My internet is blocked at my workplace please help!

Hi there,
This is a little bit of a tricky post since the issue I have with my computer only happens at work, but I figured I would try here before I called someone.
I just bought a new Mac Book Pro and I Touch. At my workplace we have an open router that everyone seems to gain access easily from except for me.
My workplace has it's own homepage that we're automatically directed to off the bat, no matter what address we type. Usually, after the it loads- we type in a different web address and it's fine from there. Not for me. Any time I try to type in a DIFFERENT web page that's not associated to my workplace- like aol, facebook, google my browser loads and loads and nothing happens. Sometimes it says server has stopped responding. No one else seems to have this problem, they can access other web pages without a problem. It's almost as if the homepage of my workplace is not only blocking all the other internet sites, but intercepting any web address I type and always, always, taking me back to their homepage. My airport says I have good reception, but nothing loads. It's very frustrating.
My IP, subnet and router address are the same as everyone else's. Ironically, my workplace's homepage has links to NY times, Playbill, etc etc, and when I click on those, the page loads ok (except for the images- it takes a really long time).
So, I'm wondering if there's a setting I should be using or switching to? Something Proxy or preference related? Is there anything I can buy or download can prevent me from having to deal with the workplace's homepage all together? It's tricky because it's a router at my work, so I can't really fuss with it . . . I'm wondering if this is something I can take care of myself through my computer.
The other weird thing is that we have many routers at work, and if I switch to another network, I don't have the problem. The trouble is, the router closest to me is the trouble router and I have to go to a different part of the building every time I want to check my mail or something.

Unlikely as you do not meet there requirements for unlocking.
Have your friend the provided the phone contact them. Based on your statements I am concluding he was or still is an AT&T customer, that is one of the requirements of getting the device unlocked.

When you enter iTunes on the PC and the iPod icon pops up, right click on it and select "Options". Then click on the Music tab. Once you're in the Music tab check the box that says "Enable Disc Use". This means that you've just turned your iPod into a portable hard drive. Click "Ok" and move your iPod from the PC to the Mac. From there, your iPod should show up on the Mac's desktop right under the Hard Drive icon. Click "File" at the top of the screen and select "Add to Library". Find the iPod hard drive in the selection screen and choose the music folder that's on it. Then just click Ok and all your music will be downloaded. That should do the trick, but you might want to do a Google search on the subject to get a second opinion. Best wishes!

When you set your monitor to a screen resolution that it won't support, the screen will go black for a few seconds while the monitor reverts back to the original resolution.
Regarding screen resolution, we may follow the below two articles to change it:

Follow the steps below:
1. Open Screen Resolution by clicking the Start button, clicking
Control Panel, and then, under Appearance and Personalization, clicking Adjust screen resolution.
2.Click the drop-down list next to Resolution. Check for the resolution marked (recommended). This is your LCD monitor's native resolution—usually the highest resolution your monitor can support.
And if the monitor is LCD monitor, The monitor's manufacturer or reseller should also be able to tell you the native resolution for your LCD monitor. Or we may check the monitor's manual to adjust.

i had a mac book and an iPhone , there was no problem at all to load infomation from i Phone to Mac until i had install the iCloud , since i install it , the iPhoto needs to be update , but when everytime i press the update icon on the iCloud manue , it brings me to App Store update page , then i press update again , and input my apple id and password , then it stop working and have a msg box pop up saying my mac is not connected to internet which my mac actually does connected ... i currently cant export any photo to my mac ... can anyone help me ?? i had tried to use bluetooth , but same problem ...... please help ....

There is no such thing as an "SG3" or "SG4". Did you possibly mean a 3GS and iPhone4?
It has always been very basic to ensure that a backup exists of your media and other important files. Computers fail, hard drives crashes... things happen. Do you not have a backup? The iPhone, like all iDevices is NOT a backup of your media, but rather a mirror of the content in the iTunes library on your computer.
If your contacts, pics, etc are not on your computer, no backups of the iPhone exist, and they are not on the phone, they are gone.
No one can magically make them re-appear.

Can someone please help me escalate my problem to a person from skype support that actually will listen to me?
I have tried to solve the problem with first-line support, to no avail.
My account was blocked last week, and I contacted support, which resulted in going nowhere.
The storyline:
- In the last year I was rarely using skype for calling phones (though I regularly use it for skype-to-skype calling) - mainly because I have a good offer from a local operator. However, last week this solution temporarily failed. I saw I still have credit in my skype account, so I tried to call a phone by skype. First time it gave me "destination is temporarily blocked". I thought it is a sort of a technical issue, so I tried the number many times, with no success. Next day it gave me "account blocked".
- Then I contacted support, and each time they came with ridiculous answers like "increased number of fraudulent calls to that number", or " your transaction has been carried out with a fraudulent credit card ", without giving me the opportunity to prove these are false. After that they seem to have closed the ticket, without any explanation, or solution.
I am really disappointed by skype. The time I most needed their service, I didn't get it. And it seems support does not care about customers at all.

