My iOS doesn't updates it says 4.2.1 is the latest version ?
I try to update my Itouch 3g. When i clic on Update it says iOS 4.2.1 is the latest vetsion . But my Itouch 4g has updated succesully
Based on the message, are you sure that you have an 3rd generation iPod Touch and not a 2nd generation? iOS 4.2.1 is the final release available for the 2nd generation iPod Touch. If it were a 3rd generation device it should have had iOS 4.3 and subsequent.

There is NO such thing as a 3rd generation 8GB iPod Touch. Period......

Another way to verify which model you have is to look on the back of the iPod Touch itself for one of these Apple part numbers.

"Java Update" continually pops up on my computer saying I need to download the latest version (8.25). Even after downloading this latest version, this notice still pops up. I am worried it is a potential virus?

Restore it using the computer it normally syncs with, this should not require an iOS update.

My Home pg. says I'm not using the latest version-- Firefox says I am.
Mozilla Firefox is my Home pg/browser. It says I'm not using the latest version. But when I go to the Firefox pg to download the latest version, they say I'm updated ok. My computer's list of programs also says I'm using version 9.0. After downloading Mozilla 5 + times, my home pg still says I'm not on the latest version. Is it because the OS is Windows 7 starter?

You may see that message below the Google search box on www.google.com/firefox which is the old Firefox default home page. That page is no longer being maintained by Google.
You should try changing your home page to:
about:home
If you don't know how to change the home page, you should take a look at the Knowledge Base article [[How to set the home page]].

Have downloaded V801 but panel under search bar says I am not running the latest version
I downloaded latest version 801 the first time it loaded it was ok but every time since then the bar under the google search bar say I am not on the latest version with a triangle and ! . Tonight opening Numbers caused a 'free update available box' advising me to install the latest version of OS X and then download the latest version of numbers. 'OK' is the only choice.

I my macbook pro will not recognize my iphone. I keep plugging in my iPhone to my computer, but iTunes says it does not recognize my phone and won't sync because it needs the latest version of iTunes (11.1 I believe?) to work. I have already downloaded the latest version of iTunes, and I have retried multiple times just incase and it says I already have the latest version downloaded. It sounds like you have downloaded iTunes from the download site, but when you connect the phone to your computer you are prompted to update iTunes to 11.1. I would start by opening iTunes and then verifying the version that is running with this article:

On Windows
Open iTunes.
On the Help menu, click About iTunes. A window appears with scrolling text. The first text that appears displays the iTunes version (press the Space bar to freeze the text if it's moving too fast for you to read).
Also when you download the iTunes installer, you MUST double click the file that was downloaded to install it.
You can check in your Programs folder and try running the iTunes application from there to see if that works.

How on earth do I do that??? I Already have the latest version of itunes installed on my laptop already.
It should be telling you to download the latest iTunes on your computer... you can't install iTunes on your iPhone.

Need help: it keeps saying I'm not installing the latest version.
I'm kinda a computer noob so I don't really know what I'm doing. I'm the administrator of my computer. When I first go to download the flash player a thing called adobe download manager pops up, before it starts downloading it says it could not download mcafee sucurity scan, then the download bar for adobe flash player 10 fills up to100% then it says instalation complete, then I click on close download manager.
Then it takes me to another page and then at the top of the screen text pops up saying "This website want to instal the following add-on: 'adobe Flash Player Installer' "from adobe Systems incorportated" click to install if you trust this site" Then I click to install it. Then a window pops up and says windows needs your permission to continue then I click accept, then another window pops up and it says internet explorer add on instaler and it says "do you want to install the add on Adobe Download manager" then I click yes, then it brings me to the message I wrote at the top of this post: the not the most current version thing.
I never installed flash player 10.1 beta at any point in time
I went to the help section of the website but it couldn't help me.
The web browser I'm using is Internet Explorer.
