I would like to know the answer to that one. I realized this was happening just after upgradeing my iOS to 6. Then when I looked up my purchase date, I was about 5 days past my one year warranty. So I'm dead in the water. Apple will replace the battery, but it will be about $80+. I took it to the Apple store, and they checked a bunch of stuff, but said that it seemed ok. I'm debating getting a battery for a more reasonable price off of ebay. But if it's the iOS thats draining the battery, then I'm not going to be able to help it. Yes, you have WD software installed REMOVE IT !!
WD has warned its customers about their huge mistake that their software doesnt work on Mavericks and causes data loss.
(also dont use WD drives anymore)

If this does not help, contact Apple.

Return it for a credit. Buying things like phones and computers on eBay is not a good idea. If the person refuses to refund your money, use the eBay appeal process since you were sold something that does not work.

What Can I Safely Do With This dictionary.jar?

Stupid question: In my User Account, I have a file called "dictionary.jar." Spotlight says it is a Java JAR file of 193 KB.
Where can I move it so it isn't sitting between my Desktop and Documents folders? Can I safely trash it? Or should it stay on my hard drive library?

It's not a standard Mac OS X file - at least it's not present on my system - so without knowing where it came from, I can't say whether you can move or delete it without causing problems for some application on your system. You can always try moving it and see if some application then complains or has problems.

Can I Get Help With This Perfect Photos Workflow?

I've switched over to Photos.
Set up iCloud photo library and seem to be forever uploading... After just over a week I'm still at 12k+ photos remaining to upload of around 18k total. At this rate I have over a month to wait for everything to complete!
The downside of this seems to be that photos taken on my iPhone - simply are not syncing to my Mac via the Photos App. The last iPhone photos are from April 8, since then I have taken around 40/50 more photos. On my phone they show as being uploaded, but nothing on my Mac.
On top of this issue, is it possible to cherry pick which albums etc I upload from my Mac to iCloud Photo Library?
Also, can I stop the upload of every single photo I have but still use iCloud to sync my iPhone photos back to my mac? The Photostream button is checked, but like I say photo syncing seems to have stopped in early April.
Finally, I have optimise storage checked on my iPhone for the photos that are being synced - yet each time I look at a photo is downloads the full res version. Is this the normal behaviour? I would have thought it simply created a smaller file size with a little less detail etc?! It's not really optimising storage if when I look at a synced album it then downloads every image...
Any help or guidance on how to set all this up correctly would be much appreciated!

I have the exact same "issue." I have 8000 more photos to upload to iCloud. My iPhone, iPad, and iCloud (on the website) sync perfectly. However, nothing I take with my iPhone or iPad, after I switched to Photos, goes to my Mac. I'm guessing that once my entire library (previously iPhoto) goes up to iCloud, then it'll add those newer photos as well. I think uploading old photos has a priority over adding newer photos recently taken.
I did a test and tried to make a new, separate Photos library and used it as the System Photo Library but did NOT import all my old iPhoto items, and the Mac synced perfectly. So let's see what happens after the uploading of everything from our old iPhoto library.

I am posting this here as my fiancé is pulling her hair out over Verizon's customer service (or lack of it).
I'm from the UK, my fiancé came to visit me from Florida. Originally for 3 weeks then decided to stay for 6 months. I advised her to contact her cable and phone providers and let them know she was out of the country. She did. Verizon suspended her service and that was that.
Until we got back...
We have a bill for 300 dollars. For service we haven't used. She called Verizon and was informed her service had only been suspended for 3 months. Something she was absolutely not told when she made the call or something we asked for.
The operator who took her call said she could only go by what the notes on the call said. Would not take any evidence from us (I can prove she was out of the country with assorted paperwork).
They also claimed there had been calls made on the phone. Which is impossible as the handset was off and out of battery the entire time she was with me. The only thing I can think of is she has Google voice attached to that number and as soon as the number reactivated it started forwarding calls to her Google voice.
Again this didn't occur to us as we were told her phone was deactivated.
So I have one very cross fiancé. Who's fed up and doesn't want to call again as shes frustrated and upset. I am completely furious. I will be looking for a phone myself over here and I have been completely put off of Verizon.
I have always praised US customer service as in the UK we don't do it very well. This however is really poor.
If anyone can offer some advice I would really appreciate it.

You can only suspend service for 3 months at a time (with or without payment) and only twice a year.
