My iPad 2 screen has a faded spot at the bottom near the home key

Hi All,
My iPad 2 screen has a faded spot near the lower bottom corner above the Home key. When i start it, i could see the faded portion clearly, but when the screen comes up live, its normal. if i open any app which has a black portion falls on that location can make it visible. Rest of the time its fine. Is it a light leak from the corner? Should i get it serviced or live with it?
I bought it 2 weeks before.
Vijay

I Have a similar problem. My iPad screen will not respond to touch. If I tough the start button a message appears that says slide to unlock, but will not respond to my touch. If I touch the on/off key a message says slide to power off, but the screen will not respond to my touch. What must I do?

  • My Ipad 2 Screen Has Gone Black and All The Suggested Solutions Arent Working!

Last night, I went round to my friends. he doesn't live far from me so I walked. Before I set off I put my Ipad 2 in my bag. When I got to my friends, I took it out and the screen only showed black. I didn't know what to do so I attempted a few common things, tapping it, charging it and resetting it using the home and lock button. But nothing worked. I looked for a solution on this sight and I haven't had any luck. There was a suggestion where I was to restore the Ipad, I tried it. Before then, my Ipad ran on IOS 7.1.2 I think. But it required me to update to the current software. I updated the Ipad but as it was about to finish restoring, there was a problem and everything stopped. At this point its really begging to test my patience as I spend around 6-8 hours a day using it for work and emails and without it theres little much I can do. Is there anyone who has had similar issues?  I just don't understand how it ended up like this within the space of 20 minutes. Also theres the issue of restoring all the back up data, I cannot recover anything if the screen refuses to respond!

  • My ipad used to open when I'd press the home key on my BT keyboard and any other key on my Ipad. I updated to ios7 and now this is no longer a feature. Is there a way to fix this?

I have a logitech ultraslim bluetooth keyboard  and I was wondering if the feature where the Ipad was unlockable solely by the keyboard (not the physical home button on the iPad itself) is still accessible. It would have been a shame if this feature was taken away considering how often I unlock my iPad a day.

Don't know, but Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430

  • My iPad 2 screen has turned a weird colour. The background is black and the letters are white instead of the other way round and colour photos look like negatives. How do I change it back.

My IPad screen has turned a weird colour, the background is white and the letters white instead of the other way round.  Colour photos look like negatives. How can I turn it back to a white background.

    Dear Steve,
You are wonderful! You are the best! I'm Stephania and I recently purchased a refurbished ipad2. I've had it for about 3 weeks now and updating & fixing it so my liking. The only thing that I couldn't correct were the photos that looked like negatives. Every photo, even on the internet, on apps, everywhere! I just couldn't figure out how to fix it. I contacted Apple Care and its too difficult to get in touch with them. I had looked through support before but didn't put in the right question. Well, today I got lucky. I did the two things you suggested and turning the "White On Black" off did the trick. I'm so happy! I had a feeling it was something simple and this is not even in the manual!

Try triple clicking the home button. If that doesn't work:

Call apple or take it into an Apple store. What's wrong is beyond a user fix.

The warranty will apply to the country of purchase. And if there is a problem needing repair you have to return it to the country of purchase.
    Out-of-Warranty Service
If you own an iPad that is ineligible for warranty service but is eligible for Out-of-Warranty (OOW) Service, Apple will replace (Apple doesn't repair) your iPad with an iPad that is new or equivalent to new in both performance and reliability for the Out-of-Warranty Service fee listed below. (The replacement will most likely be a refurbished iPad in a brown box, however, it has a new screen, back and battery.)

hi my iPad air screen has broken how much you guys charge ??

We are fellow users here on these user-to-user forums, you're not talking to iTunes Support nor Apple.
How much it will cost to replace the iPad (it's replaced, not repaired) depends upon what country that you are. In the US the price for repair for the iPad Air is $299 (from here, add $6.95 if shipping is required). Here in the UK it's £249 (from here, add £7.44 if shipping is required) :
    iPad model
    Out-of-Warranty Service Fee
    iPad mini
    £169
    iPad, iPad 2,
    iPad mini Retina
    £199
    iPad 3rd, 4th generation,
    iPad Air

  • Hi...my ipad 3 screen has stopped rotatin...is there anythn in setting tht i might have changed???

Hi...my ipad 3 screen has stopped rotatin...is there anythn in setting tht i might have changed???

Is there a lock symbol at the top of the screen next to the battery indicator ? If so, then depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (rotation lock or mute notifications), then you can lock/unlock the rotation by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad, or via the taskbar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and it's the icon far left; press home again to exit the taskbar. The function that isn't on the side switch is set via the taskbar instead : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4085
If there isn't a lock symbol then try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

The first thing that needs to be done with a new iPad is to activate it by connecting it to a computer that is running iTunes. Getting started guide : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4053
