My iPad 2 glass has cracked is it possible to repair it without having insurance?

help! I've had my ipad for about 2 months now and the top right corner cracked because it fell on the concrete floor. What can I do?

Apple does not repair iPads, but will replace the entire iPad for a flat fee; see the Repair Pricing section here:
http://www.apple.com/support/iPad/service/faq/
If you have an Apple Store near you, you can take your iPad there, explain what happened, and in some cases the technician has been able to replace the iPad at no charge, though Apple's apparently tightened up quite a bit on such "discretionary" replacements so they may have to charge you.
There are independent iPad repair services that may be able to replace the screen for less. Do a web search for "iPad repair".
Regards.

You'd have to either take this to your local Apple Store or contact them via email to see what can be done and how much it will be to resolve.

I have already purchased iMovie for my iPad.  Is there a way to download to my MAC without having to pay again?

The iPad version is for iOS devices and can't run on OS X.
The OS X version costs 3 times as much and is a separate download.

  • On my iPad, my mother has set up her email, now that she's having issues with it, if I delete the account on my iPad, will that delete her whole account or just on my iPad?

Please, is any support able to help?

If you delete it from the mail app it's just gone from that app. The account itself is untouched (for example I can delete my yahoo account info but my yahoo account is still out there and can be accessed.

  • Is it dangerous to use the IPad if the glass is cracked

My iPad was dropped and the glass has cracks.  Is it dangerous to use?

If you don't have the $ to get the iPad replaced by Apple or repaired at a 3rd party source, buy/install a screen protector to keep the glass intact and preclude getting cut.

MY IPAD AIR has cracks on it that are developing fast across the screen. are these fixable ?

I'm sure it is but it'll cost you if it's out of warranty or if the warranty does not cover the damage. Take it to a nearby Apple store.

  • Help!!! I want to cry!!! My screen has cracked!!!

Hi here, I don't know if anyone else has had this problem, or what i should do about it. I woke up this morning to find the glass cracked on my new Mac book pro 17"!!!. I understand that apple don't cover screens in their warranty, but surely there must be something i can do because the screen has cracked on its own!!! Please someone help me!!!!

How Travis would the glass brake on a display all by itself?
It is possible that the glass could break due to torsion within the aluminum frame if the lid was not quite square. This could be exacerbated by large temperature swings. In this case I would argue that Apple is obligated to replace the display (and lid, most likely) because of physical defect in the casing.
I'm not saying that this is what happened, or anything of that nature. What I'm simply saying is that there are many causes for many things. I try to believe that people are generally honest. Because it is quite easy to tell whether these machines have suffered a substantial fall (unless onto a very soft surface) I would find it hard to believe that Apple would refuse to repair it if there were no other signs of trauma. Then again, I don't represent Apple in any way, shape, or form. The original poster should not take my words as truth of any kind; I'm merely offering my own interpretation of the warranty, correct or incorrect. That's why these forums are user-to-user.

The screen on my iPod has cracked / shattered.  Is this something that can this be fixed or do I need to get a new iPod?  Everthing still works just the glass is shattered at the bottom and cracks are running up through the screen.

It can be fixed by Apple, some authorized Apple repair shops, or third-party repair shops.
Apple actually replaces your iPod with a refurbished iPod and the price will depend on what model you have. Others will repair your iPod and the prices tend to be lower.

  • My iPod glass is crack and the headset hole got very big and I cannot hear music from the headset but the headset work on other device

My iPod fell on the floor and the glass was crack also, the hole that the headset plug into got so big I cannot hear a sound from it. The headset work on other devices, what should I do?.

kaz-k, the warranty is irrelevant. A broken screen is not coverd by the warranty and void the warranty on the entire iPod.
Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for this price. They do not fix yours. I would say not worth it for a 2G iPod

  • Rear Glass Panel Cracks - Apple Store Appointment

Almost made it a full year without a hardware issue or damage, but last week my phone slipped out of my pocket and kissed the parking lot. The rear glass is cracked and starting to splinter out more and more. I realize there are places to order 10 dollar replacements but I'm trying to keep it official in terms of repair. I've heard mixed messages that the Apple Store does and doesn't offer replacement rear glass repair.
Can anybody offer me some direction with this? Should I make an appointment at the Apple Store to have it looked at? Is there a pricing model somebody has access to?

I believe it is 19.95.  Not sure if all stores do this.
Call the Apple Store and ask.
    Yes, make an appointment.

  • My ipad currently only has 18% charge, i want to download ios6 but it wont let me click on the button, could this be because it needs more charge

my ipad 3 currently has only 18% charge, ive just gone to click on the download button to download new ios 6 but its not highlighted so therfore i cant do it, is this because ipad needs more charge?

Yes, the update takes quite a bit of time (> 1 hr for my iPad2) and will not initiate unless you have enough juice in your battery or are plugged in.
