My Ipad 2 seems to be stuck in earphone mode?

My Ipad 2 seems to be stuck in earphone mode and I cannot get it to play sound out the speaker!  I have tried putting some earphones in and pulling them out several time but with no success.  I have tried restarting and doing a hard reboot. Help please?

Two solutions in the past were -
1. Plugging in headphones, playing music, pausing play, unplugging the headphones and resuming play successfully!
2. Plugging in the power and the headphones, unplugging the headphones, using the volume control on the side to adjust the volume, and then unplugging the power!

Be good to know what the diagnostic results are.
I've also just run into an issue where I couldn't restore an iPod with a corrupt file system, and the "super fix" in that linked article wasn't working for me. I've run across a potentially useful workaround.
iPod Classic went on the fritz today just after syncing. Couldn't restore via iTunes, kept getting 1439 errors, Windows wouldn't format as FAT32, claimed the "Volume is too big for FAT32". Finally tracked down EaseUS Partition Master Home Edition (Free) and formatted as FAT32 with 128k clusters. The iPod is filling back up again. Might be worth a shot here...

  • My iPhone seems to be stuck in headphone mode.  I tried plugging in and unplugging the earbuds several times, but it still does not work.  Any other suggestsions?

My iPhone seems to be stuck in headphone mode.  I already tried plugging and unplugging my headphones, but it still is stuck in headphone mode.  What can I try next?

I've read other methods but they didn't work for me.
You can try cleaning the jack with a q tip, blowing into the jack and then pulling in and out the headphones (thi worked for my friend).
The toothpick trick which i got from this link here : http://science.opposingviews.com/turn-headphone-mode-off-iphones-15782.html
Ive also heard although it isn't the best, using an air compressor to clean out any gunk in the jack that can help aswell.
I'm utterly frusturated at this point. I'm just going to go to the Apple Store and see what they have to say. If of these at home remedies don't work i suggest you do to and brace yourself for repair costs.
    Best of luck

  • IPad 2 stuck in earphone mode

How do you resolve the issue where iPad2 is stuck in earphone mode?  I tried rebooting, the connecting to power and disconnecting, even resetting the settings and none of it worked.

    Try This...
Close All Open Apps...  Sigh Out of your Account... Perform a Reset... Try again...
Reset  ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons.

  • My 4s is stuck in 'earphone mode'?

My 4s is stuck in 'earphone mode'.  Tried blowing, sucking, cleaning, restarting, rebooting, software reinstallation and other, more arcane suggestions.  Got a solution?

I agreed with  your guess enough to risk a $50 switch repair, so I went to the local iPhone repair guy.  He replaced the earphone jack but there was no change (iPhone operates as if the earphone is plugged in when it's not) so he replaced my original part and only charged me $10 for the labor.  His diagnosis was that something in the main board hardware was malfunctioning.  So I went to Frys and got a blue tooth headset, hoping that I could pair with the phone and answer calls with the blue tooth.  It won't pair with my iPhone.
To summarize, I've restored the software a couple times (from a back up and from Apple), hard reset many times, blown in the earphone hole, sucked from the earphone hole, replaced the earphone jack and attempted to pair with a bluetooth headset.  All to no avail.  Looks like I get to wait til June when I can upgrade.  Thanks to everyone who responded with suggestions.

  • My Mac wont start, seems to be stuck in sleep mode

    Hello there,
So just recently my computer died while in sleep mode.  I put it on the charger and let it be.  However, now when I turn on the power it seems like it is stuck in sleep mode, there is no connecting chime (when powered up) the keyboard fails to work as a means of getting the notebook to start up.  The fan and or disk is running really slow at first but then gets louder.  I am not skilled with my Mac, was wondering if there is an easy fix or I should get on my way to the repair store.
PS - I have tried the command+option+escape to kill all the apps running but that seems to not work? anything else i should try?
    Please help.
    B

Hold down the Power button for 10 or 15 seconds until the computer shuts down. Then restart it if possible. If it won't restart then make a Genius Appointment and take it in for service.

  • My 6th gen ipod seems to be stuck in accessibility mode

My 6th generation Ipod is stuck in accessibility mode and is "voicing" all the different options on the screen.  Also, a swiping action is not working.  I have not done a factory reset to original settings but it will likely be my next step.  A hard reset did not cure the problem.

Plug it in to iTunes - go to the Summary tab when the iPod appears - go down to the 'Configure Accessibility' button (bottom of the page) - click it.  You may see VoiceOver checked.  Uncheck it, then click OK.
Failing that: I have a 7G.  With my version, I get the voice when I hold both volume buttons down (I think).  Maybe your buttons do the same thing and maybe they are being held down by something?  Just a guess.

  • The camera on my iPad air seems to be stuck on video.  How do I change this to photos?

The camera on my iPad air only seems to operate in video mode.  How do I cahnge it to photos?

To change the Camera mode you must touch the desired mode, say, Photo, and swipe it to the selected positioin. Just touching Photo is not enough.

  • My iPad camera seems to be stuck on video (there by accident), how do I get it back to photo, tapping doesn't help

I was '"fumbling" with my iPad to set it up to take a photo, and I accidently hit the video selection. And now I can't get it back to photo. Any suggestions as what I can do?
Feel like an idiot because I have used video before and have not had this problem.
Thanks so much for your support.

Swipe up or down until Photo appears in yellow text on the right. Don't tap, swipe up or down anywhere on the screen.

  • I've backed up, download 7.0.4, and restored my iPad 2, but it is "stuck" in "setup" mode.  How do I move on to using the iPad?

I've added iOS 7.04 to my iPad, having backed up to iTunes, and have also restored it from iTunes.  But, the iPad is stuck in "set up" mode since restoring and doesn't allow me to move on to using the iPad.  How do I move on from "set up"?

Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased.

  • IOS 8 + iPad 3 + Connect to iTunes + Stuck in Recovery Mode

    Current issue
Went to apply iOS8 update to ipad and it began the update process over wifi
Screen went black after awhile, apple logo showed a few times, now stuck on connect to itunes logo.
Connected to iTunes and it says "iTunes has detected an iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes"
Nothing is said about updating etc that has been mentioned.
Reiboot, recboot, etc none unlock it out of recovery mode.
Apple has pretty much bricked this ipad with the update. Anyone with a fix yet on this?

Got the same problem with the iPad 2.
Don't want to restore to factory settings and lose all my photos.

  • 4GB nano seems to be stuck in disk mode, shows as disk but no itunes

So my 4gig nano will mount in windows but will not show in windows. I've reset the thing about 20 times, restored with latest updater over and over again, tried forcing it into disk mode and then resetting it, but everytime I connect it to my win xp computer it will mount but not show in itunes. I've tried 3 different windows PCs and one was a fresh install. All have latest itunes. The ipod seems to work perfectly in all aspects except it will not show in itunes. Any suggestions?
