So I travel an hour to there, then they told me to contact Apple online since it's a cosmetic problem, they can't send it for repair or exchange...

Hi Peter,
There are always issues with the screen on devices. In the case of slight bleeding, one QC engineer might pass the product while another might not, due to color and lighting perception differences between engineers.
Different service centre will have different service levels due to the fact that this IS Singapore...
I suggest going down to QCD.

    I just want to mention that if the DSL light isn't on, it is definitely the phone line, however it is not always the provider's fault. Remember they are responsible for the line from the pole to the house, but not the inside wiring. If your phone line is unplugged from the jack, the DSL light will not be on. To be sure that it is SBC's fault, go and test the connection at the d-marc box outside the house.
    Take your laptop, your modem and a phone line and plug it in out there. If you don't get the DSL light, it is definitely their problem. If you do outside, but not in the house, and you call them out, you will get charged for the service call.
    Also the built in ethernet cards, more commonly referred to as airport cards, are not really delicate per se, but the wire for the antennae connection is most definitely. Only if you removed yours which you would have to if you wanted to add RAM, would you have any reason to be concerned about possibly damaging it. SBC telephone tech support is always showing off their lack of knowledge.

    I have it but not horribly. I have resigned myself to wait until the mad rush for the iPad2 is over and see how they resolve the issue. Reminds me of the iPhone4 camera problem with white balance. Eventually they solved it. At that point I took mine (iPhone) back (several months later)and they still replaced it without questions. I am suspecting they will do the same with the iPads.

    If I upgraded to 10.5, would any of the problems such as misplaced files and apps, etc. in Tiger 10.4.11 interfere with the upgrade.
    If it's Apple Apps, like Safari, Mail, etc., then there will be new versions to replace all the missing files/components.
    The Mac OS X Installer stops with 2 minutes remaining and it can't finish copying the disc.
    How much free space is on your Hard Drive?

    That second Disc thing happens frequently, the best way around it is to do a Custom install, and eliminate enough Printer Drivers, Languages, Fonts, and Applications you don't need... then it may skip #2 altogether.

    i  am on my 3rd ipad 2 all of them has had real bad screen bleed . the last one was like flood lights at a football match. i have spoke to apple and they no they have the problem and are trying to sort it. they are sending me one yet again. my first one they said it would be exchanged so they sent me a box but that went for repair ( naughty) . then after 2 weeks sent new one same problem so they sent one more U.P.S are at my house alot at mo lol. now i am waiting for one more should be with me in 2 weeks. must say apple are sending gifts as well to cover the problems so cant moan to much.

  • I've had a very bad experience with an Apple Service Center in my country. Is there any way I can report this to Apple?

    I brought my laptop there to have my monitor fixed. They gave me a quotation of around Php 21,000. Then, the engineer texted me and offered me a repair without labor fee for around Php 10,000. I replied saying that I will think about it. After a few days, I texted the engineer my go signal for the repair at Power Mac and I will just pay the Php 21,000 fee. I called the San Juan office around after a month and it turned out that they didn’t know that I gave them a go signal and that I found out at that moment that I was supposed to give a downpayment. They were so surprised about it and told them that they will report the issue and investigate the person who texted me. They said that engineers are not supposed to personally text the customers. The manager even called me to apologize and asked me if I am willing to join the investigation and find out the name of the suspect.
    They think they wouldn’t even have given me any discount at all until I asked. They gave me a small discount despite the issues.
    I just claimed my laptop today only to find out that its battery life was decreased to 30 minutes from around 4 hours. I don’t know if the engineer switched my battery or they damaged it during the repair.
    I don’t even know if all the parts of my macbook are still original. I have no idea if they replaced the others or not. I am really disappointed with the Apple Service Center. I still don't know howI am going to talk to them about the battery.
    Do you have any suggestions where I can have my gadgets repaired? Please suggest good service centers. Thank you!

    Hey  so I recently got an iPad Air and so far I love it is amazing and since I am a designer it has allowed to show my work very well.  Recently I got some eye surgery and something I have notice that I am far more sensitive to light and can detect sudden things that before I would have just ignore. I was in my dorm watching a movie on Netflix and I started to notice that there was a “glow” in the  left side of the display; I changed to YouTube and even my own videos and that glow  persisted. After some research I came to the conclusions that it was backlight bleeding, though I believe that  it is not as bad as some of the images as I saw on the internet, it is some thing that many IPS LCD LED suffer from. Is my display in the normal a acceptable range or should I get it changed ???

    Try a reset. Press and hold both the home and power buttons until the Apple logo appears. Release both buttons. Wait until your iPad starts on it's own.

    When we try. To listen music or movie the speaker has noise  and  most of the time sound is low.

    - Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so.
    Try the following to rule out a software problem

    Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
    least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings

    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a bad headphone jack or other hadware problem.

    My iPad 2 has light bleeding and 1 dead pixel and also dented corners. It is still under warranty so if I take it to a genius bar, will they repair/exchange it or will it cost?

    How old is your product?  I'm betting that you're trying to score a new iPad3.  Apple has a specification for dead pixels, and only one dead pixel will not qualify for a free repair.  Accidental damage caused by the user, including dented corners, is not covered by the warranty.

    I have it on mine and honestly its not that obvious, unless you are really looking for it or during night time..
    The lumia's generally have quiet a few bugs, both in hardware and software, which I tend to ignore as overall its beautiful phone.
    If it worries you too much get it changed although there is little chance the new one might have it as well

    If those do not help, your iPhone may well need service. You will not be able to get a Canadian iPhone serviced by Apple in the Philippines. You will need to send the iPhone back to your boyfriend or someone else in Canada who can get it serviced there and then send it back to you.

  • Sony Service Center Rejecting to fix my phone.

    I have a 7 months old Z1. Recently I am facing touch screen issue. When I took to the service center, they said they cannot fix it and have to replace it. The whole problem started now, they refused to replace saying it has damages and needs to get Sony India's approval. Now , after 1 week they are saying that they cannot replace it as it has physcial damage. Please take a look at the pictures attached about the so called damage. The worst part is that they are refusing to repair it also. When i insisted they said they will give me a quote today evening. If i am under warranty why should i be paying for service?  Also, the service center guy has sopped picking up my calls and I have to call from another number so that he will pick it.     There are no problems to ensure the waterproof IP certification after a LCD+Screendigitizer change. Especially not if you let Sony do it.
    Precut adhesive is used so no gaps there. I have changed some displays and even in my Xperia V i changed it myself. No problems and not very expensive. Also very easy to do, you usually get the tools you need aswell. Check on eBay.
    A bit more to do on the Xperia Z1 since it has the back cover glued aswell. But not that hard. I think the Z1 LCD+Screendigitizer is about $80-100 USD and the adhesive maybe $5-10 USD.
    But i do get why they might not wanna do it, if the phone was dropped then it isnt their fault that the LCD or screendigitizer breaks. Even if the screen itself didnt brake at the time when the phone was dropped, it could have caused micro cracks wich eventually made it crack.
