  • Why does my iPad no longer recognize my apple tv(2)

Why does my iPad (1) no longer recognize my apple tv(2)?

Hello, Winston, and thanks for the tip. I did unplug my apple tv, and replug it, and all was well again! Are you really Winston Churchill? My cousin James Humes is one of the foremost Churchill experts in the U.S., who has known the family for a long time, and has written many books on that great man. I named my white boxer Winston Churchill Humes. Thanks again!

  • My iPad mini no longer recognizes any wifi networks.

My iPad mini no longer recognizes any wifi networks (at home, at friends houses, Starbucks, etc.) It's not that I can't connect to networks, the iPad won't even give me the option to connect to any networks anywhere I go. Nothing appears. Under Wi-Fi it's completely blank. So let me just get this out of the way.... I've researched every possible thing I could do and nothing has worked. So don't tell me to make sure my airplane mode isn't on, wifi is turned on or I'm in range, reset my network settings, reset my router, go to Starbucks, update iTunes etc. etc. because I've done all of that and more. We have 3 other iPads in the house who all connect to our home wifi just fine, so it's not that. I literally cannot find any solution to this problem and I find it ridiculous. Please help!

So having done everything you have, it sounds like a potential hardware issue. You didn't mention a "restore" of the device, but I imagine you did that as well.   I would plan a trip to the Genius Bar.
By the way the work you have done is admirable.  You did a thorough troubleshooting process.

  • SDHC microSD card 16gb work with Apple SD card reader

Is a 16gb MicroSDHC card able to be used to upload photos from my camera to my iPad Mini 2 using an Apple SD Card Reader? When I try, it says no photos found. I don't know if the problem is the card or the file structure on the card. The camera is a Samsung Smart Camera 2 and the file structure is DCIM>Camera>YYYYMMDD_HHMMSS.jpg. I have seen on other posts that the DCIM sub-folder should be 8 characters and also that the photo file names should also be 8 characters plus ".jpg". Is the file structure the issue or the MicroSD card.
note that I have no problem with an  SD card written by a Nikon D90.

No that accessory is only compatible with the iPad models

  • My iPhone no longer recognizes my Apple ID

Most of the answers on AD deal with a new Apple ID or a game app, etc. I have my "old" Apple ID and last week it just decided it no longer recognizes it. Works fine on my MacBook but not my iPhone.

Go to Settings > iTunes and App Store
    Tap on your Apple ID
    Sign out
Sign back in with correct ID
Should be good to go from there.

  • IPhoto 11 will not recognize my camera or card reader

My new iMac with iPhoto 11, on Lion, will not recognise my camera, a SanDisk card reader or, for that matter, my iPhone 4.
It means that I cannot put new photo's into iPhoto.
From other forums and threads there seems to be an Apple issue but no fix.
    Any ideas?
    Thank you

The point of using a  Different Account on your Mac is that it will tell us if the applications are sound or not. If the problem occurs in another User account we'll know the issue is systemic. If it doesn't then we know the apps are sound and the issue is something in your account.
Basic troubleshooting: try the same things using different cables. If the cable is faulty then that's how we'll know. That fact that other features work using this cable means nothing. A connector cable has several strands. One could be damaged.
Ditto for using different USB ports  on the machine.

  • I was required to change my Apple ID the other day, and now iPad and IPhone no longer recognize my Apple ID or password for that ID.

I have (had?) a simple Apple ID that was just a name and numbers (e.g., "Smith12") and a password.  Yesterday, I tried to update an application on my iPhone and got a message saying I needed to create a new, longer, password with an existing Apple ID that looks like an email address (e.g., "[email protected]").  I did that, but when I then tried to install the updates for apps on iPad or iPhone, it asks for the password for the simple "Smith12"-style Apple ID but does not recognize the old or new password.  And I can't reset the old password because the reset function does not recognize either of the two security options -- my birth date info or sending an email with reset info.  Any ideas at all how to fix this?

Not sure if this helps...but I recently reset my apple ID on my main iTunes computer and had a problem getting my iPhone and iPad to recognize the new ID (ie, the phone asked for my password to my old ID when logging in).  A simple resynch didn't help...so a friend showed me to go into Settings>Store and click on my old apple ID (that was still recognized by the phone).  Then, I clicked log out, then log in, and logged back in with the NEW ID.  That instructed the phone to recognize the new ID to buy apps, etc.   Same process on the iPad.   You'll have to do a similar effort under settings>music and turn on iTunes Match (if applicable) under the new ID so it's recognized on your iPhone/iPad.  Seems easy in hindsight but quite frustrating in the meantime!   :-)

  • My remote apps no longer recognize the Apple TV

My dear sweet son has lost my remote for the Apple TV.  This usually isn't a problem because of the remote app on my iPod, iPhone, and iPad.  However, none of them are recognizing my Apple TV for some reason.  I have home sharing turned on, and iTunes recognizes it.  I would just turn homesharing off and on again on the Apple TV, but I can't because I have no remote.  Is there anything else I can do besides buy a new remote?

    >I would just turn homesharing off and on again on the Apple TV
No you won't. If you turn it off you would have no way to turn it on....  if you could connect at all.  You need the actualy device remote.  The app is just for convince.  They only cost like $20.

