My iPad 2 is in a state of constant reboot! Help!

My iPad 2 is currently in a state of constant reboot - cycling continually between the Apple icon and the "waiting" icon (wheel of death, as I've seen it referred to).  It cannot be interrupted, and keeps going for hours until it runs out of battery.
I've tried the hardware reset a few times, which interrupts the cycle, and brings up the Apple icon, but then it just immediately retuns to it's previous state of constant reboot.
I've tried connecting it to iTunes. iTunes recognises it but says I have to unlock it with my unlock key. I cannot do this because it is not possible to interrupt the reboot sequence to get the input panel.
It is not jailbroken, and I'm happy to have it restored from scratch.
I am in China temporarily, and my iPad has become quite a lifeline for me, and am devastated that it's stopped working.
I can take it to the Apple Store here, but would prefer to fix this from home.  However, I also don't want to mess this up such that the Apple store folks think I've tried to Jailbreak the iPad, because that definitely is not my intention!
Any thoughts/hints/tips?
Thanks.

Restore seems to be the best option. Have you tried a hard reset ?

during the Windows XP start-up, right before it should
display "Welcome" (Choose user profile) screen. This started
yesterday when I was just surfing the net and listening to
some mp3s, I hadn't installed anything new for a while.
Now I can't get the system running even in safe mode, nor does
System restore help. After the progress bar of Windows XP
Home Edition, the machine just beeps and reboots.
There seems to be no heat problem (specs below), because I
can get to the bios settings by pressing Del, and I can
browse them as long as I want.
I am pretty sure that there are no viruses, my McAfee
updates itself very often. I have a ZoneAlarm firewall to
    protect agains hacking.
I've had some reboots earlier, maybe twice a week. This
began after I changed my processor to AMD Athlon XP 3000+.
But now something made my setup completely unstable.
I know I don't have the latest bios drivers, the old ones
did not work (had to use System Restore to get the PC
running after installing them, but I didn't have a chance to
install the latest ones before this catastrophe happened).
Should I do a repair install of WinXP using the install cd?
What should I do, and what might be causing the problem? Any

    Hello.
You motherboard does not support an XP3000+ unless you have BIOS 1.8.
Do you have any BIOS updates? I recommend the latest one.

You mean CHIPSET drivers, VIA 4in1? BIOS is not part of OS
The AMD XP3000+ CPU that you have, is it the 333Mhz FSB version or the 400Mhz FSB version?
You board does not support the 400Mhz FSB version.
You RAM, are they the same make and model
Are they both PC2700 or PC3200?
Have you tried 1 stick at a time?

My iPad and iPhone4s both state "NOT ENOUGH STORAGE" and can't backup due to not enough iCloud storage available in the cloud.
I have sync my phone to my pc using itunes, but I still get the msg on the phone - could it be that the ipad and phone both receive the same mail?  I did go into Settings - icloud - and shut off Mail on phone - I will sync the iPad as well - both devices receive my mail as well as Acer pc.?  thank you -

Not having enough storage in your iCloud account isn't caused by using your iCloud email account on your device.  It may be caused by having lots of email in your account though.
Go to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>Manage Storage to see what is taking up the space in your account.

  • IPAD 2 is in constant rebooting loop!

    Hello all,
Recently I've ran into a huge issue with my iPad 2. It went into a constant rebooting loop/mode and when I tried to put it in recovery mode so that I can restore it by using iTunes, this is what I got. I've been searching through google and even all over pretty much APPLE forum to look for a solution but I found none. Would anyone be so kind to lend me a hand on solving this issue...Please...
At first, I updated it to IOS 7.0.4 from IOS 6.1.3. If the iTunes issue can be fix, I'm sure I will be able to restore my device...

First thing to try is a reboot of your iPad. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider until the Apple logo appear. Let go of the buttons and let the iPad restart. See if that fixes your problem.

  • HT201210 My ipad mini is stuck in a continues reboot and will not turn on or shut off. What can I do.

My Ipad mini was in the middle of an update for the Pintrest app when the upload froze. I tried shutting down the ipad and that seemed to cause it to go into a constant reboot. Now the ipad will not turn on or shut off. Only display the apple sign. Are the any self fix remedies out there to fix this?

