My IPad 2 screen has gone into "photo negative" type images for everything. Ideas?

Can anyone help re. IPad 2 screen,et al going into photo negative view of everything?

First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."

  • The appearance has gone into a "negative print" look for all windows, web, pictures etc. No changes were made to settings.

    15" MacBook Pro from 2008.
Working fine this morning and then shut the screen. After lifting 30 mins later the appearnce has all gone in to "negative" style. Have tried shutting down and restarting but with no change. I have tried changing appearance settings. No luck.
On startup all colours look normal and then it switched to a negative look. I also checked for updates and there were some so I ran them. Interestingly when running the update the background was standard Mac "space" and all colours were correct. That suggests to me that the screen is OK but something is telling it wrong color instructions (sometimes).
All other functions seem to be working ok.
Can't attach a screen shot using Grab because this chat says throws up an error - "content not allowed". Its a tiff file?
    Any suggestions welcome.

Go to System Preferences>Accessibility and make sure that "invert colors" is not turned on:
It won't show up in a screenshot...

  • My ipad 2 screen has gone black

My ipad 2 screen has gone black.  The only thing that shows is the circular processing icon.  I have tried turning it off and on and it won't even do that.  Any ideas? Thank you!

Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

    Try Reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
Note: Data will not be affected.

  • IPad 2 Screen has gone black

I recently updated my Ipad 2 to IOS 8. Yesterday I was playing Candy Crush Saga (No sniggering) and put it down to do something else.
I returned to find the screen had gone black, but was still illuminating. Tried to wake it up, but with no success. I then tried holding the power and front button together for up to 30 seconds to try and reset it. This didn't work, although power to the screen cycles from off black, to illuminated black whilst trying this.
I then connected it to my laptop and downloaded IOS 8.0.2 on the laptop and transferred it to the iPad. Got a warning that this wasn't successful as the iPad was locked and needed its passcode put in. Obviously couldn't do this as I can't see anything on the screen. Pressed the retry option on the laptop and it seemed to work. This still didn't unfreeze the iPad which still shows a black screen.
I then tried doing a factory reset on it from the laptop, got the the same passcode error message, retried and was told on the laptop that the reset had been successful. I still can't get a screen on the iPad however. laptop shows the iPad to be 100% charged.
I've looked through the help files and tried connecting it to a power source, the hold both buttons to reset trick and a factory reset, all to no avail. I had a similar problem a week ago, but that was resolved when I plugged it into the mains.
It's only 18 months old and has been well treated, and as it was working when I last left it so can anyone helop me get my iPad working again?

Is the battery empty ? If it is then it can take up to 15 minutes of charging before it will respond.
And by had reset do you mean pressing and holding both the sleep and home buttons ? If so then how long did you hold them for - it can take up to 10 to 15 seconds.

  • My IPad 2 screen has gone red. Thoughts on what might be causing the problem?

The screen on my IPad2 has gone to red. I still am able to use it but the colors are all off. I have heard it might be the graphic card, but before I take it back to the Apple store I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and how you resolved it?

It probably needs to be replaced.
You can try restoring it. If that doesn't do it, take it to a Genius.

  • All of a sudden three fourth of my ipad's screen has gone blank with stripes

Without any warning my Ipad's screen looks like this below -
I have done a hard reset but , the problem persists.
    what should i do?
I did check some apple forums and it does not seem that this is a unique problem.
    Could not find any answers.
    Need some help please.

  • Ipad 2 screen has gone black.  Restored it to factory settings

Ipad 2 screen went black,.  Voice over was on so I was able to turn off findiphone.  Connected it to the itunes store and was able to restore it to factory settings.  It lasted 1 day & went black again.  Voice over is off so I was unable to turn off findiphone.  Cannot restore to factory settings unless findiphone is turned off.  I cannot turn off the app because the screen is black.  I have tried holding down the home button and the off key until the apple appears.  The home screen appears for about one second and then goes black again.  What now???

Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

  • My Ipad 2 Screen Has Gone Black and All The Suggested Solutions Arent Working!

Last night, I went round to my friends. he doesn't live far from me so I walked. Before I set off I put my Ipad 2 in my bag. When I got to my friends, I took it out and the screen only showed black. I didn't know what to do so I attempted a few common things, tapping it, charging it and resetting it using the home and lock button. But nothing worked. I looked for a solution on this sight and I haven't had any luck. There was a suggestion where I was to restore the Ipad, I tried it. Before then, my Ipad ran on IOS 7.1.2 I think. But it required me to update to the current software. I updated the Ipad but as it was about to finish restoring, there was a problem and everything stopped. At this point its really begging to test my patience as I spend around 6-8 hours a day using it for work and emails and without it theres little much I can do. Is there anyone who has had similar issues?  I just don't understand how it ended up like this within the space of 20 minutes. Also theres the issue of restoring all the back up data, I cannot recover anything if the screen refuses to respond!

I Have a similar problem. My iPad screen will not respond to touch. If I tough the start button a message appears that says slide to unlock, but will not respond to my touch. If I touch the on/off key a message says slide to power off, but the screen will not respond to my touch. What must I do?

  • My screen has gone into no color except for one line, I can provide picture, i have tried everything to fix it but it wont go away. Any solutions?

Ive tried shutting it off and all things of that nature, its been like this for quite a while, any suggestions? Thanks

It looks like a a defective GPU or Logicboard. This is definitely hardware related. The solution would be to take it to Apple for a definitive diagnosis and take it from there.
