Internal microphone on Compaq NX6310  does not work and I can't locate it on my list of devices. What is the problem and how can I correct it? Thanks, Brian

I seriously doubt that Apple will accept your iPad for service/exchange since it sounds like it's a real basket case.  If they
Do accept it, the cost would be 99USD, but if it is a 64Gb model it will cost 199USD.  The best thing for you to do is to take it into the nearest Apple store to see if they will accept it for repair/exchange.  I can tell you that they definitely will not give you an iPhone in exchange.

The Left speaker of my iPhone is not working.. Is there a way to correct it... Actually if I connect iPhone to aux in of my car even then the left speakers of my car also won't work. Any suggestions?

    There is no left speaker.
As the manual clearly shows there is only one speaker at the bottom of all iphones.  The other is a mic.

speaker on phone calls will not work, how can I fix this? I have already done system restart and reset to manufature default. I also have no voice with Safari or any other apps including music!

If your speaker is broken, then you may need to get a repair done.
Are you unable to hear anything at all, or is it just one speaker in particular?
If it is just one speaker, where's it located?

  • The raise to speak feature on Siri does not work

The raise to speak feature on Siri does not work anymore is there any possible fixes for this

I had the same problem (iPhone 5), but the fix was simple.
Turn off your Bluetooth.  Yeah, I know this sounds crazy.  Here's why.
When you use Siri with the "Raise to Speak" feature activated (Settings/General/Siri), this enables the proximity sensor that lets the iPhone know it is near your ear, activates Siri, and turns off the display.
However, if you are using a bluetooth headset (like I do), then this sensor is turned off automatically, because you will be speaking thru your bluetooth and not the iPhone to activate Siri and make calls.
To prove this, do the following test.
Make sure "Siri" is on, and "Raise to Speak" is on (Settings/General/Siri).
    Turn off your Bluetooth (Settings/Bluetooth).
(TEST) Hold your phone in front of you, and with a natural motion, bring the phone to your ear (as if you are answering a call).  Siri will automatically activate, assuming you want to ask it/her a question (very cool feature). And the screen will turn offautomatically.
If you have never used the "Raise to Speak" feature, this feature automatically activates Siri when you raise the phone to your ear (really a cool and helpful feature). It may take a little practice to get used to this.  I struggled at first, but soon got the hang of using a natural motion to bring the phone to my ear.  Starting with the phone in front of you, the phone should be "almost" parallel to the ground when it gets to your ear.  It may take several practice tries to get it, but you will get it, and you will be hooked on this neat little feature.
Ok, with this done, this proves your proximity sensor is funtioning properly.
Now, turn on your Bluetooth (Settings/Bluetooth).
And repeat the same (TEST) above.
This time, Siri should not activate, and the screen should not go off.  Why? This is because your voice communications with callers (and Siri), are now going thru your Bluetooth, and not the phone handset.  Because of this, their is no need for the proximity sensor, so it is automatically turned off (when Bluetooth is on).
I can only speak for me and my situation, and what worked for me.  However, their may be other issues regarding the proximity sensor separate of this that I am not aware of.
    I hope this helps you.
Man I love the "Raise to Speak" feature, you will too.
    God Bless You All.

There is no "left speaker". It's a microphone... Try looking at the manual.

  • Speaker and main button does not work

My iphone suddenly fall down and after my speaker and main button is not working. other things are ok. So how can I fix this hardware problem?

Send it to a Apple Store to request for repairs.
Or restart the iPhone and see if the home button will work again. It could be that the OS is not detecting it or is not responding.

  • My speaker in iphone 4s is not working from yesterday ..it happened suddenly while listening to songs....do anyone had this pblm and how u resolved it?

my speaker in iphone 4s is not working from yesterday ..it happened suddenly while listening to songs....do anyone had this pblm and how u resolved it?

I got this problem solved and just want to let others know what it was.
I followed ewdel1's advice and brought my phone in to have it looked at and sure enough, was told that this is a problem others have had and it was due to a faulty integrated circuit.  Luckily, I was able to take this in to be looked at when I did because my 1 year warranty was about to expire in a week.
Apple replaced my 4S with a "new" phone.  The replacement looks and works good as new, so happy I didn't have to go through a hassle and the replacement was very straightforward.

