My iPad 2 is jumpy and slow

After doing the os8 update, the closing of apps is looking stiff and jumpy, I don't have the patience to wait for pages to load or they just won't load. My iPad feels like has become a dinosaur and it isn't that old. wth.

eitehr is possible. You could have jarred something loose when you dropped it. or it could just be a coincidence.
What I would do, while it functions, do a full backup of your data or get anything off it you just can't lose. You then face the choice of buying an out of warranty replacement, which starts at 249 for an iPad 2. Or buy yourself a newer model.
It's probably just a matter of time before it dies totally

Mouse jumpy and slow???

hey i was using my friends mac mini and she has a 3rd party mouse attached to it and it is very jumpy and also on the highest speed setting it is slowwwwww. so..i was wodnering.
are alll mac mouses like this,. like, is it the comp, and the speed setting
or is it the mouse?
or maby the combination.
Does the wireless/wired mighty mouse do this
...etc.
the funny thing is that i also notice this sortof thing on mac trackpads.
i am a user (probably) switching from a toshiba laptop with a trackpad that in my opinoin works better but also, with a wireless mouse that on highest setting (and no inhance persision options) its just zippss acrossd the screen which i absolutely love.

no, not all mice attached to a mac are like this. of course not. often with optical mice it is the surface they are being used on. if the surface is shiny or patterned it will often make the mouse act erratically, whether it is being used with a mac or windows computer. this can also sometimes be a software problem.

IOS 8.1.2 Ipad mini 2 Laging and slower screen rotation

I have just updated my brand new iPad mini 2 with IOS 8.1.2 and the screen rotation became slower ,at the lock screen it became more obvious it takes 1-5 seconds to rotate and the "slide to unlock" slider animation is freezing and lagging ,at the application screen takes 1-3 seconds ,the problem goes when I restart the device ,How Can I solve this problem .

IPad is really lagging and slow to respond

Since I updated to the OS7.2 my iPad is so slow to respond to touching and swiping. Is anyone else having the problem?

reset all settings
settings-general-reset-reset all settings
now reconnect to wifi
settings- wifi- click network name- enter password - join
if issue persist back up and restore as new via iTunes

Upgraded my ipad4 from ios6 to iOS 8 because the new WSJ app required it. HUGE MISTAKE!!!!!!! I can maybe understand some apps being slower but not Safari or Chrome. Apple must be throttling back the ipad4 processor even more with ios8 to force an upgrade to the next gen iPad whenever it arrives.

When I first updated my original,iPad I had a number of issues with it, crashes, some sluggishness, and things like that. When the infest incremental update was released a little while later, it seemed to fix the issues on the iPad - or at least it made a very big difference.
I never updated it all the way to 5.1.1 - because I bought the new iPad so I have no first hand experience with 5.1.1 on the original iPad.
You can try some basic troubleshooting steps and see if they make a difference.
Quit all apps completely and restart the iPad. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar. Restart the iPad.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Sometimes this can help. Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
If you have issues with Safari - Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History, Cookies and Data. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

No, downgrading the iOS version is not supported by Apple.
You could see if any of the following improve things :
- closing apps via the iPad's taskbar : iOS: Force an app to close.
- if having problems with Safari, clearing its history and data : Settings > Safari
- soft-reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
- backing up (and copying any purchases over to your computer's iTunes library via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases) and restoring
- adjusting settings e.g. turning 'reduce motion' on (Settings > General > Accessibility), turning off 'background app refresh (Settings > General), turn off multitasking gestures (Settings > General)
- resetting back to factory defaults (after copying off purchases and any documents, photos etc that you want to keep) and then resyncing it back

Using the Mac with your iPad has nothing to do with the fact that the iPad is running slow. There could be any number of reasons why the iPad is now running slow.
Have you tried a reset on the iPad?
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

Why is my new iPad mini with retina very, very jerky and slow?

Hi,
Does anyone know what I can do about my new iPad being very, very jerky and slow?
FACT - The multitouch screen is unresponsive and I have to press and press and press to select what I want before it reacts.
It's an iPad mini with retina, so it's got the new chipset which runs really, really fast.
FACT - What happens is:
I start up pages and it freezes completely for quite a while before allowing me access to my documents.
I go to settings and it freezes up totally for quite a while before allowing me access to my settings.
Is there a cure? I get similar problems on my acompanying really, really fast iPhone 5s.
PS
Plenty of memory left so no problems there - only about half used and they're both 32gb.
...and my beloved iPad2 never used to do this either.

I have tried doing restore but nothing is working. It has only been happening since the last updates

IPhone 4S and iPad 4 WiFi is extremely slow

Over the last month, the WiFi connection on my iPhone 4S and iPad 4 has been extremely slow. The iPhone and iPad cannot seem to get speeds faster than .5 - 1.3 Mbps. Yet, my (wired) Mac Mini and (WiFi) Macbook Pro are pulling 18 - 25 Mbps consistantly.
Not sure if this is an issue with my approx. 3 year old Linksys Wireless N Router (model E1000) or an issue with the iPhone and iPad since i'm able to get decent wireless speeds on my Macbook Pro.
To troubleshoot the situation, I've verified my wireless router's firmware is up-to-date and I've reset the network settings on the iPhone and iPad.
Any ideas or suggestions would be helpful since I seem to be stuck and not sure what "next steps" I should take. Thanks in advance!!

Ok, so...here's a twist: I've been using Speedtest.net to test my wifi connection. I ran tests on 4 different servers that Speedtest picked up. While testing the iPhone, 2 of the 4 show speeds well over 20 Mbps, however, the other two servers show speeds of about .5 Mbps. Is it normal to get extremely different readings from the servers?
I'm now trying to determine if in fact I have a problem...or if there is no problem since the speeds look fine on other servers. What do you think?

My Ipad is getting hot and charging is very slow. I plugged it in this morning and after 7 hours is only at 78%. It was also losing its charge fast in the last week.

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.