Please disregard the above request - the problem was solved today.

Hi, recently I have been getting calls from a contact named "- -". I have tried blocking the user, and reporting abuse, but it keeps comming back. It has gotten me quite nervous, and I am unsure what to do. I do not dare answer the call, because I fear that it is some hacker, or virus. Please help, I cannot get rid of/ block the user, and I am sure it is not one of my friends playing a prank on me.
Also, as I have been looking at my history, I have noticed after I blocked the user, it has appeared as a different contact name.
If someone knows what to do, an admin or whatever, please post a reply. PLEASE HELP!!!!!

I just bought my macbook and i am about to start my first year of college... i want wireless internet but have no clue how it works or what i need to buy? Do i need a modem, and if so what is it? i do not want dial up or i dont have cable to hook it up to.. please help!

A modem is a small unit that converts either a cable or a phone signal to something that your computer can use. When you subscribe to a high-speed internet connection, the provider (eg, Verizon, Optimum, Road Runner) includes a modem with the package. It plugs into either your cable line or your phone line, and your computer (or wired router or wireless base station) plugs into it.
Your wireless card will only give you connection to the internet if you're in range of a wireless network. It's not like a cellphone where you can basically get service anywhere. For example, you can go to wi-fi cafes and get an internet connection (sometimes free, sometimes charged), but you usually can't stand in the middle of the street and connect to a public network (although some cities do have areas of public wifi, such as parks).
My recommendation is to check with your college to see what they offer in terms of internet connections.

Apple keeps asking for the answers to security questions that I never answered.

What was your first car?
What was your least favorite car?
I've only owned one car and the answers that I type apparently "don't match their records". But I never set up these questions and answers in the first place!!! Select the wireless connection from the list on the left. Click the "Advanced" button, and in the sheet that opens, select the "TCP/IP" tab. From the popup menu labeled "Configure IPv4," select "Using DHCP." Click OK to close the sheet, then click "Apply." Try again.

I play an online game called Final Fantasy XIV. I use a program called WTFast in order to have a solid gaming experience, one without or very little lag or disconnects.
Recently, within the last 3-4months, I have noticed I get EXTREME lag and DISCONNECTS. I contacted WTFast with a tracert that they analyzed, and here is their response:
"Your internet connection is very bad. There is a "plateau" spike. This will cause WTFast to spike as well, and for such a long "spike" it is not surprising that the connection was dropped.
The previous report showed a very unstable internet connection as well (the one where you got a 30 second freeze).
Present the same reports you sent to us to your ISP (Verizon FIOS) and ask them to try to make their connection better. The report will help them see the quality of the current connection."
Here is the information in the more readable form (except for the last four as I figured you would probably get the idea by then). Yes, 4 shows 100% packet loss, so the connection dropped then. Also, in 5 the standard deviation is high (16.35 ms) which indicates a huge fluctuation in the signal. The flux column also shows large numbers, which indicates a large variance in the signal speed. Finally, there are a lot of hops just within the ISP, ie rows 2-8, and all this data is for the ISP itself, not the WTFast connection. In fact, that connection is the last one, and there you can see good numbers. Hope this helps.

I did a tracert from my computer to sites like MSN.com; Verizon.com etc, and EVERY SINGLE 4 shows a 100% loss. I did the same tracert from my computer at work that uses a different IP provider, and those same sites show a response from 4.
Can anyone help me out with this please! Thank you for reading!

Internet and email not working. PLEASE help.

So I've had my blackberry for a couple of moths and everything's been fine.
Yesterday I stopped receiving emails on my blackberry and I also noticed that my internet wasn't working anymore. It came up with the message 'unable to connec to the internet, please try again later' even though I'm at home and my phone is connected to my WiFi.
I've looked around the internet for help and tried a hard reset a couple of times, which didn't help anything. I then tried deleting my service book and did the whole Host Routing Table registration again, and I got the blackberry registration email, however I'm still not getting emails.
Alot of the help online suggests going to Email Settings and Setting up my email account again, but seeing as my internet isn't working it comes up with an error message 'your device had a problem connecting to the server' when I try to launch the Email setup.
I saw that you could set up your email from your computer but when I tried to do this it didn't have my wireless service provider, BT, listed as an option.
This is really really urgent as I really don't know what the problem is and why it's suddenly occurred and what I'm meant to do! Any help would be MASSIVELY appreciated! thank you

Your enquiry isn't urgent, at least no more urgent than everyone else on here who wants help, so please do not be rude by suggesting that yours is more important in some manner.
There is nothing obviously wrong with your code from looking at it.
You don't need the if statement
if set_tick_symbol%FOUND thenbecause the preceding EXIT WHEN line will leave the loop if no data was found in the fetch.
If your query is "hanging" then you should run up enterprise manager and look in there to see if there any blocking statements or other reasons why your code is slow or stuck.
