My instant messages do not appear. Please help.

I am using an AIM account on my iChat and my messages that I'm sending are not showing up. I type something, press the enter/return button and it still shows me just thinking. The people I've been sending them to tell me they have received the messages and replied but nothing is showing up on my end. I've restarted my computer mutiple times, had the computer shut down for at least a day, and it's still not working. I downloaded all of the updates for my computer and restarted. I removed my AIM account from iChat and re added it and it's still not working. It used to work perfectly fine with the same people I'm trying to chat with now. I am using a MacBook Pro 2.4 GHz that I bought in the beginning of July. I would really appreciate if someone could help me out.
Note: I did post this in the iChat AV 3 board but I realized I'm using iChat 4 so I reposted it here.

This is one particular issue I have not got down to one "fix" yet.
It seems that the most likely cause is an incorrect or partial Login to the AIM servers.
You should try deleting com.apple.ichat.AIM.plist from Users/(your account)/Library/Prefernces and restart iChat.
Deleting the .plist (moving it out of the Preference folder makes ichat recreate one from the defaults stored in the App. as th AIM servers are actually a collection of servers with flags set regarding your account it is easier to delete the .plist about which account is logged in so that falgs get reset when you restart iChat.

That's because you can't delete it directly from the phone.
Since you synced not imported those pictures to your iphone using iTunes, you will need to do the opposite and unsync the pictures, in order to remove it from your phone.

Mail Badge Not Appearing - Please help

Hi,
I have a Gmail account, and the iPhone set to fetch every 15 minutes. When I receive an e-mail, the phone vibrates or rings to indicate mail received, but no badge # appears on the Mail icon the iPhone's desktop.
Is this normal?

Egads. After the Comcast forced port change, then 3 days of Comcast "Can Not Help You's",
my third party "domain" address would still not send. Got all the configurations right, but the user login was in conflict. "Can not send both from same server" or similar to that.
My main Comcast account was in the same name of my main email address, or user (as yours may be because that's how they set you up) and my password was also the same. So Mail kept rejecting it as a conflict, and no one googled knew why.
I set up a new email account at comcast. Something like domain4ccastmail (@comcast.net) which I will never use. (No need to fill in the new password fields, it will keep the main). I used this new address for the outgoing smtp and password verification puzzle. Alas, no conflicting usernames. And I won. Hope you do too.

Another person who doesn't understand how to set CLASSPATH.
Move those JARs into the same directory as your SendMailBean.java and do it like this:
javac -classpath .;mail.jar;activation.jar -d . *.java

Several times my Sent message does not appear in Sent Mailbox

I have had many instances when sending messages (usually replies to messages in my Inbox) where they appear in the Mail Activity box and then following the "sent" sound, fail to appear in the Sent mailbox. When clicking on the Reply arrow I get the message "Mail was unable to find your response to the message “Re: Test”. You may have deleted the message." I have tried sending test messages and they seem to work OK. However over the last two days at least three replies to messages have disappeared in this way. The messages do not appear in my MobileMe sent box either. Using my non MobileMe address seems to work OK with the message appearing in the Sent Mailbox. Any ideas?

From reports on this site, Yahoo mail doesn't work reliably with Mail. The following steps may help.
Quit Mail. Force quit if necessary.
Back up all data. That means you know you can restore the Mail database, no matter what happens.
Triple-click the line below on this page to select it:
~/Library/Mail/V2/MailData/Envelope Index
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C). In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar. Paste into the box that opens (command-V), then press return.
A Finder window will open with a file selected. Move the selected file to the Desktop, leaving the window open. Other files in the folder may have names that begin with "Envelope Index". Move those files, if any, to the Trash.
Log out and log back in. Relaunch Mail. It should prompt you to re-import your messages. You may get a warning that the index is corrupt and that Mail has to quit. Click OK.
Test. If Mail now works as expected, you can delete the file you moved to the Desktop. Otherwise, post your results.

My instant messages are not being recognized after update

After I did the latest update, some of my instant message are not coming up with the person's name from my contacts, rather, just the phone number is showing up.

Try resetting the SMC and pram
To reset the SMC
Shut down the computer.
Unplug the computer's power cord.
Wait fifteen seconds.
Attach the computer's power cord.
Wait five seconds, then press the power button to turn on the computer.
To reset PRAM/NVRAM
Shut down the computer.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
Release the keys.

My instant messages do not appear. Please help.
