My ip address is not seen by other computers in my work group

Mac Mini OS X.10.2, 2.3 GHz i5, 8 GB 1333 DDR3, 500 gb hd
I can not ping my Mac from other computers in my work group (both PC and Mac). I've been sharing a folder for a few years in a small work group and all of a sudden that folder can no longer be seen or mounted mounted on other computers in my workgroup. I am connected to the network and internet and I can ping other computers in my group. They can't ping me (get no response when pinging my ip address) and therefore are unable to see me to mount and share my folder.
I've double checked all my sharing setting, permissions and find everthing as it should be, but others are unable to mount my folder.

Try going to the following
Tools->Web Developer-> Page Source.
You can also access this by way of keyboard shortcut Ctrl + U
The View Page Source option is also available via the right-click menu by just right-clicking inside the page window & it will be the penultimate menu item.

IPhoto 6 library not seen by other iApps and 3rd party applications

EVery since upgrading to iLife 6 my iPhoto library is not seen by iWeb, iMovie, ScreenSaver preference panel, PrintShop 2, etc. What I've tried:
1. Rebuilding all four options library
2. Deleting prefs
3. Repair permissions
Any ideas on what else i can try?

What do you see when you look for photos in the Media pane of iDVD or iMovie?
In addition to deleting the pref files for the iApps there's another preference file, com.apple.iApps.plist, that you should delete also. Then open the applications in the following order: iTunes, iPhoto, iMovie, then iDVD. That may help.

How can I get by external hard drive to be seen by other computers on the Airport Extreme Network

I purchased and installed an Airport Extreme yesterday. I finally got my computers to find it, but I cannot get my wireless laptop to connect to the external hard drive that is connected to the AE using a Cat5 cable. I have already verified that the Cat5 cable IS good so please don't advise me to change the cable. I am 36 hours into my purchase of the AE and ready to take it back to the store because it is NO WHERE as good as the sales rep reported it to be.

An ethernet connected drive is actually not part of the AE setup.
It is merely a client on the network.
So the first chore is to find it.

Other computers can access the network hard disk??
What OS is on the computer that is having access difficulty?
Can you please ping the hard disk.. on a Mac open the terminal and type ping followed by the address.
Or on a PC open the windows command and type the same thing.
Does the hard disk respond to ping?
Try mounting it directly in Mac by using Finder, go, connect to server.

Group name shows in the Address Panel, but when I click on it the addresses do not appear. It only happens with this group.

I send emails to a list that is divided into four groups.
Recently the fourth group has stopped working.
It has seventy addresses in it.
The others have between 70-100 and work fine.
When I type the name of the other groups into the address panel and click on it the addresses all appear.
When I do this with the fourth group only the name appears and not the addresses, so it does not send.
I now have to put each address into the panel individually which is time-consuming and annoying.
Please help if possible. Thanks.

Assuming you are talking about Logic Pro X.... (You may want to update your Equipment list that shows below you post btw)
Go to Logic Pro X's preferences and turn on all the advanced features under the Advanced Tab...
Now LPX will be running under the full Logic Pro mode and not the cutdown 'Garageband Pro' mode and the missing features will be present.

Can see but not connect to other computers on my home network

New laptop running 8.1 replaces crashed one (also ran 8.1). After setup, can see the other computer on Home Network (uses Windows 7). That one can also "see" the new laptop. ( Both computers appear in the network folder). Neither
will connect to the other. Get "cannot access message, check name etc."
Both computers are in same Homegroup, tried all the tests mentioned in support . . .everything seems set properly. Ran through all the network and homegroup diagnostics fine. Tried connecting with both firewalls disabled.
Is there a solution I'm not aware of? Others seem to have similar if not identical problem.

If we enable the network discovery, we will be able to find other computers or devices on the network.

PDF's in iTunes Not Showing on Other Computers

I put some PDF's into iTunes so they show up on my iPhone and iPad. That works fine. But my other computers do not have the documents showing in iTunes even though they are all "authorized". I suppose I could start "sharing" libraries at home but what about my computers at the office? It seems as though they are in the "Cloud" and so should show up on all computers.

