems to occur when I try to access the camera or devices thru the Insteon App. I have purchased the additional express thinking it was a poor connection to the other range extender but this has made no difference. I have been on tech support with Insteon for many hours,and they are unable to help. Any suggestions?

Every few minutes, it seems to temporarily lose its connection to the internet and start flashing amber until it reconnects. It's extremely annoying. Does anyone know why this is happening? Is it an airport problem, or a cable modem problem?
It could be either or neither ...
It is very possible that you may have some form of Wi-Fi interference in the immediate area that is preventing you from getting a good clean signal, and what I would check for first.
I suggest you perform a simple site survey, using utilities like the following to determine potential areas of interference, and then, try to either eliminate or significantly reduce them where possible:
o MacStumbler, or
o iStumbler

AirPort in Intel iMac loses connection and does not see network

I bought an Intel iMac in the summer of '06. I had no problems connecting my airport card to my house wireless network which uses an AirPort Extreme Base Station.
In september I brought my iMac to college and used an AirPort Express as my base station. I had no problems other than that the computer did not automatically reconnect to the network upon start up.
In december I returned home and configured the AirPort Express (located on the main level of the house) to extend the network of the AirPort Extreme (located upstair in the bedroom next to my iMac).
Lately the iMac loses connectivity to the wireless network randomly while the computer is on, even in the middle of using it. Not only does it lose the signal but does not list my network when i click the airport signal icon on the top bar of the screen. Once in a while it will have it listed but will give me an error when trying to connect. The only way I have of fixing the problem is to restart the computer.
I know the airport base station works fine and the network is still there becasue I have a PowerBook G4 that I will put right next to the iMac and the PowerBook will still be connected to the network.
Can someone help?

I have a very similar problem. My machine's airport connection has always been a little flaky, but it's always gone on working. However, yesterday I turned on WEP 128 bit encription. It now connects for a few minutes and then I see the signal strength gradually die until it goes off completely. There are then two ways to get it back working: 1. close the lid, then open it again; 2. tun off the airport, then turn it on again. When I do that the signal strength suddenly comes on full after about 3 seconds. The G4 iMac I have doesn't suffer from this problem. I am using a netgear access port as the base station.

WRT54GL loses connection and won't work without a reset

I bought a WRT54GL 2 years ago, and for the first year or so it worked perfectly. About 6 months ago it started losing connection every few weeks; while my inner network looks fine (can ping all machines on 192.168.1.x) the router loses connnection to the outer world.
Setup:
Cable modem connected to the router
PC connected with a wire to the router
Mac, Wii, PS3, 2 iphones, HP 6500 printer - all connected wirelessly
I know it is not the modem because if I disconnect my pc from the router and connect it to the modem I can connect to the internet.
I tried restarting everything (ie unplug my modem, router and pc from the power socket, then gradually turn them on) and my router failed to connect to the outer world (that is no device connected to the router can access the web).
I tried reseting my router (pressing that little hole in the back with a pin) and then loaded the router with a saved configuration, and it didn't work!
The ONLY thing that works is unplugging everything, reseting the router, and then configuring it *manually* from scratch.
This is extremly annoying as it will happen now every week or two.
Help me please.

Thanks, I updated to the latest firmware last night, let's see if that fixes it.
The thing that bugs me is it worked perfectly for over a year, then after the first power out, kaboom.
At first I thought the power out damaged the router's hardware, but if that was the case it would no go back to work for 3-4 weeks after a hard reset ...

HP Laserjet 100 MFP 175nw, Printer loses connection and have to reboot to print

This is super annoying.
Had this printer for a few months and it worked great. Changed my wireless password a couple weeks ago and now the dang thing has to be rebooted almost everytime it needs to print.
Today I did a fresh install on my iMac for it and after a couple hours it went right back to being unavailable. Help... before I smash it!
To note: I downloaded the driver install pkg fresh today from HPs site and used that for installation so the firmware can't be out of date.

So you changed the password on your router and when you need to print you have to reboot the router. What is the status of the printer when this occurs? Does the printer have a valid IP address at the time? Does the router see the printers IP address?

Logic pro x basic download gets about 3/4 through, asks for password and then says it loses connection and asks to download again.

I have been having terrible trouble with logic pro x basic content download. I open up the app in which it says it's downloading the extra content. I think it must be the basic content however because it takes no time at all. It gets 3/4's through and says installing. It then asks for my password and once entered says it needs an internet connection to download and to please try again.
I have literally tried everything from making sure my preferences are correct, using an Ethernet, cable.I have used almost every post regarding this on here and still can't even get the basic 2g package to install. If I could get that I believe I could load the extra content manually. I can't even get the basic package to work to do this however.
Has anybody had the problem with the basic download??? If anyone has a solution to this pleeeeaaaseee reply because this is driving me crazy.