  • After ios7 update my iPad will no longer mirror to Apple TV

We updated our iPad to ios7 and now mirroring to Apple TV will not work. How can we fix it so we can use the mirroring function again ?

If you don't see the AirPlay icon:
    1. Turn off router, Apple TV and iPad
    2. Turn on router and then wait 30 seconds for it to complete start-up process
    3. Turn on Apple TV and then wait 30 seconds for it to complete start-up process
    4. Turn on iPad (wait 30 seconds) and test AirPlay

  • IGNORE!!! After updating to OS X 10.8.3, my iMessage on my MacBook Pro and my iPad 3 no longer recognizes my phone number or receives messages therefrom. I have signed out of my account, signed back in and synced. No avail.

I have synced my phone to my MacBook Pro. I have signed in and out of my account on all devices. The iMessage properties do not even list my phone number any longer. I can send and receive based on my e-mail, but it doesn't even give me the option to add my phone number. Anyone else having this problem after updating to OS X 10.8.3?
Already ANSWERED: Refer to "suggestions like this"

    You mustn't use MacKeeper > https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3036 Uninstall that program > http://applehelpwriter.com/2011/09/21/how-to-uninstall-mackeeper-malware/
If the problems persist after uninstalling this, it has broken Mac OS X and you have to reinstall Mac OS X. Press Command and R keys while your computer is starting and reinstall Lion

  • My iPad 2 doesn't recognize my Apple ID

I'm not really sure what my issue is.  When I log into itunes with my desktop computer I use My Apple ID but when I log into my iPad 2 it shows me as having a differnt Apple ID.  How do I update my apple ID on my iPad 2 as it is not accurate?

To log into a different account for the stores on your iPad, tap on the id in Settings > iTunes & App Store and tap on 'sign out' on the popup, and you can then log in with a different account.
If any apps (or other content) were downloaded by the account that is currently logged in then they will remain tied to that account, so only that account can download updates to those apps (and potentially redownload them).

  • My iPad no longer detects my memory card reader to transfer photos from my camera?

My iPad is no longer detecting my apple memory card reader to transfer photos from my camera to my iPad 2

You could try closing the Photos app completely and then re-open it to see if that makes a difference : from the home screen (i.e. not with Photos 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Photos app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work then you could try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
Are you adding the photos yourself to the card via a computer, or is it straight from a camera ?

  • Iphone 5 no longer recognizes apple lightening cord to charge

So I have been on a quest the last few days to try and find out why out of the 4 iPhone users in our house, only 2 of us, owning the iPhone 5, have issues with cords and charging our phones. We have owned every generation of iPhones and own everything apple in our home. This is the first time I have ever had any problems with our apple products.
My problems started shortly after I bought the phone and found that my charging cables were dying constantly. Then I noticed it was happening to my other iPhone 5 user too. Eventually my daughters iPhone 5 started having battery issues. It would crash from  50% and down to 0% in no time. We were traveling with a group of parents and kids and saw the mophie juice pack and looked it up and purchased it for my daughters phone. After a few months her phone no longer recognizes any apple cords. We get the error msg about this accessory is not compatible. The same apple cord works on all of our other phones and the iPad mini.We have replaced her battery twice and after much research I was assuming that we would need to replace something internally that recognizes the charger. We have cleaned it too.
So this is where it gets weird, i use my thirty pin iPhone 4 charger and a lightning adapter and it works.
I also will mention we did a hard reset and finally an erase and restore.
After other posts I have heard smarties tell me only use apple products, well I am always using apple products, when available, to a fault, but apple sells the mophie charger on their site. After talking it over with other iPhone users, I have concluded it is the iPhone 5. My friends who have multiple iPhones in their home have only issues with the 5 and not the 5S.
It has major issues and apple is the one responsible. I have read about these Chinese made inferior products that are supposedly  the reason for the breakdown, but why have these products not been a problem until the use of the new lightning cable? And the chip in the cables does not seem to work well with the 5.
The 5 will not work with my expensive Honda that has all of the capabilities to work with a smart phone,  when it worked perfect with the 4s.
I am not sure how the iOS updates have to do with this as only seems to affect the 5 and not the 5s which runs on the same iOS.
Curious as to anyone else's thoughts on the matter.

  • My iPad no longer recognizes my Zagg keyboard.  Turned it off and on several times.  One suggestion in manual is a dead battery.  Where is a battery on a Zagg case?  The iPad battery is fully charged.

My iPad 4 no longer recognizes my Zagg keyboard.  Turned it off and on several times.  One suggestion in manual is a dead battery.  Where is a battery on a Zagg case?  The iPad battery is fully charged and Bluetooth is on and the Zaggkeys PROfolio is listed but says NOT CONNECTED.  What else should I try?

Well, you shoud tap the line where it says not connected, and it should prompt you to enter something.  Regarding Zagg products, http://www.zagg.com/keyboard-cases/index.php?gclid=CIPgv7O_oL0CFQ8OOgodvnoA1w&ef _id=Uo5AsQAABFW6AX3n:20140320063435:s
