My internet isn't working although my wi-fi says it's connected and on full signal?

I've tried restoring it to factory settings, rebooting the wi-fi, turning the router off and on again, using different IP addresses, turning the actual iPod off and on again, updated iTunes and the software to iOS 4.3.1 and still nothing. Any suggestions?

Probably what's going on is that your iPhone IS getting a wifi signal... but that doesn't mean you're connected to the Internet. That is, your router (Linksys or Airport, whatever) has been disconnected from the net and is now sending out an "empty" wifi signal.
Restart the router and see if that does it.

    Try turning WiFi off on the iPad, then reset it again, turn WiFi on again and join your network again if necessary. Or go to Settings>WiFi>Your network name>Forget this network. Reset your iPad and then join your network again. Or - settings>General>Reset>Reset network settings. Reset the iPad, then try to join your network again.

    After trying lots I found now in 'Airport Utility is 'unable to detect any airport wireless devises.....'
    There is no provider to be seen in airport utility and only 'rescan' is an option with no results...
    even so I am connected and can browse the net receive mail etc. and the outgoing 'mail server' is set to the internet provider I am connected to.
    Can you enlighten me what can I do I need to use my e-mail program urgently !!!

    I'm not sure what "IPS wireless" is, but unless you have an Apple Wi-Fi base station (such as a Time Capsule, AirPort Extreme, or AirPort Express), AirPort Utility won't see anything.
    You might try defining a new SMTP server to see if that will work any better.
    By the way, the subject field for these messages isn't intended to hold a lot of text.  Put a short description of your problem in the subject field and save the rest of your message for the body field.

    Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
    Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts   Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

    ‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
    Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
    I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
    Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
    1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
    2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
    3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
    4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
    5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
    6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
    7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
    8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just canceling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
    If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

    Ok, so I have a MacBook that I use all the time.
    Right now, I'm away from my home wireless network, and am attempting to use someone else's. I use several different wireless connections between home, school, and other friends' connections and I've never had any problems connecting. Now, with the connection I'm trying to use, I can connect to the network but I can't actually connect with Firefox, Mail, or anything else that require internet access.
    The device I'm using is a Sprint Mifi2200. The device works with the normal computer in this household (a desktop running Windows 7). When first attempting to access the network, AirPort would connect, but it would not prompt me for a WEP regardless of showing that it was a WEP protected network, and then nothing would work. After some fiddling and an epic quest for the WEP key, I managed to supposedly log in correctly. AirPort again says that I'm accessing the internet but nothing works: not Firefox, not Mail...
    I'm highly confused and wondering what on Earth could be causing these problems. Any advice?

    It sounds like you have access to the router, but not the internet, so you are half way there.
    This first thing I would check is to see what the internet settings at the household are and match them on your computer. I am thinking that the DNS Server settings will probably be the settings that are different as you seem to be able to access the router, but not internet. These settings need to be either added or removed from your Mac settings.
    Do you have access to the household W7 computer? If so, go to
    *Start > Control Panel > Network and Sharing Centre* (or Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Centre depending on how it is set up)
    Then on the left of the Window select *Change adapter settings* > Right-Click on the active Network connection and select Properties
    Here you will be presented with the IP settings and DNS server settings for that computer.
    Are the both set to Obtain Automatically, or are their manual settings there?
    If everything is Automatic, then the incorrect settings for that location are probably on the Mac settings.
    If Manual, the settings you will be most interested in are the DNS Server settings, but if the IP are also set manually, you should take not of these too. Write all these settings down.
    Now on the Mac
    *System Preferences > Network > Advanced*
    Select the DNS Tab and enter the same numbers as you found on the W7 computer
    If the IP settings were manually selected on the W7 computer, select the TCP/IP tab on the Mac, change the configure ipv4 selection to Manual if its not already.
    Enter the *IPv4 address* the same as the W7 IP address, except for the last number, make that different, eg W7 IP 192.168.0.1, make the Mac 192.168.0.3 or similar
    Enter the *Subnet Mask* the same as the W7 and also the *Default Gateway*
    If the settings on the W7 computer were all set to Automatic, then check on the Mac that these settings are OK. If there were no DNS settings on the W7 computer but are on the Mac, remove them from the Mac and see if you get Internet then.

    Try the standard fixes:
    - Reset. Nothing is lost
    Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
    least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory defaults/new iPod
    If still problem time for an appointment at the Genus Bar of an Apple store.

    What kind of info? like what kind of Apple computers I have? the specs? etc. I know I need Itunes on a PC as well to add movies to my Iphone 4s but, I also have a Samsung Galaxy S4 and, that phone all I do is Plug it in to my PC and from there on it's really easy because it gives me the option to let my PC see it as a external HDD to where I can litteraly drag my movies that I want into it.. And, boom! I'm done. With Apple is like oh my god, you need this you need that you need the other thing.. Blah Blah Blah LOL.... But, I'm a stubborn bull and I want to add movies to my Iphone 4s. So, what I do is the following, I plug in my iphone 4s to my macbook pro and Itunes launches by itself, then I click on the iphone 4s on the upperr right corner, right after a list appears with all my music, then I click on where it says Movies on the upper left, then I try to drag a movie into the list and there's an error message that appears telling me that the movie wasn't copied to my iphone because it can't be played.... at this point I gave up and here I am asking for help.
    I don't what info you want, I have a iphone 4s, a macbook pro wth OSX Mavericks, 2.6 GHz Intel Core !7 8 GB ram... I also have a Imac which I have put away since we just moved in so, I can't remember the specs but it's about 2 - 3 years older than my macbook pro...  Apple seems easy to use when it comes to graphic design, video editing and, working with audio... When it comes to multimedia, it seems not so great. I hope this is enough info... If not just ask me what you guys would need to know.. Thanks for your help...     If the same website is opening each time you launch a browser (Safari?) hold down the shift key as you launch to prevent previous pages from opening.
    Have a look at your settings in Safari > Preferences. Especially General and Privacy.
    Reset Safari to remove cookies and other stored data.
    System Preferences > General
    Have a look at your settings in System Preferences >  Security & Privacy.
    Call back with more questions.

    I just down loaded my software for the vz usb 720 modem on a new windows 8.1 computer and it says it is connected but the internet won't come on. It says firewall settings my have to be changed (921) Has anyone had this problem and is there a software upgrade for windows 8.1 that I need to use, or is it so out of date it will not work with 8.1 at all?