When I update a second row in my form I lose connection and chrash

Hello everyone out there,
I have a problem, and it is becoming a big problem.
When I run my form on the web, using the 6iserver, I can update a row and commit it without any problems. If however I update another row and commit this, I get a couple of FRM-40733 PLSQL error BUILT IN DBMS_ERROR_TEXT failed Then an unhandled exception and finally I get ORA-03114 Connection lost. This is reproducable every time and seems to be occurring in al forms I generate new since a week or two! I don4t know of any changes of the enviremont on the development side.
The error doesn4t occur on when running the form client server!
Oracle database version 8.1.7.3.0
9ias version 1.0.2.2.2
We use Headstart version 6.5
I truly hope someone knows more about this problem!

OK - we still need to know what line this is happening at.
As a minimum, you can put in a few message lines message('Got to line10'); etc etc So you know the line which is
causing the problem
Once you estanlish this - try and remove all other code and items on the Forms so that it still reproduces - this way you
have the smallest (and simplest) reproducable test case.

Airport Loses Connection and Slow Download

After establishing a connection to the router, airport then drops out. First of all the number of bands on the airport symbol on the menu bar reduces gracefully from 4 to 3 to 2 to 1. If I click then on the airport symbol, 'scanning' is shown but with no result. If I try to reconnect, then the wireless network is not visible, either via the airport symbol, or via 'Network/System Preferences'.
When I am connected, however, the download speed as measured using www.speedtest.net is approximately only 50% of what is achieved on either a Windows laptop or my daughter's MacBook operating on 10.6, neither of which suffer the lost connection either.
There seem to be many similar problems reported in this and other fora, but no solutions that work for me.
Does anybody have any idea what to do?

Wi-fi can be very fussy. Cell phones, microwave ovens, other networks in the vicinity can all contribute to diminished performance due to interference. Understood that the other Mac and the PC are in the same location and function properly, (that said, vertical as in transmitting through a floor, is supposed to be more problematic than horizontal), but it is possible the Airport Card is just on the weak side to begin with and more vulnerable than the others. Everything--vertical transmission through the floor and a (perhaps normally) under performing Airport Card--may be contributing to a weak, dropped connection. Don't know. Don't want you to spend money for nothing, but it wouldn't be a big gamble to try one of these which are supposed to be superior. I'm using an Airport Extreme Card on this G5 with no problems, but it's on the same floor as the router and that's not terribly far away.
Also, have you experimented with different channels to see which one has the least interference? If you Option click on the Airport Icon, you will see the RSSI and the Transmit rate (grayed out) under your Network name. The lower the RSSI--it's a negative number--the better, and the higher the Transmit Rate, the better. For G the highest will be 54 (mbps.) I'm not sure which speed the iSight uses, but it might be limited to G. The default channel for many routers is channel 6, so if you're seeing other Networks in the area, it might be one to avoid in particular. All the others, with the exception of 1 and 11 have some overlap, so that's not great. I'm using channel 1 myself, but I might have to move around again if it becomes necessary. My Transmit Rate often stays at the peak of 54, but with interference, will dip sometimes to 36 or even 24.
My RSSI is around -67, but that will fluctuate considerably, as well.
Is there a more powerful antenna as an option for your brand of router?
I think you said you have SSID set to broadcast. That's the correct setting, since not broadcasting the SSID won't offer any extra security and will often cause problems.
You also might try posting over in one of the Airport forums (Extreme?) There are some really knowledgeable people over there for these issues.

I have an iPhone 3GS 8GB that works perfectly and finds my WiFi no problem wherever I am in my house. My mother, however, has just brought an iPhone 3G 8GB that cannot find our WiFi unless it is within a metre of the router
I phoned Apple and the woman on the phone said to reset the router and modem, done that but I still have the same problem. She also suggested about updating the iPhone 3G, but iTunes is telling me that its software is up to date .... "This version of the iPhone software (4.2.1) is the current version"
My iTunes is also up to date (version 10.6.3.25)
I have also tried resetting the network settings on the phone, turning the WiFi on and off on the phone and turning it on and off (someone said that might have worked)
Has anyone came across this problem before? And if so, how can I fix it?

The problem could be due to a loose antenna but it's impossible to say for sure.

HT1365 just installed a new wireless router (cisco linkseys E1200) and our apple laptops connect fine on one floor but lose connectivity when moved to another. Other non apple laptops & Ipad connect with no problem no matter what floor they are on

We just installed a new wireless router to our main PC. It's a Cisco Linkseys E1200. All other wireless devices were able to connect without a problem, including my Ipad. We have 2 Macbook Pro laptops. They both connect just fine when on the same floor of our house as the router, but when we take them upstairs to the 2nd floor of the house, they lose connectivity and it states the wireless password is not the correct password. All other 2nd floor laptops have no problem at all with connectivity no matter where they are in the house. Please help- my husband is on the verge of selling Apple if that cannot be remedied.

Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