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Constant Rebooting Part 2

Like sibo66red's daughter in the "constant rebooting" thread, my blackberry 8520 is stuck in some recurring reboot state.
I was fiddling with security settings, setting up security passwords etc. When "testing the new settings out" I locked the keypad and for some unknown reason it initiated a reformat or something to that extent. I was unable to cancel the reformat so I stupidly resorted to taking out the battery in an attempt to save my data...
After re-inserting the battery, the timer appeared as it attempted to reboot. It does not, however, reboot. The timer just shows for about 25 minutes until the screen goes black. The process automatically repeats.
Now this seems like sibo66red's same issue, but my phone does not show the loading bar. Im attributing this to me having the old operating system? Should I still follow the pre-wipe/wipe/install OS process?
What I have done so far to see if I can fix it:
    Remove SIM card
    Remove Memory Card
    Use another 8520 battery/SIM/mem card
Connet the phone to a charger (lol)
Connect the phone to a PC ---> no effect/little response from pc
Going to my service provider to act on the warranty is my last resort as I am lazy.

What you've got in your hands is what is called a "nuked" or "bricked" BlackBerry.  If you do a search for how to fix a nuked BlackBerry, you will find a variety of instructions, but here's one that is fairly easy to follow and includes pictures as a guide:
    http://crackberry.com/blackberry-101-lecture-12-how-reload-operating-system-nuked-blackberry
Try that and see how it works for you.  The key step here is to plug the BlackBerry in at the right time to catch it and stop the reboot from continuing.
Good luck and if that doesn't help, let us know how far you made it and at what point you had problems.

  • 9320 on Constant Reboot after Trying to Turn On Bluetooth

My BB Curve 9320 is constant reboot.
I've had the phone about 9 months.  I went to turn on the Bluetooth for the first time today.  As soon as I opened the menu tray and "checked" bluetooth the phone shut off.  It started to reboot...it went through the whole cycle of loading and will reach the regular screen, but after 3 seconds will shut off and restart again.  Continuously.
    I have:
-taken the battery out (multiple times): continues
-followed the advice to start in Safemode, it will start in safemode, but shuts off after 3 seconds and reboots
-connected it to laptop via USB, but the computer will not pick up the device to be able to access it
I have actually gotten to the screen and in the 3 second window been able to click on the Networks tray again to see that Bluetooth is no longer "checked" on--doesn't matter, still only have the 3 secs before the reboot cycle.

  • Whatever i try my macbookpro reverts back to GMT time, two hours ahead of spain where i live. manual setting helps but synchronizing iPad puts it always at GMT can anybody help

whatever i try my MacbookPro reverts back to GMT which is two hours ahead from where i live in spain. manual time setting helps for MacBookPro but in synchronization of iPad it uses again GMT. Can anybody help me with this problem? Thank you

No, the app does not have to completely restart. It gets shifted in its open state into storage. Similar to how a computer uses the hard disk when it has insufficient memory.
What complicates things is that sometimes memory does not get returned for reuse when you close an app. Thus yo should periodically double click the Home button and "delete" unnecessary apps from the multitasking dock and power off and then back on the iPod.

No, there isn't. If possible return it to whomever you purchased it from and get your money back. Otherwise, you have a very expensive paperweight that is of no use to you.

  • Constant reboot after IOS4 upgrade Solved!

I too was having the dreaded error 29 code and stuck in recovery mode along with the 5 minute constant reboot since upgrading to IOS4 two days ago. I had to use Blackra1n to get it out of recovery. Blackra1n will NOT jailbreak IOS4 but will fix the stuck recovery mode problem. I also had previously replaced the battery with a higher capacity mAh. the upgrade to v3.1.3 went perfect. Only when I upgraded to IOS4 did things change. It would constantly reboot and the battery was slowly draining and would not recharge. I poured through countless forum posts and tried most all of them. Then this evening I found a post somewhere in this forum about possibly the battery was causing the problem. So I got out my tools and put the original battery back in and booted up. It got to the front screen and immediately a bunch of old calendar events started popping up which was different than before. I cleared them all and I have now had my iphone on steady for over an hour and not one reboot. Battery is also now recharging off my laptop.
So long story short, if you've replaced your battery at some point, put it back in or hopefully an OEM with same APN: 616-0434 (#for my iPhone). Everything is now working in IOS4!

    Booted into Faunos Live system.
As root, ran Fsck on the HDD with inode problem.  Answered yes to all system repair queries.
Rebooted into archlinux HDD with no problems.

It shows on the screen that it is plugged into itunes.
How do I get my ipad working again?
How can I download IOS 6.1 succesfully?
    Thanks

Double tap the home button and find the mail app. Drag the app up from the multitasking display to close the app. Then reboot the iPad and try again.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