  • The speaker on my iphone does not work

    iPhone 4S with iOS 5.1.1.
The sound on my iphone does not work, does not the music, or applications or ringtones ... It only works when you are using headphones.
The iPhone did not fall, got wet or struck.
I was listening to music through the speaker and suddenly stopped working.
Already restored it and still does not work.

Please make a Genius Appointment and take it in for service.
If your iPod Touch, iPhone, or iPad is Broken
Apple does not fix iDevices. Instead, they exchange yours for a refurbished or new replacement depending upon the age of your device and refurbished inventories. On rare occasions when there are no longer refurbished units for your older model, they may replace it with the next newer model.
ATTN: Beginning July 2013 Apple Stores are now equipped to do screen repairs/replacements in-house on iPhone 5 and 5C. In some cases while you wait. According to Apple this is the beginning of equipping Apple Stores with the resources needed to do most repairs for iPhones, iPads, and iPod Touches that would not require major replacements. Later in the year the services may be extended as Apple Stores become equipped and staffed with the proper repair expertise. So, if you need a screen repaired or a broken screen replaced or have your stuck Home button fixed, call your local Apple Store to see if they are now doing these in-house.

  • Internal microphone in MacBook Pro 15" not working after upgrade to Yosemite

    Hello
This issue is similar to iMac's problem with the internal microphone not working in FaceTime. In sound preferences, I have the internal microphone set for input. In FacetTme, I have Video->Microphone->Internal Microphone selected. There is no corresponding menu item for Audio (perhaps this is the problem? ). When I make a Facetime video call, I can hear the recipient, but they cannot hear me.
When I go into the Sound setting->Input, select Internal Microphone and test it (like record something from Photo Booth), the bars (input level) remain greyed-out.
    MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2010)
Processor 2.8 GHz Intel Core i7
    Memory 8 GB 1067 MHz DDR3

  • Mini DisplayPort - VGA and MBP 2011 not working

    Hi,
I can't get my 13" mbp 2011 to connect to VGA screens. I've bought a mini DisplayPort to VGA converter (an Apple one, not a no name) and if I connect a display over VGA the screen stays black. My mbp recognizes the display, I can see the display's model, resolution etc but no signal. I've tried multiple screens, none work.
I don't have other converters so I can't test if HDMI screens for example do work.
    Anyone else having this problem?

I have a 2011 13" i7 and am having the same issue when connecting it to my LG TV through the HDMI adapter. However when I connect it to my HP external monitor it works but it's VERY blurry... so blurry that it hurts the eyes to look at it for more than a few mins.
My previous MBP (2010 13") works fine however with both the TV and monitor. I even reconnected it just to make sure and they both work flawlessly.
I only have 14 days total to return this new MBP and 5 of those days are used up so if I can't get this fixed by then I have no choice but to return it and go back to my old MBP.

  • Windows Vista Business with MBP - wireless not working

I have successfully installed Windows Vista on my MBP using Boot Camp Assistant.
Problem is that the wireless ethernet does not work. I have heard of some file called "Install Macintosh Drivers for Windows XP.exe". If this is what I'm suppose to use where do I find this file?

    Hi and welcome to Discussions,
first thing to do after the Vista Installation is to insert the OSX DVD that came with your MBP while in Windows.
Apple provides the BootCamp Drivers on that DVD.
The Driver Setup should start automatically once the DVD is inserted.
Let the Driver install and do the neccessary reboot into Vista once it has finished.
    Hope it helps
    Stefan

  • International letter versions of letter a not working

Seems the international letter versions of the letter a is not working properly on my Ipad. If capital letters it works. Other international versions of letters seems to work ie. Letters e and o etc. Have tried in several different programs and no luck. Any suggestions?
    Thanks
    Goran

When holding down the a I do get the window and can see the different version of a:s. If I choose the Swedish a with two dots above the Ipad writes the letter ar. If I choose the Swedish a with a ring above the cursor jumps to the middle of the last sentence (Sent from my Ipad) and writes an a (this test done in Gmail). Choosing the same a in other apps brings up the "select, select all, paste" bar. None of the other versions of a:s does what they are supposed to. All the alternative o:s work. Have tried in other apps and in internet search boxes and the alternative a:s just don't work.