PDFs can't be synced to other computers, so you have to add them to the iTunes library of each PC in order to have these documents on those computers. PDFs aren't uploaded to iCloud, so that's the reason they don't appear on your other computers

What are you using to open the PDFs? Reader or Acrobat? It may be that there's a problem with the application that you're using to open the PDFs. Please update (first) or repair Acrobat or Reader following the instructions in this document: Can't open PDF

IChat status change not seen by other users

Hi !
I have inherited a small network
I have a Aple Intel Xserve running 10.6.6 which all users are connected to
This has the iChat service set and running
All my users are running systems with 10.6.8
When some users change their status in iChat, this change is NOT being seen by the rest of the users
I cannot see any errors been highlighted in the logs on the server so assume the problem is with the client.
I can see nothing in the logs on the client.
Is there any diagnostic tools for iChat or should I be removing some plists on the client to solve this problem?

Hi,
As it is an X Server and therefore is likely to be iChat Server that you are running (Or another Jabber server) then I would delete to com.apple.ichat.Jabber.plist and then restart the client iChat to refresh the Login.
Regarding your additional post I do seem to remember another thread where people could change there Available Status (to one with a Message or back to Available -- actually check this last statement) but not to Away.
At present as I type the answer to this escapes me.
This bothers me as I thinks I either had this issue myself or could replicate it.
AS they could have the Bonjour List and the Jabber server list showing can you check they have turned Off the Bonjour Option.
I see you have already posted in the Server Communities as that would have been my next suggestion.
If this then appears to "solve" it check again with the Bonjour Buddy List showing but check if the setting is to have the same Message for all Buddy lists (I am not sure that iChat 5 can do this actually).
Edit See the iChat Preferences > General Section deselect the Use Same Status for all Accounts
The client users may find it's about trying to change the Status from a Buddy List that is not the "front" window - particularly if the Bonjour window is open as well and linked though having the same Status message.
(dismissing a Buddy list using the red button to left only hides the window so some people may have more Buddy List open (Check the window Menu or the App menu > Accounts)
EDIT.
removing all the .plists on the client's computer "Might" do it
Deleting and reinstalling iChat "might" (I can't remeber what the default for the Use same Status item is so it may just get reset)

Why live broadcast can be seen only on my computer? Why not be seen by other computers?

When someone tries to view broadcast, on another computer, error occurs #2048 !When I connect from another computer to see broadcast, FMC Console shows me that the server is connected ,but can not be seen transmission , error occurs #2048 !! Hi Tom,
According to your description, my understanding is that you got an error when you moved your SharePoint.
This error occurs when the SharePoint farm administrator cannot connect to your configuration database. Please verify the followings:
Make sure that from the SharePoint front end and application servers that you can ping your SQL server.
Make sure that your Farm account has permission to the configuration database.
Lastly verify that your database didn't for some reasons go into recovery mode.
once everything is fine and you are still having issues, restart the SQL host service on the SQL server. Once the service is restarted you will need to reboot Central Admin and then your front end servers.
In addition, as you built your farm inside the firewall, please disable the firwall, or create rules for SQL Server service in the firwall on SQL server. More information about creating rules in firewall, please refer to the following posts:

My MacBook Pro Retina is not seen by other's airdrop on Yosemite

Hello! I'll really appreciate some help here...
I can see everybody on my airdrop, and send files to everybody. But no one can see my mac on airdrop, neither send me files. This happens from macs and iOS devices, I can send files to them but they just don't see me...
What I've done:
Checked my Firewall (is off)
Changed like 30 times from "discoverable by: contacts only" to "everyone" to "no one" and back...
Bluetooth and wifi on
Again, I can send files, but no one see me... But, and this is the crazy part of the issue... sometimes (with the exact same configuration) i have been seen by the same devices that doesn't see me now!!!! Maybe in a few days the devices may see me again ... this is crazy...!
Does anyone knows what to do ?

Why are my JPEG exports from Lightroom 4 are not displaying on other computers?

When I export JPEGs from Lightroom, they display fine on my computer but when I send them to the client, they are not displaying at all. There is a message saying that the software on the clients computer may not be up to date so I tried updating their software but to no avail.

I know, it's strange. I've never encountered it before. They are definitely JPEGs, although I don't know if the difference between JPGs and JPEGs is anything to consider.
On my computer, 2008 MacBook Pro, OS 10.8.3, they display through Preview. Also, when I upload them to Dropbox, the thumbnails display correctly. I have transferred them to a USB key as my client was not tech savvy enough to grasp Dropbox. When I brought the USB Key to the client and transferred to her MacBook Air, neither the thumbnails nor the photos themselves displayed. I also tried transferring to her PC and the same result.
I was trying to contact Adobe support to see if this was a problem other people had experienced.
